Zen Garden 2025

Hey, looks good, nice healthy green to them. I think we'll be flipping close to the same time.
Thanks. The one we topped first and made the clone from is doing great.
IMG_3020.jpeg
I think she’s ready any time. I was going to get him to transplant it once more but now I’m debating just leaving them in the one gallon again. She’s 52 days from being potted. 🤔

The other is a mess. I kind of hope it’s a male so we have to pull it. Stringy and deformed. But if it’s female we don’t have the time to wait for another.IMG_3021.jpeg

I have all of my plants transplanted into the Autopots, tent cleaned, trays & new water line's.
I should do the clone and seedling soon. Got the pot and soil set. Just waiting for them to dry out a bit so they don’t fall apart.

Not sure if we’re going to up pot the larger plants yet.

I had serious blocking in my lines with biofilm build up. I bought a filter for the next run and new water line should do the trick at keeping it clean this time.
At least you don’t have leaks. That would be my fear. Glad you’re on top of it. How often will you need to clean the filters?

Yes my basement is cold too & fking dry. I have 2 humidifiers in my tent running full speed and I can barely get to 50%RH in my 5x5.
I got the humidity in a better spot. Staying above 60% for the most part now. Temp has stayed between 17*-21*. Going to try and raise the light and turn it up. But match the current LUX it’s at now. 🤞IMG_3015.jpeg

Do you use trivets at all under your pots? I don't see any lift off the tent floor or do I just have bad eyes?
These trays have grooves. But when I move them to the 3x3 I’ll have them on risers.

I couldn't see them in the pic, I thought you were flat on the ground and that's a no no. Foam insulation and everything, I was going to mention the cold ground the last time, pics tell everything

I have a humidifier in my drying box with RO water. I went to refill it yesterday and my arm brushed against a soaking wet and dripping branch full of buds, saturated wet. fking humidifier & fan conspired against me and threw all the steam coming out the dam thing onto 1 section of the box and soaked some weed. I need a smaller humidifier in there but the small ones run out of water too fast. When I go down there this am if its still soaking my plants out it comes.

20250227:

Transplanted the clone and new seedling today. The new germination pots work but the ridges seem to hold the dirt, damp or dry. Pulls the dirt apart. Need to change that.

Seedling and clone look great. Both are around the two week mark.
IMG_3043.jpeg

Clone roots did well. Can’t believe I grew it in a shot glass in winter.76237408786__26D8263F-9745-4E2B-93FA-9D7F35367EFF.jpeg
IMG_3046.jpeg

Added a bit of this…IMG_3045.jpeg

Clones done. IMG_3047.jpeg

My son did the seedling. Dirt and root ball came apart but I think we salvaged it. IMG_3048.jpeg
IMG_3049.jpeg

Moved things around in the tent. Two need to get moved out to the next zone. (The fugly one I topped to let match the hight of the other cola.)IMG_3051.jpeg

We’ll see what we can do with the two oldest plants this weekend at the latest.

Did I mention the fugly one really bugs me. 🤨

20250303:

We moved the two biggest plants into the 3x3 section/zone on the 2nd of March. It should improve the temperature and humidity a bit. I helped out with fugly and gave it a trim and some LST clips.IMG_3101.jpegIMG_3103.jpeg

They look better already. One on the left is stretching out and bushier.

Lights out environment.IMG_3077.jpeg

Lights on environment. IMG_3073.jpeg

The clone and seedling are okay. Still a few degrees cooler in zone 1.IMG_3086.jpeg

Last week it was all about the Haunted Banana. IMG_3055.jpeg

This week we’re mixing it up starting with Solo August 2023.IMG_3099.jpegIMG_3098.jpeg

Taste is totally different. Still strong and enjoyable.

More snow coming. Little more freezing rain today. Roof seems to have stopped leaking. IMG_3085.jpeg

20250305:

Things are moving along nicely now, just slower from the low temperatures. The small zone with the clone and newest seedling is having trouble keeping humidity up with the larger plants removed but it’s above 55% last I checked.

Fugly is looking much better. No prize winner but hopefully not a complete disappointment.
IMG_3112.jpeg

The clone and seedling are keeping pace ATM. It would be nice if they stayed relatively the same size. IMG_3113.jpeg

Feed mix has been the same the last two weeks. 1.5L for the big girls and 1L for the small plants this week. We water down the mix a bit for the younger ones as well.

Botanicare Kind
6ml/g Base 4:0:0
12ml/g Grow 2:2:4
0 Epsom

Watching this week to see if we have any issues/deficiencies. Warmer weather might help but there is a damp chill with all the melt water.

Trying to tell the sex is still difficult. But I feel the best plant and clone are female. As much from my gutt as from what I see. Just can’t get a great pic yet.IMG_3126.jpegIMG_3121.jpeg

Here’s to wishful thinking. 🤞

Hey, looks good, mine have been flipped for 7 days now, time to give them a good look for balls or pistils today. They are filling my tent and I like it that way, it'll be a shame to pull the Males., everything looks so pretty now.

Ours is just about gone, after some heavy rain in the 6-7-8-9-10C range and heavy fog yesterday its only left where its been piled up. ground is soggy wet, , still a patch, of ice in the shade by the store but my driveway is real soft and clear

Thanks. One we could flip in a week I think but I’d really like to see sex first. I want it under SCROG before I flip so we’ll see.

Really hope you don’t have dudes hiding with the ladies. 🤞🍀

Even after two days of rain and high winds with temperatures above 4* we still have this everywhere that wasn’t shovelled. It was almost fog here the other night …more of a heavy mist.IMG_3132.jpeg

Got a little worried about leaks but so far so good. They say 10* next week so that will be interesting.

I was surprised that the ground was able to soak up all the water. At one point it was getting high then later nothing. Finally caught a break.

Gee she’s still snowing at your joint Zen...when’s it start thawing out lol.
Depends. But a safe bet is mid April. Rule of thumb it to wait until after May 24th long weekend to plant but frost can still happen.

20250308:

Tents still a few degrees cooler than we like but humidity is good and they seem to be adjusting fine now.IMG_3171.jpeg

They are starting to stretch a bit even though I bumped the light to 50% the other night. I’ll see if they can do 75% in a few days. Watching the leaves for now. IMG_3168.jpegIMG_3169.jpeg

The clone and last seedling are doing great. Still slow but that’s okay. I’ll top the seedling and clone soon. IMG_3167.jpeg

I’m happy to say my gut feeling was right. The plant I cloned is female. They both have shown their sex since we looked…three days ago?

CloneIMG_3166.jpeg

So we are 2 out of 4 so far. Waiting on fugly and the seedling now. ⏳

20250311:

The 3x3 with the older plants is taking off. I had to remove the water can as it’s holding the humidity without it currently.IMG_3190.jpeg

I think we’re going to SCROG the plant on the right this weekend. Move fugly to the other 3x3 and see what happens.

The clone and seedling are doing great. Topped the clone on Saturday. The seedling is showing wider leaves, more Indica looking. This has happened in the past but it usually grows out before flowering.IMG_3189.jpeg

Bumped the lights up in both zones. The 3x3 is up to 75%. Getting things ready for a flip. Probably a week after we drop the SCROG net.

Watching the temperatures and humidity. They seem to be in flux. Only Zen 1 is in use, the other tent is shutdown and full of equipment. But it shows the ambient environment. This is the last three days.IMG_3183.jpegIMG_3191.jpegIMG_3192.jpeg

The feed mix is now the same but I water it down for the small plants.

9ml 4:0:0 Base
12ml 2:2:4 Grow
1tsp Epsom

Small plants are taking a few days to get light but the larger ones are drinking faster. All are still in 1 gallon pots. Still not sure it’s going to be big enough to support a SCROG but I’m hoping.

Hey, fancy printouts you have there, must be some of that new fangled cell phone stuff. I couldn't figure mine out, it sits in a drawer somewhere.

You're using C for temp...lol...I have to convert, I still can't get it, schooling locked in me C doesn't compute easily.

Your humidity is up? I'm still at 39% at my desk top. My humidifiers are working overtime.

I've found balls on 2 so far but I'm going to give a few more days before I call it and pull them. I can still pull the pots from my tent and work with them once I know for sure....2 would be a nice number of males....I could smile with 2 only.

It’s the ACI app. I just take a screenshot and chop it. You want help with the phone let me know. I’m not bleeding edge anymore but I’m sure I could help you figure out a cell phone. 🤣

You a little older than me. About a decade. Metric kicked in about halfway through my schooling. So now I’m half and half. Fahrenheit and liquids are a problem. But not really an issue these days.

I think it’s the warm temps and melt doing it. Basement is a walkout.

Monday morning.

That’s not bad with your count. I hope 0 males.

I’m pretty sure we’ll be 3/4 but if fugly is female I’ll be 4/4. 🍀

20250316:

Busy few days. We trimmed a bit, made changes to lights, split up the plants, checked for sex, and put up a SCROG.

Turning up the Photontek to 75% didn’t work out so well. After two days the plants looked over watered even though the were dry. Temperature and humidity stayed in the same general areas. High was 27* & 47RH. When watering didn’t bring them around we turned the light back to 50%. About 12hrs later they looked fine. This is at 75%.IMG_3244.jpeg

After the plants perked up we SCROGed the female.IMG_3239.jpegIMG_3271.jpeg
IMG_3257.jpeg

The Fugly is still pending sex…IMG_3272.jpegIMG_3248.jpegIMG_3249.jpeg

The clone and newest plant are doing good. Need to top the broad leaved plant. IMG_3270.jpeg

We will veg the SCROG through the week then flip by the weekend, if all goes well. I’m going to raise the light up and see if we can get it to 75% so it’s ready for flower.

Fugly should be showing sex by next weekend. It’s only a week or so younger than the female.

The smaller plants can stay where they are or move to the other tent. Depends if we chuck or SCROG Fugly.

Grow wise it’s been a pretty good week. Warmer temps but damp chill air. We still have piles of snow but they are melting pretty quick. Should be gone by Wednesday I think. 👍

Did a few things since the last post. Trimmed the two lowest nodes off the clone and seedling. The clone gave us three tops. Only just topped the seedling. Both are around 65-70 RH and 18-24*. Makes the nodes grow tightly together it seems.

Same strain but every once in a while I get one with real wide leaves. That’s fine, I need some Indica in our routine.
IMG_3281.jpeg

The plant in SCROG is doing fine. Bent and abused branches are healing, growing past the net. Next round will be tucking. Maybe some trimming…it’s looking dense in the middle. We raised the light then raised the intensity to 75% again. Before changes LUX was 26000, after is 30000. Last time it was 34000 and too much.
IMG_3282.jpeg

Fugly is improving after the LST and trimming. Until we see balls or boobs it’s going to sit there. After which it’s SCROG or Bokashi.IMG_3284.jpeg

So far it’s three, including me, that think it’s male. One that thinks otherwise. Just wish it would hurry the hell up. Bloody inconsiderate.

Current feed mix:
6ml Base 4:0:0
12ml Grow 2:2:4
2.5ml ProCal 2:0:0

Going to talk to the boy and see what his timeline is. Want to add bloom nutes a bit early before flip.

At least the new bubble straw arrived. 👍76391698989__AA26BC27-7A8E-4570-A78E-AE124674D578.jpeg

Things are still progressing, slowly. The clone and seedling have been in veg a week or more now. Clone was topped a while ago but the seedling was just last weekend. Because of the environment the tight nodes are giving us multiple new tops on both.

The seedling is showing a lot more Indica traits which happens on occasion. Most grow out of it but I’m hoping this one keeps going. It’s nice to have a different experience.

I might have to move these to the bigger zone soon. More head room but same size.
IMG_3301.jpeg

The larger plants are at that stage I sometimes see where they need watering more often but not too often. They will go from dry to over watered if you don’t time it right. I told him to error on the side of under-watering. They come back to life almost before your eyes but we don’t want to be doing that in flower.

Fugly has to be near time to show the sex. It was less than two weeks behind the other plant. IMG_3302.jpeg

I put the Dummy 13 back in. We’ll see how creative I’m feeling as the grow goes on.

Local weather has been -2* one morning and 14* the next. High of 19.5* in the shade the other day. Pick a lane!

Looking to flip the SCROG in a week or so. Hoping Fugly will be female and join her. Harvest would be late May.

I’ll be showing him how to trim and defoliate this weekend. Look for any issues and open things up as needed.
