We shouldn't get much snow here but got same temps this week.
I'm taking Mon/Tues off.
-38 here tonight in the great white north.
Cars have electric block heaters, no tires dont go flat maybe if you have bad rims. Stay indoors or dress properly for the weather its the wind that gets to you
Had a sauna at my last home. Yes exposed skin may cause frost bite. I have had my eye lashes freeze together a few times over the years. The one thing you dont want to do is sweat
Only let a little air out of your tires if you get stuck in snow and need traction. Never had to plug in my engine block but many do.holy fuck man, how do you prepare? like do your tires go flat? do you gotta keep your car plugged in to a heater or just keep it running?
Worst part of each morning… Being the first to sit on the toilet before the heat comes on.i'm struggling to fathom that temperature.
If you’re smart. Frostbite doesn’t take long. Just warming toes and fingers back up can hurt like a bitch for 5-10 minutes.i assume all of your skin must be completely covered if you would need to go outside?
Yep. Had eyelashes stuck together a few times. Had ice in/on beard and moustache many times. Had a bit of moustache break off once.do eyelashes freeze at that temp?
No, not a fan. Family home had a big jacuzzi but I’m content with a large bathtub when needed.please tell me you own a sauna..
Would think the paper towels would still be needed for friction to remove the seed shell.that fog is sofa king cool!!! no paper towels even needed!!!!
.
The shells were starting to shed but I did finally remove it with tweezers, though, so I guess I can't say for sure.Would think the paper towels would still be needed for friction to remove the seed shell.
@Observer did the first shell come off by itself?

thats the way to do iti'm pretty sure i could survive one of your winters man, today our high is 17°F cold but manageable... it's that -38° that OLDCRO was dealing with that made me shiver!!!
the snow was welcomed last night.. believe it or not the snow actually helps insulate the house!!!
i bought a bottle of this and added water to it, got almost a full gallon of 20% ph down from it for $30

Right. I go into the kitchen I forget what I’m there for, but I’m on it.!remindeme 75 hours from now~

Yeah it’s been not too bad for snow the last couple years. A few dumps and then just blowing stuff or occasional flurries. No need for the army to come save us again.i'm pretty sure i could survive one of your winters man, today our high is 17°F cold but manageable... it's that -38° that OLDCRO was dealing with that made me shiver!!!
Absolutely. You forget all us Canadians live in igloos?the snow was welcomed last night.. believe it or not the snow actually helps insulate the house!!!

But for each hour north of us it really gets colder and lots more snow still.

G$ and I were just talking about that the other day. My gas bills are higher because of it. Add lots of high wind and it’s going to be a nasty cold February.![]()

i changed the netcups from 6" to 4" and i am giving coco/perlite a try, more on this in my other thread once i get seedlings on the system, but the system is filled, running, and ready!! i hoping to get two good lookin sour D seedlings for hydro.
Re using soil scares me.
It is the bugs/ eggs that may be in the soil, that is my real concern.
Even my Stonington really does not feed the plant much past 4 weeks of veg if that so amending soil is not the concern.
Man I don't blame ya... I'd sell my house at that point toorelocate and rebuild i guess
Go Bucks tOSUAnd then there were four.

The mountain only gets steeper and harder to climb from here. The two best teams of the regular season are out so now it's all up for grabs for teams with both flaws and strengths to win or lose it all.
Texas has the defense and the fight to take this thing. Nobody is more battle tested
OSU has the best roster money can buy with studs peppered in all over the field but their QB is 0-3 vs Texas
PSU is the total team package but there's still questions vs elite opponents
ND has a puncher's chance
Familiar sponsor for this one. We need to roll out the NASCAR package ;hem

white room is cleaned with a new floor pan, all one piece this time!i changed the netcups from 6" to 4" and i am giving coco/perlite a try, more on this in my other thread once i get seedlings on the system, but the system is filled, running, and ready!! i hoping to get two good lookin sour D seedlings for hydro.
black room is clean and bleached. i set in the raised tray for now and will have the heater underneath. i hope to start with 18 in soil. only 16 will fit for flower so the best 16 move on.
this round will be mainlined with a plan for eight legs on each plant. the soil has been reconditioned from a couple grows ago. i loaded it with all kinds of goodies and it's now on a heat mat building a microbe colony!!
if everything goes well i might have some gardening to do this weekend!!!!![]()

For the first time in a very long time looks like we're starting new grows at the same time!
I'm only about 1 week ahead of you.
Good luck Buddy and I hope all goes smooth!

Rematch August 30th!!!! ;hem;horns;hem

I would gone air pots also if it wasn't winter and horribly low RH.
Next grow for sure also.
The brutal cold really should end in 4-5 weeks at the most.
Hopefully less and just tolerable cold.
Normally this time is my best / favorite time in the room.
Not this year just because of the extreme cold.

Bring on racing, maybe I'll fire up my Ninja 1000 or my 3 wheelercan't tell the new buyers or i'd never be able to sell!!! hahaha naw i think we're alright and i don't expect any problems. i might still get some gnats though... hard to keep that number at none, but as long as it's not a total infestation i'm cool with it.
i watched it... i was rooting for the other team.. it's alright football will be starting all over again before we know it!!!
till then we get some stock car racing!!!!!!!!!! the smells of burnt rubber and race fuel!!!!
it has been a while man, we used to drag race a lot.. you always kick my ass though!! haha
i picked up a new heater, i got a black one for the black room and i'll put the while one back in here, just using it in the laundry room right now for these single digit lows we have just to make sure my pipes don't freeze, they never have before but this is some serious cold temps all week.

normally i always give a cheat peek on the VG to see how things are going but this time i haven't looked once!!!
i'm going to start the soil plants in one gallon blow molds again. i'd really like to get back into airpots again but it's just not the time of the years for me to be pulling them all out and washing them. plus i'd still like to work on a way to seal up the second or maybe even the third row of holes up. been kinda wanting to go back to SIP for veg and used my old airpot veg setup. i was having a few problems near the end of using that but i learned that i think it was compacted soil and not the setup. i'd really like to take what i've learned in the past two years and apply that to my old setup. i'd still like to flower this way and not go back to SIP for flower but for veg i know i had way better root foundations when i used the airpots. right now i'm settling for root quality to gain ease of container watering. it should be almost spring time when i start the next round so i might be able to change it up next time.
for now i'll start with the back saving shelf and hand water.
