This is a baby that would fit in my hand. It was 4’ from my son and I on the bench, trying to find a place to hide. The dog was out but didn’t notice. We had her stay on the porch. The little guy finally got brave enough to run past us and head down the stairs into the lower yard. That’s when we got the photos. Movie sucks. He sent it to my phone which squashed it. 🤬

About 2wks ago I re potted my tomatoes, I cut some lower shoots from them to tiday them up and put the shoots into compost then into a bucket.20250511_170347.jpg
FFWD 2wks they've rooted, some have flower's I'm thinking that's a good sign but idk...I don't want to Google it it'll spoil the fun, sometimes you just want to find out yourself?

That's very cool. Reminds me of the bird feeder cams. I'd like to set up something like this. I have nests for different species in mostly the same spots, every Spring. I'll sometimes snap photos, but try not to disturb them. What you have set up takes disturbing them out of the equation.

This is the Rocket fertility festival at my in-laws little town. All handmade, unregistered, unrestricted and loud AF. Lots of alcohol, singing and dancing in the mud; very few tourists ever see this kind of thing. We are planning to build a small house on this lot replacing the 🐔 🐥 coop (as soon as frankster delivers the cedar boards).

Exo x Blockbuster it's my own homemade cross, tbf it's it's nice I've paid good money for considerably less on more than 1 occasion, it's not a substitute for either parent tbh but nonetheless it's a good smoke in its own right it's tasty/loud terps.

I'm hoping to grow 100s of the offspring and breed the selected ones back to the exo mum...rinse and repeat for a few generations aiming for exo in seed form?

I'm thinking for like a rough selection growing say 100/150 exo/blockbuster seeds outside would be feasible, anything promising I could clone or hijack some pollen where applicable then walk away, I don't know much about outside I could easily overlook something important, what do you folk's think about outside, can you see any obvious pitfalls beyond security?
 
Cloning in flower to keep maintaining them simple until the mums have been grown and smoked, the alternative of looking after 12/16 vigorous clones for the duration of flowering then drying doesn't bear thinking about especially when most of them go in the bin.

12 strains a 8x10" tray is enough space, it's great method for anything unknown.

I Can't imagine the work, space and time they've saved me during this lengthy pheno hunt.
 
While the family was out Sunday morning I looked after the new garden plants remaining. Squirrels and rabbits ate all the hollyhocks and some sunflowers.

At 8:35pm this uninvited guest must have been getting ready to feed the babies. She only comes early in the morning or just before evening to eat and then feed the little ones. We left the grass tall there because the hole is in the middle.

I’ve been looking for new lift arms for our hatchback for months. At least since late fall iirc.

Got fed up over the weekend and actually went to the three most likely places to get them.

Canadian Tire only had one return at the factory $30 each.IMG_4556.jpeg

Napa had none in Canada and buddy said not to bother waiting. And these were $55 each.

Went to the dealer knowing they had the highest price but it would be done and over with. But none in stock and dicked me around wanting my name and phone number before even telling me the price or when they would get stock.

So told them to piss off and ordered it off Amazon for $40 and paid an extra $13 to get it delivered by 7am Saturday morning so we could go shopping. They made it on time for less than $60 and no issues. IMG_4557.jpg

Sad that what was once only $9 each has jumped so much in less than 10 years but having to buy it on line when three car parts stores had no stock anywhere in the area…that’s screwed. 🤦

Something has been munching my sunflowers, too. I haven't done anything to protect them, though.

I have a couple new hollyhock I need to get in the ground. I've never tried to grow them before.

They say they don’t like to be transplanted. I usually grow them in the house until they are well established. No bigger than a one gallon soft pot. Lots of sun and water. If it’s happy it will end up over 6’. You’ll have hundreds of seeds for the next year. Plus it will come back at least one more year but I’ve had up to three for the same plant.

Watch out for bugs and rabbits. They only seem to eat the leaves. I failed to cover last years this spring and the rabbits ate them because they are early to come up. 😤
 
We had a ton of rain on Fri the river raised around 4ft I was thinking there's going to be the chance of some salmon fishing this week.

I hooked and landed 1 salmon and lost 1 other after about 10/15 seconds of hooking it...it was still a good tug!

Looks like an anti aircraft artillery round. Cool find!
My job in the Army was artillery and I've collected a few pieces like a timed fuse head, a spacer used in a nuke round, and flechettes from a beehive round but nothing for shooting down airplanes.

I covered it with plastic and smoke bombed them...star dog 1 aphids 0

The smoke bombs are only £3/4 each they're very effective on the usual suspects.
