Looking real good man!👍

I’m just starting day 30 in an hour…not looking this nice! Yet. 🤣

Can’t wait to see the final day before chop.
i ended up doing some research on the strain. can't find any grow journals specific to it, so seed finder gleaned some valuable info. flowering time is 64-74 days, with the single commenter recommending running to the full 10 weeks. So I started the pk boost yesterday. Damn near missed the window as the green pheno has started its senescence phase which IME is the telltale it's now or never to get the PK boost in, in time.

0.4 EC base nutes and the rest made up with MOAB to a total of 1.3 EC. Should see a fairly decent bump in flower development over the next couple weeks.

I’ve found mid 60’s to mid 70’s good as well. Depending on desired effect.

Unfortunately I have no idea what I’ve got other than it does the job well and it’s about 70% Sativa. IMO

Other than adding 3-6-12 one or two feedings in 6th week I haven’t tried any boost. Only now able to go a run without leaf burn.

By the time I see the signs and act it’s usually a little late. How can you tell it was ready or about to start dying I guess?

Cool, I’ll be checking in. Nearest to my strain I’ve seen here.

I haven’t checked EC, PPM or PH the last few grows. Worrying about everything and chasing issues bogged me down. Now it’s only when I have an issue I run for the toys. (LUX meter I use a few times each grow)

Once I get a few more grows under my belt just watching and trying things I’ll start checking and tweaking more. Use the tools to dial things in better.

Until then watching you guys and asking questions is fine.

Going for a nonBBQ finish this go round. 👍

meant to say this earlier, but i was on mobile and replying on the phone is way too tedious.

dump whatever here, my guy. it's the troll cave. there's the NSFW adult thread, but I like to think this is an equally safe place. it'd be cool if the mods could mark this thread as unscrapable in the robots.txt and block it from non-members, but I'm not sure what that'd entail.
I can't post pic's without my phone and I don't like using it for much either. Cheers tobh following the thread, SSgrower

primarly i watch for three things: pistils dying and receding in the bracts, the bracts swelling, and the leaves beginning to fade or change color.

I still feel like I'm a little early on the MOAB but the plants show two of three indicators that it's time, so there's really no harm in being a few days early vs a few days late.

this round i've only been checking EC and pH of the res after mixing, and that's only because of a new water source that I'm still adjusting to. where i was previously was on city water that i didn't know the source of, and also was aware that it was heavily processed. averaged ~150ppm out of the tap. this new place the water won't even register on the truncheon meter and my cheapo amazon TDS meter said it was ~60ppm, and the source is from two of the local rivers with much less processing done to the water before it hits my tap. I've only checked runoff a handful of times and only checked the media once at the beginning of flower just to make sure the drybacks weren't introducing excess salt buildup.

I've also ran slightly lighter feed per my notes this round. I only hit 1.6 EC for a week about two weeks ago, otherwise I've been running at 1.3-1.4. Plants haven't seemed to mind and are taking the lights at 100% just fine. The quantum boards might be getting tired, though, as I've never been able to run 100% without some calcium def showing up.

all part of the dialing process. if i manage to not dehydrate the plants before harvest this run will have set a good baseline for this new environment and I'll be able to continue improving it while I stack the cash to build the dedicated room. it's always a learning experience man.

Had to look bracts up. 🤦

So flower color change is also an indication. GTK. I enjoy the color changes but not at the expense of quality.

So many little things to watch for.

My last two harvest I went long. Trying to get a bed time effect. It sort of worked. This round is going to be closer to 65 days. Just cloudy if I can. Need some more fun up-up weed.

New beans will help with this too I hope. Just starting to try that now. Stupid auctions. 😝

I wasn’t criticizing. On the contrary. I wish I still had the patience to do it and not get bogged down. Hard for me not to get it right or perfect…or frustrated.

I spent the year learning what I can do with what I have and can afford. This winter is where I try to apply it. Trying NOT to add or change much.

You guys are top shelf. If I ever get there it will be by surprise.

I was doing great and bumping up the light to 100% after an hour or two after lights on. Then back to 75% the last hour or two. If I was up. Otherwise back down for next lights on.

Started getting tip burn on the Northern Lights so backed it off. IIRC Moe and maybe Aqua had discussed leaf burn not being too much light but a deficiency that adding more light revealed.

That’s as far as I got. G$ and Pipecarver have noted 75% is fine so I’m there for now. Might bump up again a little later. Just starting day 30. Might get tricky with Sativa and Indica in the same SCROG. 🤞

I also forgot this is a whole new house, environment and grow for you. Might take a few runs just to learn the new quirks of the home.

At least you have great water. Starting with that sounds like half the battle. 👍

Carry on sir.

60 TDS.
Man you have perfect water.
The type Goldilocks would have favored~!(y)
Unfortunately I have to litter TBOHs thread with this! I know how he appreciates his truthful real experience called out as well as his distaste for my crap!

Hopefully all are laughing about the above as I all but guarantee TOBH is!

Now for the litter! Anyone that hangs on TBOHs straight knowledge thread ever grown Heath Robinsons Black Rose strain? I was gifted a 100+ beans from my Mota Miagui mentor and have 9 phenos I’m currently 3 weeks into flower with! Only thing I know so far is they are CALMAG WHORES!!!

Long story short just looking for legit advice! My mentor that grew from his early 20s until 58 quit growing almost 10 years ago and seriously is a badass but never grew in a sealed room with CO2 or with LEDs!

His dope was probably still better than mine!!!
i haven't decided yet. i've got a bunch of fems and some DFG gear I still need to rock. I'll probably just rock some fems for now because I need to get some jars filled. That's the shitty thing about such a small space, can't really pheno hunt or run multi-strain without running into various problems.
My Mota Miagui is DHF/ Dun havin Fun from ICMAG! Sent me his entire bean collection after 44 years of being an outlaw!

DJM is also a favorite ICMAG amigo!

Had no idea the was another badass that went by DFG!

Love it man!!!
appreciate it!

ya know, if i hadn't started the seeds directly from the same sealed pack, i wouldn't believe these are the same strain. the green looks closest to what i've seen of this strain but the purple/black ones align with the very minimal info I've found regarding how they can mature. definitely planning on adding some much needed info to seed finder.

Lookin really good in there tobh.
You got what, 3, maybe 4 weeks left?
yeah something like that. these girls are finishing up faster than i anticipated now, where as it seemed like they were moving slow there for a while. think once i got the temps dialed in to a more optimal range they got their shit together and decided it was go time lol

Week 4 starts tomorrow with the Black Rose beans! I have never seen a strain show purple color this early???? IMG_5015.jpegIMG_5016.jpeg

MOAB doing its thing. flowers are bulking up nicely and frost is coming on strong now. will run MOAB through Sunday, then drop back to just Part B of the base nutes at 0.4 EC for a week before starting up with flawless finish next weekend. Think they're a little over two weeks from chop now.

Looks great in there man 👊🏼

This thread is like a crime scene. You're fucking killing it dude!!
I can't take the credit, it's all the genetics. I've been pretty neglectful this run and it shows given the tent isn't overgrown.

And now that we're later in flower, I'm not convinced all those beans in the pack were the same genetics. The phenotype expressions are just too distinct to be the same cultivar imo. Just another reason I'll never buy MMS beans again

Yeeeeaaaaahhhhhhh, I've heard mixed reviews at best about Mass Medical. The flowers look nice (and the pics are great), but those are some, uh, distinct phenotypes.

quick pic drop before I go MIA for a week. They're coming around though the trichomes haven't seemed to have received the message yet. down to 0.4 EC on part B of the base nutes only. Depending on what the caretaker says during the week, I might have her transition to flawless finish before I get back, and if that doesn't happen, flawless finish will be going in on Saturday for a few days then straight water until chop. Starting to dial the lights back at this point, too.

You always think the glass is half full just like myself! Your grow looks like it will be killer in the end as usual!

Tell the boss what he deserves!

You will be good however it works out! Survivors survive, winners win or find out how to!

Well, they survived! Came home to full blown fall colors. Girls are showing off now. Trichomes are starting to come around, too, so I'll be completely resetting the res to <0.2 EC water and starting up the flawless finish. My big debate now is do i want to run the flawless finish just a few days, or for a full week, then just go to straight water after while the girls wrap up...

agreed! some of the bracts on these flowers are absolutely massive, too. getting excited for the first smoke reports sometime early next year. the black ones still smell like candy, but the now red ones have this foul stench to em. really curious if anyone will see more anxiety from one versus the other.
