Everything Ninjadip

Yeah I sat on the couch for 2 decades, decided to go back to school 4 years ago, and the offer I got is beyond my wildest expectations... It's all so insane...

I'll be going to Denver, CO, free rent for 8-12 months or however long it takes for me to get enough training to advance the role I was initially going to start at which only had 2 weeks of training. All I can think is that I fucking nailed it on the interview, they need people to fill some higher positions and chose me based on either my interview or the score I got from their proctored Mensa IQ test I took. Whatever the reason I just feel super lucky to start out at 6 figures right out of college with zero professional experience in the field.

I'm looking forward to putting my notice in at current job tomorrow morning. I'm sure HR is going to ask what they can do to keep me, and it will be funny to know they won't be able to even come close to matching the pay

Wife and myself have never been to Colorado, we both love to hike and so excited to see all the natural wonders there! Colorado looks beautiful in the videos and pictures. My cousin joked that I'm just changing mountains for other mountains lol

And thank you for asking
Bro...your moving to Colorado? JEALOUS!! I lived there for almost 10 years. If you want some recommendations I got you! One would be to go see Mesa Verde. Also Red Rocks Amphitheatre (good hiking around there too). If you wanna get into mountain biking...NOW IS THE CHANCE. CO is the #1 mtb spot imo and now there are a fk ton of awesome new trails in the Front Range (where your going). Super stoked for you brother, will have to meet up one day over there and go ski/ride/smoke.

Congrats Ninja! Your hard work is paying off!!!

I've never had weed coffee. how is that done? is it added to the coffee? or is it infused into a coffee bean?
throw a lil' infused coconut oil in the hot coffee, it adds a unique taste for sure. i like it. I have to be careful where i open the top to my coffee mug when at work though, cause a big wiff of weed smell can come out sometimes when drinking it in inside lol

Add tryptamine/l-trytophan powder

Are you just adding grounded shrooms or making extract?
ground shrooms, i'm all out now. just have 4 made choc bars stashed up now. debating on eating some today, with my time off.. lol

@ZombieRider thanks man!!! yeah, i'm so stoked!!!

@Rootsruler thanks a lot!

Wow, i really appreciate all the thanks everyone!!!! i'm nervous and excited at the same time... it's like "you want me???" lol

Sad ... Saying bye to all the grow equipment...
I won't be able to grow for at least a year.. going to pass this stuff on to a friend. I learned a lot for sure... Not sure if I'll grow again in the future or not at this point, most likely I will

Best of luck with the next chapter bro.

Dont be too sad, the stuff you learned will go with you, if you ever wanna start up again it would be like riding a bike.
Once you get at it itll all come back to ya.

Yes, it is good to give. Difficult to give over a $1000 of gear away, but healthy for my soul.

On the plus side I will be able to design the next one from the ground up with previous working knowledge. It would be almost a given to be able to improve upon the existing design now that I know its weak points first hand
Gear comes and goes. The knowledge and experience go with you.

Congratulations and sorry. Congratulations on your job and sorry you have to smoke dispo weed!!! 😉 🙂
Hopefully not for a while lol.
I'm going to have a little smoke break, going to stop after this weekend I think, and wait maybe 2 months untill getting back. I want to make sure my mind is sharp for the job training, I'm nervous and want to make sure I can prove my worth. Might sound crazy... But just really want this to work out, this is a great opportunity

Rooting for you, quite the opportunity

I'm gonna go throw a nug or two in my coffee filter and brew a pot 🤣
I know I am not up to date with all that weed can do. I wouldn't be surprised if they can't infuse it into the coffee bean. here's a thing, you can brew a pot of coffee and then dry out the grounds and smoke them lol

i'm back baby!

i got a little diy 5 gallon bucket 2 site aeroponic sprayer going on with 2 white rhinos. I lost the one white widow i had while figuring it out again unfortunately. The plan is to build up a good root system in this before going into the rdwc.

but i'm back on the saddle, just came back from 7 days without any automations in place to a happy surprise
I was terrified to leave the small one i just put in there so soon, but it's doing good down below. the young one is the replacement

1729650521902.jpeg

all the wires are for the probes, just a small pump down there with pvc pipe and nozzles on a timer(5 sec on/30min off), and air stones on low. it gets warm but is doing great now i think. *(I trimmed the bottom of the roots on the bigger one after the picture, maybe 2 inches)

Coming home to these numbers was a relief before I even opened the tent after having a small bacteria(healthy I see now) spike before leaving. Warm temps, tps billions and hydro guard saved me I think.
1729650801633.jpeg

Thankfully the 3 gallon humidifier didn't run out while we were away, I love this thing! a 2" dryer duct fits perfect on it

Nice

Usually the best way to do it too.

This way saves u valuable tent space.

small update, moving slow, but moving.
summary: another lesson learned about upping the EC too much, too fast... So i'm taking it slow for a bit with a new clone starting off.

break down:
I believe this version of me likes the hard road..
i got so excited weeks ago, and i hit the gas too hard on a res change and killed the little one. just decided to clone the survivor since I need to do something to balance them out.

Cutting has now become a clone, roots have shot. Never did get the cloning gel on time, still in transit. don't get how that shit is taking 2 weeks to get here as the fastest way via amazon (only available via 3rd party seller). For me it seems In an aeroponic system, with or without rooting hormones, it will always root, just a difference of time.

Went and got this 2k Tapo $25 camera in there i'm going to use to make some time lapse videos. to eliminate any worries about disabling the IR/Night vision the camera is powered by the same time cycles of the light.

the first roots of a cutting are always so cool to see, imo
1731899605836.jpeg

The pey0t3 cutting gifted to me last year had a growth spurt. This is my prized baby. Never done the stuff my entire life and can't wait until it is time. will need to up-pot maybe next spring or something.

I'm close to just making it a 1 plant grow, tired of pumping the brakes on this one. Waiting on the second girl to get more established.
This one is past ready for her rdwc home

One thing is certain, it seems I have good healthy roots. Always struggled with this before. Been using tps billions and hydro guard combo, on top of using RODI water for the first time.

I've been trimming the roots right above the water line too, to keep it out of the equipment and to slow it down some. I know the plant wants more nitrogen and more light...

PXL_20241127_010934931.jpg

behind schedule...

almost killed the plant as a side effect from ozoning another room without closing doors...
the big one came survived, but i had to start another second plant. got to laugh at myself, no use getting mad now.
coincidently i found one seed in my last harvest the other day from banana blaze, i decided to sprout. she's off to a good start and with a tap root long enough for both to be transplanted into final homes.

think i'm going to do the transplant today. i will be making a top off res once i get some parts in the mail i just ordered, can't seem to find a seal i needed for the connection.

from earlier this week before some pruning:

today was the day. humble new system has 2 good plants in it and going for a spin!
8 gal, 2 site, rwdc w/ chiller & top off 5 gal res

put plants in system - way overdue... stoner that I am, I find the parts I reordered right as I'm assembling everything... figures lol
reason it's so late is partly due to me waiting on the new parts in the mail that went "missing"

Video is when the pump is at 13 watts or about 50% power, still too much lol

1737000811596.jpeg
less than 50% power, still too high for plants, but good for mixing nutes

Epicenter
1 pump for the waterfall return to the 2 plant sites
1 pump for the chiller
sensors, ph down drip(assigned to ph controller), and ball float valve (my first one)

This is the regiment right now:
1737001271088.png
I'm really flying new territory starting with RODI water. I just scaled up what was working in the aeroponic bucket.
I'm very open to suggestions on what i should change up, or how should i scale up as the grow progresses.

i'm thinking of cutting the kelp completely 3 weeks before flip
maybe half the calmag 2-3 weeks before flip?

i'll take a pic of the plants in a day once they recovery from being manhandled today

Looking good bro 👌

I have found myself adding Epsom salt early on using RODI. EVERY plant of mine has shown signs of Mag deficiency.

I'm running Athena nutes this round and their feedchart calls for CaMg throughout the grow. Same when I ran Lotus nutes. With GH, I cut it way back after the stretch but never stopped adding it.

Most people have enough in their water but that RODI strips everything. You know that, though.

Those pumps are BEAST~!
Keep it submerged rather than dry/inline and it will last years.
I have been using Jeboa/Jecob DC pumps in my aquariums for years.
Real nice when you don't want to add heat.👊

why is this, do you know? is it keeping the seals from drying out?

i've found out that if i leave my pond pump submerged year long versus taking it out over the winter makes them last longer.
All the DC pumps [ even the most expensive German ones] are prone to leaking from bad plastic casting.
When it comes to inline/ dry pumps I defer to Mag flow or Blue Line.

hey @GrumpAzz !!

re epsom salt: so this is to add more mag because the GH calmag+ ratio isn't optimal for RODI water? How do I incorporate this? I imagine I would cut back on the calmag if adding more mag, but curious what ratios you used

re calmag: yes, so cut back after the stretch. sounds like a plan!

do you add any organics like kelp?

I like this brand, bloom city, that claims they have more varieties of kelp than others. I use their kelp and silica, GH trio for nutes.

i believe i only found out about the brand because of you bro, thank you!
yes, i had a bigger one and gave that to my friend when i gifted the big 4 site rdwc to him.
but man this little one is crazy impressive!
no more paint mixer on the drill to mix nutes, the pump in this system is powerful enough to mix the nutes up plenty! even at 50%!

What i'm jamming to rn:
Butterflies - boris

I usually just mix a concentrated gallon and add about 50-100 ppm to the solution.

I use Orca. It's a pretty good mix of several strains of bacteria and fungi. I add about 20ml to the plant sites after a res change.

Also use Mr Fulvic in the plant sites at the same dose.

yes, yes. i forgot all about ol' mr. fulvic, that sly mofo
i definitely believe in the science behind it. great to add in flower, right? i forget

I use it at every res change. I just don't use it on seedlings until their roots are in the water.

Oh wow.. so they recommend using it MORE on a seedling? Gonna have to remember that.
Yeah idk that either, going to order some today.

Hey grumps, do you have a nute solution in your top off res or 0ppm water?

This is my first one and I thought I just use plain water, but what I'm seeing is that as it tops off the system it is lowering my ph, causing me to have to add ph up, something I'm not used to seeing. But it makes sense.

Wondering if I should put some ph up in that top off res, or switch the ph controller to ph up instead of down and flip the setting.

Plants are looking good! Got that VPN dialed in, lights at 50%, EC started at 0.92 Wednesday and now 0.75, maybe a gallon missing from top off now, baby plant was topped beginning of the week and is sending out new side shoots on schedule, water 70-72f, roots look good, everything seems to be going good.

Funny how this design is much smaller than my last but I'm liking this one a lot lot more.
