CannaGranny’s Corner a Thread For General BS and Good Will On BudBuilders

Hey, nice bike, I used to ride like the wind, I road thousands of miles on a bike very similar, We road bikes that were 21-22lbs. My best bike was a Nishiki, a 21lb rocket A Chromolly frame 21 speed. I had a few over the years but that one was my baby, cost me a fortune in 73 at about $700 if I remember right. I still have the saddle bags I used while touring. I lived on my bikes, I could ride 100 miles easy 5-6 hrs. My legs were like motors that just ran while I sat on my seat and enjoyed the scenery. Its all in the breathing, get that right while in shape to ride and you can ride for ever.
Nice! I have another 30 mile coming up next month

I'm planning on doing a 220 mile trek next year, two day event, 110 each day. I'm psyched

I rode 1 trip Vancouver to Reading California then hit the desert and took a bus home. Another trip I took the train to San Fransisco and road down #1 to San Louis Obisbo. Another I took my bike to Hawaii in Oct 77 with the idea of riding around Oahu, then off to Maui, never made it I stayed on the beach with a bunch of hippy's till July 78.

The bike was my independence, I could move around Vancouver almost as fast as traffic or faster when it was busy, In the middle of the night I was a ghost, bike just ticking away beneath me almost silent through the night. I loved the fog, a warm Indian sweater good gloves jeans with hiking boots, and a tuque on my head,

Man I love hearing that, poetry brother

Was just reading this manual, it's crazy, they mention how the frame is lighter than two full water bottles. To think the water is almost doubling my curb weight is crazy. I'm in love with this bicycle, I felt the previous owner loved it with a similar passion as you describe your love of riding.
