No leak trail? Seal, connection or pin hole somewhere. You’ll get it. 👊
Oh i found it, def water pump, either the seal to the block or to the transfer pipe. Just no time to work on it until tomorrow

Craziest thing only leaks when not under pressure, which leads me to believe is bad seal, o-ring, or the transfer pipe needs to be reseated. First going to check if water pump bolts need to be retorqued as that is easier access before checking transfer pipe which requires removal of thermostat housing and intake manifold and is a pita

Outside of that, happy Friday!

I'm loving the intake temps with new intercooler, getting as low as 2 degrees farenheit above ambient, pretty pretty coooool! 😎
My Jeep used to get hot especially when mudding or off-roading for a while. It had a rad fan with a spring clutch. I had enough and went to drill a hole through it to put a bolt in and lock it down. The bit broke off and jammed in flush. It held for years and still kept much cooler that before. Kept warm in winter too. Sometimes we get lucky. 👊

happy friday right back to y' all!!

I missed all the Friday cheers, here's one for Saturday then!
Cheers!
I love some mystery seeds, evenPXL_20260613_155614028~2.jpg if by my own doing!
I think I wrote blueberry cupcake? Just dropped these in a moist bag, excited!PXL_20260613_135633171.jpg

No i didn't fix leak, but confirm it's water pump. Waking up early tomorrow to bring to friends garage to get out of the sun to take this shit apart

I tell you the first two years were rough, but i wouldn't trade what i have now with my wife for anything. She started calling me her best friend a few months ago and i just love it

Just added a little sticker of us below the previous custom sticker, pretty good representation of me and my best friend

Finally cleaned the car after months of sitting there, now that's she's on the road again 😁

My friends hate how unreliable my car is and how quirky she is to work on, but God damn i love driving her!! Feel like an addict, just throwing money at a habit, but fuck it, she makes me happy when she's running and I've never felt more right behind a 6 speed. Fucking 20 years old and still looks good with original paint.

my nissan piddles a little when i shut it off in the winter. only a little bit and only in the winter.. been a few years now and i still haven't changed it.. its summer now. haha

hope it goes well without it fighting you the whole way!!!!
Fixed!! Much less work than i anticipated.

Two of the 5 bolts on the water pump weren't torqued, we tightened those and not a drop of a leak since

Cheers

Always good when it’s a quick fix. Had a buddy swap tires after a flat when mudding. He forgot to tighten things up once he was back on level road and out of the muck. Almost lost his tire and had to go look for a couple lug nuts.

Now you get to drive it like you stole it. 👊🤣

Good news, i got a new job, starting next Monday. No more 1.5 hour commute for me!!! Only 12 minutes away, zero traffic, more money, bigger company, all that stuff. More data, got to pick up on my SQL and Python skills

I'm a little nervous,a lot more responsibilities, moving up that corporate ladder now, fuck. Honestly, never thought it possible given my background.

Going to have my own office, so fucking crazy, crazy me in an office!?! I passed drug test, easy mouth swab, and what's crazier is that the offer was rescinded automatically because of felonies, then they REVERSED it! Saying it was an HR glitch, that they still want me!! Just crazy ..

Oh yeah don't ever buy a mini Cooper, it's like fucking whack a mole with this car... Got more work to do on it. 😂

Great news bud!!! 🤘

Congrats man~!
Nice on trying to and doing better. I hope you like it.
I always liked the Cooper but my mechanic talked me out of them without knowing.;slap
I just asked the kind of questions a cheapskate would ask and his answers said strong no to me.
He mentioned a couple plastic internal parts~!;idk
My Volvo S80 had a plastic water pump impeller. All of a sudden one day, it would idle all day but drive it 1/4 mile and overheat.
When he showed me what was left of impeller I was blown away. Not one blade. Just disintegrated. And that was a good strong car.

Yeah it's a crazy car.. it's funny you mention the plastic, so i believe that has been my main issue. I upgraded all those plastic parts with aluminum, turns out the fitment and quality of them aren't as good as the OEM plastic, so I'm going to try installing some new OEM plastic parts and cross my fingers

My main issue is this dumb crossover/transfer pipe that carries the coolant across the back of the engine from the water pump to the thermostat housing. The o ring seals just aren't holding, I'm thinking it's just poor fitment and the OEM is what is needed.

I wish someone would have talked me out of this one before i got it... Live and learn

i would have never talked you out it, you were on a roll from the start.

i parked next to one last week, thought of you right away. had a sticker on the back that said my street legal go cart!!

fist bumps and hugs on the job my man!!!!!!!! rock it!!! and make sure you show up high so they know what you really look like from the start!! haha

My Jeep YJ was like that. Love/hate relationship.

Most likely. Has all the signs and more importantly it’s missing the specs. Watts, BTU, and other info isn’t there or at least not easily found. (Didn’t spend a lot of time there looking.)

It’s using pressure sales tactics and it’s a unknown or new brand/company.

If it was real and worth it they would list out all the specs and and show results.

I’m sure your gut feeling was raising alarms, that’s why you asked here.

Up to you but I’d walk away without a brick and mortar store and a lot more specific details.

The cooling part of it doesn't make sense but maybe it's a good heater.

The cooling technology is sound but when air is passed over a radiator to be cooled the radiator must be filled with chilled fluid and it stays chilled even when the hot air goes over it.

How does the cooling system work?
Coolzy uses advanced heat exchange technology for fast and efficient cooling. Warm air is drawn through the vents, passed over cooling coils that absorb the heat, and then blown back into the room as refreshing, chilled air. Condensation evaporates inside the unit, so there's no need for drain hoses, water tanks, or any complicated setup.

Most often times the result is a swamp cooler but if you can sustain super cold temp in the fluid inside the radiator it can become an air conditioner exactly like the cooling used in hi rise buildings, using a chiller instead of an AC unit on top of or next to the building. Like a hospital for example will have an adjacent building that's a big ass chiller to cool the hospital.

ChillX and Hydro Innovations got me into this stuff with my hot running grow room and I set it up for a few runs around 10 years ago. In our world we called it The Ice Box.

Another issue with this is condensation. It produces a lot so when I used this type of cooling, it required a catch bucket for all the water produced and it effected RH in the grow. Most swamp coolers either have a drain hose or collection bucket for this.

The problem with that device is that it somehow uses magic or witchcraft if it does not need ice cold water or a compressor to work. Maybe alien tech? It cools warm air but does not produce condensation so it somehow defies dew points and the laws of physics.

If this technology was real, it would change the world as we know it.

It takes about 400 watts, 8000 BTU, and continuous operation to cool down a 10x10 room from 90s to 70s and would take probably 12000 BTU and close to 1000 watts to get that temp down in the 60s.
It takes crazy power to cool air or massive chillers man and for all the tech and shit we have in this world we cannot get past the laws of physics when it comes to cooling air.
The best we seem to be able to do is change up the fluids inside the radiators and fan motors/blades but the physics stay the same.
