I got a lot of detail, because when we did google searches on him, we found he was mentioned in a book (on Google Books) about homeless people in NYC during the 90s. It was written by a researcher from the Netherlands. It was pure luck that this guy was on the streets of NY, interviewing homeless people around the time of his murder.Curious, how did you find him? I have a good friend that went off the radar many years ago and I can’t find any online record of him.
When he spoke to some of them, they were all in a frenzy because some guy stabbed "Walter" to death, and then they added some grisly detail of the death. Later, the researcher went by the overpass he lived under, and there was a hand written note about "Walter Dorfman" who was killed there, and that he was loved by his family and friends.
It was a book with a title something like "Tunnel People," or similar.
