super blue dream in the ground, sativa in white, 15 gal fabric pots, skunk #1 seedling will go into a black 10 gallon fabric pot.

Super blue dream and sativa were clones, skunk is from seed.

Clones cut in late 2023, seed popped 5/2.

All plants have been in the ground or large planters for just over a week.

They all started really praying about midweek this past week.

Yesterday, everyone received a pretty significant haircut.

Days are long, warm to hot and dry here.

Everyone had a spa day today.
Starting with a good breakfast, plenty of H2O and as much high intensity radiation as sol can send our way.

Temperature expected in the low nineties, last humidity reading I took was early this morning, 27%.

They get water twice a day and pray for more of everything. They seem happy but my blue dream had to reveg as it was cut from a plant in flower. It won’t grow more than three leaflets per leaf???

this was yesterday, it was warm, but not uncomfortable. With this kind of humidity (or lack there of), high temperatures are easy to live with, but it requires a lot of water.

today we’re supposed to be in the nineties, but that was yesterdays story too, so let’s see.

Plants are loving the heat, the sativas have a light green glow on their growth points indicating rapid growth (like early stretch colors), I’m guessing that they are about to get big. It’s still nearly 10 weeks of vegetative growth before a true stretch (around July 31, if past performance is any indication).IMG_6322.jpegIMG_6321.jpeg

A cold front, unexpected until it showed up, dropped in over much of northern Ca. Yesterday. Much cooler temps yesterday (low 80s) and today (lucky to hit the 80s) prompted me to turn off the irrigation until Sunday.

The entire week is now expected to cool down after a monday warm blip.

I’ll probably flip the irrigation system off for a day or two at a time when temps fail to exceed 85.

It’s not so much the heat here as it’s the heat and low humidity here. These cool periods are actually appreciated but causes more manual intervention than I care for. Boo hoo! I’m growing weed, I should just get over it huh? :)

Blue dream grew a foot in 9 days.

Sativa didn’t gain much height but is gaining mass, which doesn’t seem very sativa like at all, but…

Finally, skunk #1 is about a foot tall and growing rapidly now. IMG_6908.jpegIMG_6907.jpegIMG_6906.jpegIMG_6906.jpegIMG_6905.jpegIMG_6912.jpeg

Love your exotics as much as your cannabis. Beautiful gardens man. 👍

@TomH , Did they get that fire contained? Hope you're safely back at home.
No, last report is 33%, all evacuations are still in place.
Power came back to the house (based upon contact with the HVAC unit, but no word from officials when we can get back.

I may lose my skunk #1 as it was still depending upon hand water (I was about to plumb it to the irrigation when the deputy came by and things got crazy.

Sorry, man. Losing a plant would be less bad than losing your home, but I hope you get back in time to save Skunk #1. It's okay to want it all :) Wishing you luck and hope you get cleared to return home, soon.

Looks like we got the big government thumbs up 👍 to go back.

We’re cleaning up, packing up and heading back.

I discovered that I forgot my wallet at home. I’m hoping that won’t be an issue getting back.
Excellent news!

I hope everything is as good as you left it. Look forward to hearing about the Skunk #1👍

best thing i heard all day!!! glad your stuff is safe!!!
.

if they don't let ya in tell them you're Dave!!! :ROFLMAO:

The garden loved the vacation! All the plants said they didn’t miss me at all! Damn :(. But at least I know they are self sufficient! ;)

Everything not on automatic sprinklers was VERY dry, the cactus didn’t really give a crap, yet but the succulents were certainly showing stress.

I think I’ll figure out a way to plumb the succulents and cactus and water them automatically, but only once or twice a week. The controller we have outside now is a POS, I can’t do anything except serial watering (Schedule a zone, then every zone after will water too). IT’s stupid.

Any good recommendations?

This is what we all look like today.
Everything appears to be growing well, there are white hairs everywhere on the blue dream, I don’t think it’s setting buds yet, just stating that it’s ready to go!!!View attachment 62408View attachment 62409View attachment 62410View attachment 62411View attachment 62412View attachment 62413View attachment 62414View attachment 62415View attachment 62416View attachment 62417View attachment 62418View attachment 62419View attachment 62420
Wow!!
How far is that from your home? Scary stuff for sure!

glad your home was safe!!!!

.

i use one of these for auto watering and really like it. you can program or run from bluetooth. oops sorry it looks like they don't sell the model i have antmore... it looks like it's now wifi not bluetooth..

As we start the slow slide down towards the shortest day of the year, a mere six months away 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😬😬😬
Plants are happily clicking along. Sucking up every drop of water I can throw at them.
They grow big and fast.
Every day is like mid stretch growing. It’s freaking awesome to watch but a little worrisome. I can hide them for another couple feet, but I’m seriously thinking about breaking some branches and going horizontal for a couple weeks.
They aren’t massive but I’d like them to remain hidden from prying eyes. IMG_7105.jpegIMG_7104.jpegIMG_7103.jpegIMG_7100.jpegIMG_7097.jpegIMG_7094.jpegIMG_7095.jpegIMG_7096.jpeg

Hey! Do experience outdoor growers thin out the vegetation on their plants?

I’ve kept the center open, but otherwise just let them grow wild.
Should I be giving these girls a haircut?

One thing my lady and I were talking about, as an experiment:
Since we have two sativa clones in identical 15 gal pots, we are going to schwaz one going into flower and at day 23, and let the other grow unfettered.

It’ll be interesting to watch the two plants and see how they take to that difference.
