Grump's Kitchen Sink Grow 🌱

Today starts the second week since I flipped.

I snipped a few shoots off of every cola last night. Some looked like they wanted to be the main cola themselves.

Nothing much to update but I figured I aughta wrap up the first week with a pic

I just realized I flipped on the lights for this picture... color me stupid 🤣

Edit... wow. So the other day I noticed my light was back on an older setting. 48:96:96

That was before I turned the light up all the way. I must've done something stupid for that to happen.

Either way... it wasn't just the spectrum. It went back to 18/6. Lame. I can't say when that happened but it's been 2 or 3 days. Color me even stupider 🤣

no, they have stupid software.. my only gripe...

so go into calendar, then set routine...
004.JPG002.JPG

make sure it's at the max 23 weeks.. i wish it would go forever and not time out. once 23 weeks hits it automatically moves to the next routine.,,

at the begining of each grow i just remember to hit the red RESET and i just never reach the 23 weeks...

Ok word.. lame 🤣

So this was the first grow I even messed with the calendar. Right now, main menu, it shows w-- d--. Does that mean it's not running a routine and it'll stay where I set it? Or do I need to go mess with it again?

shit i don;'t know.. didn't know you could make the calendar blank.. haha let me mess with mine since i already changed everything on it... maybe if i set that number to 00 it might not need it.... if thats the case then i have no idea how your settings changed!!! hahaha

i mess around a bit and see what i come up with...

Checking the AC Infinity app shows that they had two days that went 18 hours. The heater never runs while the light is on so it was easy to track.

so when i reduce the routine to 0 weeks 0 days it blanks out the calendar like that... i kinda with i would have known this years ago when it first caused me problems!! haha back then i only used it for veg and wish it was more like a timer... now that i use the calendar i don't think i could go without it.. keeps track of my weeks for me!!

View attachment 114596here's what mine is right now.......I have no program...for me it's a timmer +++

EDIT,,,,,it did say that time a while ago

This is what I do too. It's just a fancy dimmer and timer for me. No calendar here either.
I only use one program then adjust it's spectrum and change it's timer as it goes.
There's also a sunrise/sunset feature I use. I set it for 5 minutes so it takes 5 minutes to go full bright at lights on and 5 minutes to dim to dark at lights off.

Like opening a can of worms i don't need.
I will get to the sunset/rise this run. Go fur quality this one over quantity. So the gentle sunrise wouldn't hurt.
That's the only one that would do anything for me, never really cared for the lights just blasting on all at once, helps the gear I would suppose too

Intuitively, sounds like it.

But I've never had this light, thinking about getting it down the line, CLW?

It would be better if sunset/sunrise features were actually called warm up and cool down functions IMO.
The idea that using that feature somehow gets a plant closer to nature or whatever marketing they use for it is pure 'bsbutton
Plants don't know the difference when it's artificial lighting so really, yeah exactly, it's something to use that might lessen the wear of your equipment. It won't enhance or harm your garden in any noticeable way other than a possible placebo effect.
When CLW came out with this stuff they were ahead of everybody and all the extras like mulitple programs and calendars were way ahead of others in 2016.
Now most lights have a sunrise/sunset thing as a result

i use the sunset deal too.. gotta be easier on the drivers..

i only first started using the calendar because i didn't know what i was doing when i first got it and had all kinds of settings wrong. i "think" i understand all the settings by now.. probably not though!!!

i kinda like having it now. i reset it when i drop, then again when they go in soil and again sometimes when i flip. just helps me keep track is all.

the big deal for me was the battery backup on the time. when i first got mine smart timers weren't popular yet and i was constantly resetting timers when the power would go off. this controller/light changed my life just because of this only!! the thing that had me really bonkers is when the battery inside went dead.. every time my power went out the clock will reset to midnight. i had no idea of it for months. i lost clones and everything because stuff was revegging and i had no idea why.. my power goes out at least once a month so it was really screwing with it. i never once looked at the clock on it because it was only a veg light at the time and i didn;t touch anything so i never looked. once i figured it out it was an easy fix.. but yeah if you guys turn off your controller switch and turn it back on and the time goes back to midnight you need a new battery.

Yeah agreed on that in terms of wording to get the $$. It's a business after all. Back then I do remember it was crazy with what they brought to the light market.
I remember looking at them, thinking I'd never be in that market so I just neverminded it...
Fast forward to WTF village, I've gone total CLWs ...

It's good trem:warm up: cool down....

The week counter is cool, I'm could see it being a good record keeper.

I could see being used to it, and on routine.
I have learned not to confuse myself with the settings.... I do belive it will turn 3 shades of 5 shades of timed moonbeam b.s......hehe

Nah man on this one I've got didn't take long for me to figure the red was through the roof, and the white...
Speaking of light...time to trun mine up a little...

Well since I fucked up my first week of flower, I decided to clean em up a bit.

I stripped more of the base on each cola and any of the new runners I could get my scissors on. Fuck it. Nothing but up from here.

That's a little before and after pic.

This is just a little lo mein.

@BlueCollarBob, was it you that referred to me when mentioning high stress training?

If I'm doing any kind of HST, it's how often I take the scissors to 'em. They recover and rebound so quickly in hydro, it's hard for me to leave 'em alone sometimes.

Here I'm trying to help the main colas get all the energy and not all their little runners. I won't touch them again, until they've stopped stretching. Then they'll get another whackin'.

I wish my fuck ups resulted in plants that look this nice 👊

That was me. I'm sure I used the wrong terminology. If I'm seeing it right, I thought what you have going on with the two nodes giving you four branches to tied down and train was along the lines of mainlining. Whatever it is, I like it. Neat and clean looking set up.

Thanks buddy.

I started doing the mainlines when I went from 1 plant to 4. I was scared of root rot from the beginning, so I didn't want all 4 plants meshed into the same screen.

I did 8 colas, then 6. They just get so bushy and, for some reason, I hate when they grow into each other's space. I couldn't say why, it just does 🤣

Yeah I'd say it's back on. They're filling out quick.
20250929_124409.jpg20250929_124400.jpg

I dropped my SolarSystem down another 2 feet to crank it up, basically doubling the intensity. They're all seeing roughly 600 ppfd now.

I dropped the humidity in the tent to around 50%, bringing the VPD into the 1.4 range.

We're gonna see some pretty awesome growth out of these in the next 2 weeks. I don't think I've ever pushed my plants this hard. I've never been one to move my light up and down. Until I got the right filter for the Photone app and was able to measure my ppfd, I just left the light as high as it could be mounted.

Big roots, big fruits 🍌

Got the tiniest little bit of tip burn and some tacoing goin' on. Nutes are being top-fed half strength but I'm leaving the light where it's at. Gotta crack the whip.

Otherwise they're looking good and stretching out like they're supposed to.
