Mr.G’s Greenpoint Grow

You've got great looking plants. I'm new to the indoor scene and to make things harder on myself I'm using RO water. If u don't mind a question...how to u feel about calmag. I see some guys adding quite a bit and w great success in their grows. W me it pushes my ppm so damn high there's barely enough room for any nutrients since I'm trying to stay in the 500-700 range. 700 the max. I'm currently in promix.
I'm not sure what medium ur in or if using RO...but where do u stand w calmag usage in your grows? I'm taking in as much as I can from successful growers. So anyone can chime in w thoughts if they'd like.

I'm working w another grower on here who's possibly the best I've ever seen. He uses up to 10ml religiously and kills it every single run. Plus tries to stay at 500-600ppm. Well 10ml for me puts me damn near 500ppm. No room for nutrients. I'd just like other perspectives. Not trying to hijack your thread here but w such a nice grow u got going on I thought it'd be a good place to get some insight and opinions.

I’m using promix as well, and use tap water that sits at approx 125ppm, with using tap water I only add calmag at 2ml/l, sometimes I will raise that if the plants are showing deficiencies. I’m more of a visual grower and try to supply the plants with just enough.
You can feed at higher PPM than 600 if you’re consistent with watering with sufficient runoff, and not allowing too much nutrient buildup.
Im sure you’re referring to @SSHZ, he’s a vet, and his consistency is a result of the more you grow the more you know.

Notice the stretchy purple blizzard at the back, that one is probably not getting enough light and needs moved, when I get in there this week to defol, I’ll mix the 2 strains up and group them better by size. Colas are going to suffer with all this stretch.

Maxac in better early flower progression,
Both strains sucking 5gal promix dry in 48hrs.

Cal/mag deficiencies are normally the first to show up, since marijuana is a heavy user of both. R.O. devices specifically remove most if not all of both, that is why additional is needed. If your starting ppm is high or higher, normally it's chock full of cal/mag already and less is needed to be added.

I normally run cal/mag high in veg, and start cutting back in flowering......but as stated, every circumstance is different and what works for me may not work for others. I've stated in my current and last grow, i need to make more of an effort to keep ppm in the 450 range and not go much above that, as some strains are more sensitive and react poorly over time. The Biscotti is a perfect example of that- some of those plants are doing poorly, while the All Starz is breezing thru it all.

It's best to start low and build up rather than hit them with an abnormally high ppm. Learn to read your plants, they will tell you what you need to know if you listen.

Rt now that's my downfall, reading them. You,sshz, are just amazing. I've told u that 1,000,001 times. I'm absorbing everything I can from everyone. My RO starts at zero. This next run I may put on here and see what the masses think. I got tremendous help last round and it turned out very nice, about 3/4 of them anyway.
I've grown outdoor mostly guerilla style since mid 90s and mother nature takes care of me. Indoor is a different ballgame.
Is it something u add w every watering, every other, or just when they show signs of needing a dose? I've got no quit in me so I'll keep trying.

My opinion is it should be at 5ml per gallon with every watering.......depending on whether you are using r.o. water and your starting ppm is. That's a minimum position. If you start seeing rust spots, tacoing, or funky sun leaves- I'd bump it up some until things improve. You've asked others here, so I'll let them respond........

I add it at every water as well, if you’re going ml/gal? At 5ml/1gal. as a Canadian, I stick to metric with liquid measure. 2ml/l which would be roughly 7.5ml/gal.
I’m sure your using more calmag than you used to since switching to LED.
