Seems to be draining off/out the pots.

Seems just the moms.

Ive been flooding pots in the sink with sprayer, I'm putting the moms to flower.

Well when you leave you're coco in a very small container and it's basically just roots, it basically can be/come hydro, where the roots are always in water, and the plant will/should be just fine with it given O2.

I was going to put it in the bucket and set it up for a hydro system, just a 3gallon bucket with nutrient solution and a pump to stir it and add o2 with a air line that runs into the pump and fuses with the water stream pumping out.

And SCRog her out in the flower space but don't have the room for that
 
Sometimes I let it sit in the run off over night and it doesn't dry out, not good practice but it can work.

Basically, bottom feeding
 
I've never had a coco grow without springtails. I don't know if they're attracted to it or come in with it or what, but I had them every time I ran coco. Never seemed to cause any problems, but annoying to see them. Was one of the reasons I ditched coco for wool.
 
I've not noticed or seen them AT ALL till I moved here and got set back up.

Now they are here on a few of the older coco plants.

I've read they can actually be beneficial on established plants, they go after any decaying organic matter, so any roots that aren't making it won't be there sitting around, just flush the springtails out and I've been lightly spraying with a 1/3 vinegar/water mix on the pots.

But yea fuck em, I don't want any bugs in my grow, "sterile".

I'm planning on moving to rockwool soon, but it seems to cost a little/bit more than coco.

Canopies look fine enough though so 🤷‍♂️
 
Yeah I'm with @Aqua Man on this one. It's a oxide so pretty much inert unless it's some slower conversation taking place with maybe some bacteria or fungi

I would steer clear of it as there's a lot better sources available
 
On a little side note I think citric acid if it's balanced correctly and used in millimolar amounts or even salicylic acid can be effective against insects and still be useful to the plants also


I think the best one personally is using the tricontonal or however it's spelled the bee's wax carbon chain fatty acid plant hormone. Have too cook it like a crack rock to make it soluble 😆

This dissolve insect exoskeleton I think, and beneficial to the early flowering especially

Beating back insects or pathogens should always be a multi prong approach IMO

pH targeting 🎯 and plant vigor are especially important here

ive read about it briefly and the few methods of making youre own, ive yet to get on it, triacontanol and silica +base nutrients will be looking pretty good there, then down the line get even more specific into the chemistry, and playing around with hormones

Now I don't have annoying fan blocking the light height, was attempting to get the lights closer to the top.

Will have to use wires and take em off the

Don't have any ENV controllers, or the Huey hooked up to a controller, it overpowers the tent on low, so can't keep heat IN if I have to let "RH" out.

A balancing Act

Trying to balance the environment out better and get a little more heighth space, get some inches back lol.

Was at 90 rh before I woke up and got to it.

Currently doing 16hours 150~ PPFD.

Trying to get the seedlings right so they don't stretch much, can't decide if more light hours, lower PPFD, or higher PPFD and less light hours....


Still figuring that kind of shit out.

Went ahead and planted some more seeds properly in this time actually down in the holes and not just....in the hole laying there.


Tap root was having a hard time penetrating through 😜

Basically already fucked up the first attempt run lol, actually need to bury the seed

Sure can. A lot of people find it difficult to root clones in rockwool because they hold too much water. Same for seedlings. Need to keep them on the very dry side at first. Small feedings from the bottom only when they're lightweight, otherwise the roots don't explore or worse, can rot.

Glad it's not JUST me, lol, figuring that out, I've had 0 clone success in the wool so far, leaning towards too wet.

Now I know, I'll start allowing for more of a dry back and not being so anal/worried if they dry too much, and probably need to turn the auto-water off or have it do even less, till i get something established.

I could fill the tents up all year long with coco and let em go, but that gets boring.

Like to learn.

Liking that I don't have "dirt" everywhere and so much space for soil/media, get more out of less.

Take the rope hangers off.
Then tqke the metal brackets and use them as mounting hooks. Or use those giant caribeaner clips vipar sent. Thats how i have my xs hanging. Lol

Those carabineers will work perfectly perhaps, I was taking the ratchets off and trying to put the lights through the metal brackets but a an inch or two too tight on the driver up top and said fuck it.

Ah I just don't have enough carabineers or the big ones Atleast, probably just use the plant wire I got recently and put it through the holes

I may get a cheap CO2 system too

Yeah anything needs oxygen to the roots somehow brother. Oxygen at the roots is equally important as the moisture itself


Putting a fan or air flow into the base of everything is helpful as well cause your creating new contact with the roots at a cellular level


But the caveat then becomes keeping it moist, lol thus the equilibrium to be maintained at the roots level regardless of methods used

Having hanging LED with adjustable hanger is really useful for optimal penetration and then using the dials to get the intensity correct


Having both of those variables seem very useful to me

Interesting.

I was given three blocks of rockwool when I bought rooting gel. My first time trying clones.

Tried twice. Both failed. Switched to soil, peat puck or just a container or water. No problems, just different amounts of time before roots.

Rockwool is it’s own learning curve, for me anyway. 🤷‍♂️🤣

That balance seems to be very "fine" in RW.
