Tails started showing on 3/4 of the germinated seeds, so in to 4" pots with the base soil mix and under the light they go. I've also got some other seedlings started for outdoor pots - Habanero Peppers, Strawberries, Heirloom Lettuce, Purple Beans, and Green Beans.

• 2x Quebec Gold 2.0

If I get at least 2 strong growers I will run 2x3 gallon pots, and if I get one alpha then I will just do 1x7 gallon pot. My tent should be arriving today and then I will get the SE3000 set up.

The Green Crack seeds are a freebie bag in my stash so I don't know much about them unfortunately, and I don't even remember where they came from lol. This is the info on the Quebec Gold:

I'm not looking to get murdered sooooo sneaky bong rips into the tent won't be on my list of things to try! haha

I got 4 seeds in some paper towel germinating right now but I am 95% sure I will just do one plant in a 7 gallon pot. 5% of me figures I might do a 2x3 gallon grow if 2 of the seedlings look strong. My tent should get delivered tomorrow and then it's go time.

@ninjadip I've also been considering grabbing a roll of activated carbon filter material. Any thoughts or tips on how to block up my intakes? I mean the simple answer is tape or something but I figure its best to reach into the think tank

I think a good option would be to find a filter that you can self fill with charcoal granules. Not sure if the roll will give you comparable results, but it be interesting to experiment.

Got some goodies in today, and 1 out of 4 of my weed seeds poked through the soil so it's officially go time!

Vivosun 4" inline exhaust fan kit with a controller for speed(1-10) and some timer settings (10on 50off, 30on 30off, 50on 10off). Setup was fairly straight forward aside from the fact that this tent is designed for midgets and my 6 foot ass was having a time and a half mucking around inside trying to get things situated correctly to maximize growing space.





Seedling update - 1 of the Green Crack seeds has popped through(bottom left), 2 of my lettuce seeds, 2 of the Purple Beans, 2 of the Green Beans and it looks like one of the Cucumber seeds is just about right there as well.

I am mostly worried about smells creeping out of the passive intakes. I will have a canister filter on the outside of the tent for the main exhaust. At the very least I will just cut up squares of the activated carbon roll and cover the intakes, but I am still considering making a cardboard or plastic box to have something a little more purpose built. I suppose it will be trial and error and not really something I need to stress over for a few months.

Yeah i couldn't find anything worth while for passive intakes, I tried a few filter pucks but nothing was close to a dedicated intake with a carbon filter and closing off all passive vents

I don't think I will be able to fit a dedicated intake fan and another carbon filter sadly. But theoretically there shouldn't be much smell escaping from the passive intakes...assuming that I am running negative pressure inside of the tent and have the exhaust fan running 24/7. I am going to run with the cut-up squares of activated carbon filter and try to get them fixed to the inside of the tent to cover up the passive intakes. The added side benefit is that it should also help with any light trying to leak in during flower.

sometimes i like to add neem cake to my soil, in couple days the surface will cover with mold.. looks funky but it's for a good thing.

Are you able to put the exhaust fan inside the tent at the top, filter on intake side? And maybe just the motor of the intake fan out of the tent with the filter inside the tent on the exhaust side?

I don't have any numbers but i imagine the VOCs in the room are exponentially less using intake and exhaust as the intake will catch any lingering VOCs in the room space that might be there, say from opening the tent, or anything else.

Hopefully you fare better than me, but the intake filters were like night and day for me from passive intake filters, even with negative air pressure. It's funny i had to get two intakes because i was getting too much negative pressure with just one and all the vents closed. I got a way overpowered exhaust fan that was on sale at the time and then tried to cheap it with the intakes lol

Oh btw,i am leaning towards some seeds I have that say blueberry something on them for next run, i think it says blueberry cupcake. I know you asked before and I had no idea what i was gonna do

Things are pretty darn tight in there but I get what you're saying - I might just leave things as they are for now and adjust if/when the gf starts complaining. She's going to have to understand that there may be moments where she gets a whiff but I will do the best that I can to mitigate them. I am still trying to brainstorm a way of attaching the rectangles of cut up activated carbon filter roll to the passive intakes without poking holes or damaging the tent. Maybe I will pop in to the hardware store today and see if anything sparks a lightbulb.

I love blueberry strains! I remember one of my first grows was using a blueberry hybrid and they are short/fat gals that are very easy to grow. Looking forward to following along with that one

Hell yeah! Not all mold is bad mold. I do get a bit concerned when I see it before a seedling has germinated/popped through the soil, but as long as something has sprouted I don't get overly concerned about it. Just means that the soil is active and that's a good thing.

Duct tape will have to do for now, it's not really sticking to the outside of the tent so I might grab some Gorilla tape and re-tape the ones on the outside. I used 4 rectangles - one on the inside and one on the outside for both of the passive intakes. I guess we shall see how it goes.

i bet you are getting plenty of air throughput. I wonder if what you got with what i had tried in the vent holes could compliment each other?

those are pretty cool! I think I've got one hole left to use in the tent, I will see if I can find these on the Canuckland Amazon.

Weekly Monday Update~

The seedlings are starting to kick it into veg mode! I will most likely get them transplanted into 3 gallon fabric pots near the end of this week and get them started on nutrients. At that point the veggie seedlings will be evicted and they will have to fend for themselves outdoors.

Humidity has been atrocious so I added a small little 1L humidifier that runs on/off for 30 second intervals 24/7. I also grabbed some of the 4" circular carbon filters that @ninjadip recommended so now I've got all of the passive intakes filtered with activated carbon. Last thing I'm waiting on is my clip on fan that I ordered from Amazon a few weeks ago but the shipment got delayed which hasn't been ideal but thankfully there hasn't been any issues with weak stems.



All of the fruits & veggies that I germinated have sprouted into seedlings and are growing. Strawberries were slow going so hopefully they aren't too small to survive outdoors.

Oh and last but not least but I have modified my soil mix this run. I am doing my usual mixture but have changed the ratio a bit to accommodate the added sea soil.

40% Pro Mix BX
30% Sea Soil
20% Worm Castings
10% Perlite
