Stoney's Luv Shack

man he really stunk it up on sunday!!! i can't believe i got a 7 from the 1!!! thats a score right there!!

next up is bristol baby!!! guess who i have??? your wife and i will be rooting together!!!!!! last week i had to root for a douche, the week i gotta root for the douche nozzle!!!! got the 8 for both bristol races this year!!

man i've been saying it for years, darlington has needed a face lift for a long time now!! the track was awesome before safer barriers. that cushion took away a half groove that was the best groove on the track and changed the way stock cars have approached it. the true darlington stripe isn't a thing anymore and i wish these guys wouldn't shove it down our throats. before safer barriers the track would have a slight bow to it in the exit of the corner going into the straight away.. this was the stripe. fucked up all kinds of drivers!!! made for awesome racing but i will say this darlington was one of those tracks that needed safer barriers!! so for the longevity of drivers i'm glad they did it.

but it's just time for a change... a big change to that track.. if you can't go outwards anymore than use the inside more and change the angle a little.

history is cool and all but those guys aren't here anymore, their cars aren't around anymore and things just aren't as slow as they once were. the throwback theme is awesome and i'm glad they started it a few years ago but it ain't enough to hide a shitty race track anymore.

he runs the double!??! very cool man!!! Larson runs the triple this weekend... bristol BABY!!!!!!!

ahhh yeah!!! thats the good stuff!!!!! 10:1 like it says.. enough for ten gallons of cleaner.. your wife will have you cleaning the house windows with it!!!

so if you were to bring your ride to me i would use my foamer to lay on some clean slate...
View attachment 96386

then because of where you drive i would i heavily saturate the entire exterior in de-iron.. both brands highly recommended.. then re-foam with a softer soap after the de iron.. double wash but's worth it!

View attachment 96387

then use my dual action buffer with a hex pad to lay on some flex wax... this stuff was designed for black paint!!! it's my go to on high end details, not the easiest and fastest but the best quality!! has a matching compound but from all the photos i've seen your truck doesn't need to be polished.. i'd personally leave the clear coat in tact and not buff it out, modern cars have a layer of clear coat thinner than a post-a-note.. most shitty detailers just pound it with a DA to make it quick and easy to make a better buck.. in turn they burn most of the clear coat right off instead of cleaning it properly. thats not me and i don't do that.

so if you had any deep scratches to take out i'd hand polish it and then use the DA to lay the wax on.

View attachment 96388

then once all finished with the paint i would swab your tires with this dressing and then wipe down all plastics with 303..

View attachment 96389

and that would be a full on luv shack spit shine!!!!!!!!!

loose connectors are a problem on car audio quite often because the abuse they endure. especially doors, they get jarred constantly. i like to mechanically hold the wire on the speaker lug then solder it fast. it takes a bit longer but it's never coming loose!!

seven different strains in flower this round.. bro even i can't keep track!!! haha i'm gonna take them all out and rearrange them all once again after the stretch and put the net on top again to help keep the branches separated.

two other strains in hydro and the monkeys now in SIP set for outdoors in about six weeks.

hahahaha be messed up if gulf water gave my plants a rash!!! haha

me too man, nothing ever compares.

only one way to find out!!!!!!!

thats gotta be close to what sea-90 is.. mix with water and get sea water.

i've had this bag forever now, i don't use it..

View attachment 96396

sea water man, not bay water!! i got my pond water, that works okay.. kinda shitty!!! hahaha

Dude...you're gonna laugh at what I used to clean my interior today before going in to the sound shop.....

Yeah...I'm pathetic.
I've only had a car detailed once and that was my old hybrid before we drove it to NOLA and I can tell ya man they didn't use anything like what you use and do. I guess that's why I only had it done once and even that was with a Groupon.
Maybe one of these days I'll get a kit and do it up right because it needs it pretty bad.

Truck goes in the shop Friday and I hope to get it back same day but install might go into Saturday. Having the whole thing redone and this time installing an amp too. They offered an upgrade and trade for the new Pioneer into a bigger and better JVC with something that looked like a TV screen it was so big so I took it. Kinda didn't want another Pioneer anyways but took it for the savings. They just moved the same savings to another $1000 head and marked it down for me.
Will get Focal component speakers after a side by side comparison with coax 6x9s. Asylum 4 channel amp and all the other shit to make it work with my back up camera, USB, and steering wheel interface. Not happy with cost but after being showed how Best Buy fucked up my install and not wanting to pay for mental therapy, I'm down with it. They're gonna give me lifetime warranty on install too so if anything gets loose they fix it for free. Hopefully no later than Saturday afternoon my truck is thumpin' again!

i get compliments a lot and repeat customers so i must be doing something right. i use all good usa made products and everybody seems to respond well to that. i charge $200 for a full detail inside and out. $100 for just each an interior or exterior. and stains or paint correction is on a quote basis once i see it.

kind of curious, do you remember what you paid back then?

Too funny about the glob of slime!!!🤣
I'd put it like this....Yes it works. It doesn't do great but it does pick up loose dust and get in cracks. It's weird and I kinda like it but doubt I'll buy another. Might be better than qtips though in those corners and crevices.

That detail was new years of 2018 and I think it was $120 but the Groupon made it $80 then I got hustled on wax which added another $120 overall so yeah man like $200 and it wasn't what I'd call a detail. Exterior was done in a car wash then wiped down and interior was done by hand but I know they didn't really "detail" it because the dead bee that was on the back window sill was still there when they were done lol.
I know about the guys who do work like what you do and they're way different.
#1 is they go to the car and customer don't bring the car to them so they're always mobile.
The jobs they do take around 5-7 hours. I know because I have a couple rich neighbors who use these guys on their hummer and Teslas and they're there nearly all day. I think they charge by the hour and it's around $100-$150 so one detail job on a big ass Hummer would be like around $500-$600 and that big bastard is immaculate after.

Yeah they're gonna pants me on the install. There goes all the joy of paying off a CC and the horror of nearly maxing it out again on a fucking freezer and sound lol.

i have a few gimmick cleaners like that laying around that i never use...

007.JPG

honestly the only tool i really use for interiors is one of these... add some air or all purpose cleaner if needed and i never found a spot it can't clean, and quick too!!! also works great on the lug nuts of wheels!!

my clients at the HOA's love my full service deal, i pick it up and bring it back.. they don't want to deal with it and don't want the mess in their driveway!! so i'm the guy!!!

but yeah i'll spend 5-7 hours easy.. and i'm hustling by myself to get it done!! most times Cindy helps me. she like to ckean windows and i hate that part so it;s an awesome team!! right now i'm getting calls for full details.. people want their rides fresh for the sprig and like to wait just after april showers... i got a few weeks yet and i will be booked solid till june. then it's mostly just touch ups and one offs.. in the summer i'll hit the HOA's and touch up three or four a day!!!! its a seasonal job for sure but i enjoy it a lot!

Yeah they're gonna pants me on the install. There goes all the joy of paying off a CC and the horror of nearly maxing it out again on a fucking freezer and sound lol.

hopefully they hook you up with a nice power lead, that will show the quality and effort right from the start... if you open your hood and see a nice fat 2awg wire going to the amp then they're pros!! my stereo wire is thicker than the whole vehicle runs from!! this tells you if they went all out or just mounted stuff and connected it to the factory fusebox. a fat lead ensures you never have dash light fade when the bass thumps. in turn causing unneeded abuse to your electrical system.

004.JPG

i'm also an imaging junkie.. i like the bass and mids but i also like the symbols in a band to smack me in the face when i'm driving.. i have tweeters in my windshield pillars and a set in the top side of my doors all with full crossovers in between. the ones built into the rearview mirrors are also badass too and IMO the best tweeter location on a vehicle!

you guys see a new season of street outlaws on discovery? locals only edition.. i missed that show a lot and glad to see it back on.

My old man pays 480 to have his mustang done twice a year.
In the spring and in the fall before he parks it.
The guy comes 2 days and does all my dads vehicles for 1500.... he's nuts imo, I get the mustang. But his 2008 f250? Why

Damn I didn't even see it was out of stock! My bad guys 🥴

i gave em an email, maybe they'll be back in stock before the sales up, plus that wasn't t only cool piece they have. i'll check em out more.. but honestly i'm still nowhere even close to being bored with my new glass...

man most of people i do work for are nuts!! it's why i keep going back!! hahaha

but i get it, i have clients and they like what they like.. i don't judge, i just say yeah i can do that!! whatever you need..

i really need to raise my rates though. nobody ever even blinks at my invoices and 90% of the time i get tipped. i also get given stuff a lot, mostly things that require fixing but still better quality than i own.

like last week a guy asked me to assemble his new patio storage box.. i said sure no problem. then he askes me if knew where to get rid of his old one i said sure, my house!!! hahaha

it's now on my porch... haha

you guys see a new season of street outlaws on discovery? locals only edition.. i missed that show a lot and glad to see it back on.

And here I thought I was a big spender by getting the $12 car wash instead of the $8 at the grocery store gas station 🙃

Going over my invoice it looks like they'll use an 8awg power kit.
For now they'll stick a new pair of component 6.5s in the doors and the tweeters will go in the dash up under the windshield.
Not sure where they'll put the amp. Most likely under the passenger seat. It's a 4 channel and I'm having them do that now so later I can install rear speakers in the cab so I have a full set of 4 plus the sub.

They did cut me a deal on a JVC head. I told them I wasn't too excited about going with another Pioneer but it had the 9" screen so that won out. They gave me a better in person deal on a JVC with a 10" screen for the same price and lots more features.
They're gonna put in something called maestro that has the truck talk to the stereo to relay diagnostics so I can check tire pressure and shit like that on the screen.
IDK much about the brands but I asked for quality all around and it was kinda hard to convey to the guy that look I'm not looking for the cheapest thing. I want the best you have within this budget.
So he would go over some bargain gear from Kicker and I had to keep asking, "have anything better".

The head is JVC...this model here but for only $550

If these are not the 6.5s they're very similar but mine were $40 less than amazon

And here's the amp. This is the fucker that drove the installation quote thru the roof but fuck it man I wanted to eat the cost now so it's ready for more speakers later this Summer

Not too shabby of a system. 8awg power wires though? I installed 0awg but have been slacking on doing the big 3 which I should've done from the get go. I also should have installed a cap as well or just another battery or an aftermarket alternator, maybe this spring when the snow is gone. I go through my door 6x6 speakers every 2 yrs, bad hf/lf settings on my deck I'm assuming. I wish I would've went w a bigger amp(sundown ?1500) though as I believe my sub(sundown x2 12") could handle more.... Still rattles the shit out of everything in, on the vehicle. Rms of that one 12" is 1500 and sundown is known for underrating their subs

like SkinnyP said i seems a bit thin to power six channels. i assume you're keeping your current amp and adding the new four channel?

but they guarantee the wiring so if it ain't right it's on them.. just seems weird because it's the same amount of work, the price of the extra copper gets passed on to the customer.

i like the low ohm stable, that make adding speaker configs in the future a breeze!! amps aren't cheap.. never have been never will.

i went the capacitor method on mine, it's an older vehicle and i don't have led lights and i didn't want any fade. it makes a nice buffer, my batteries seem to last a long time.

my jeep eats up door speakers like crazy!! i don't drive it much, it's my womans car.. i don't know what she does but i seem to replace them every few years.

Larson's running the triple this weekend!!!!!

truck practice starts now... qualifying in an hour and the race is on at 730!!! night racing at bristol BABY!!!!!

go 07!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol @ Jeep, yeah that's what I drive, 05 liberty, what a pile haha

man you must be pullin some serious power!! ;rockb

drove a liberty up to maine and back years ago, probably right around that same year too.. it was a company vehicle and that was the only long trip i ever made with it. wasn't a terrible jeep. i have a n antique.. its a 97 grand cherokee.. 318 dodge, it has more chrysler emblems on it than jeep ones so i call it a dodge.. it's actually a great reliable car.. quaddra track so it never slips in the snow, comfortable as can be, fully loaded, other than it being old on paper it's a really nice ride.

.

i think practice was rained out!!! there's some rerun on so it's not looking goof!! C'mon i want some bristol racing!!!

Hey !! Mannnnn....what you got for seedlings numbers on that 550?

I'm sitting b99 w83 r12......don't go long, stay in tight..SET HIKE..🏈..

IDK 40ish away, just to compare

nah man, heads just above soil go B20 W10 R7 and anywhere from 18-24" away, this will give you a little radiant heat on them while not blasting them with photons.

where did you get te 99-83-12 from?

I gotta go fix that...it's like 200ppfd maybe a little more in the middle??

I go trun it down

thats right in the ballpark but you're just wasting power is all. aim for that 200, 150,160 in the corners..

So I asked and was charged for the lowest rate which is 8 but I'm not getting 8 lol. I think it will be 6 or 4awg. They do biz kinda funky and now I'm not getting the 4 channel Asylum amp either. They put that on the invoice but I'm getting a bigger and better 5 channel Kenwood.
It's just weird how they're doing it because they charging me for gear at one price but upgrading it at every turn. Even the maestro harness being part of that.

I'm gonna have it so there's actually 2 amps. The 5 channel will be for the door speakers and eventually a pair of 6x9s in the back cab. I could add a subwoofer with that 5th channel but I think it would only be 4 or 600 watts, can't remember, while the box with the amp in it is 1200watts on a 12". I may upgrade the sub later and maybe even run it off the 5 channel amp but I really like that box as is. It's a freaking beast plus it's slim for the cab leaving room for my dogs.

Yep, ajusted...thanks . I didn't want them to have to pull themselves to center, I'll watch em

I rotate and shuffle them around at that size if they lean toward the light and even if they don't. It also helps stimulate the stalk and leaves, building hardiness

sounds like you'll find out once it's all in!! haha kenwood makes some awesome amps, some shitty ones too.. a lot of the top companies make affordable lines that are sold on crutchfield and such. the MFG's play games with model numbers all the time.. some models are only sold by certain customers but are very similar to others.. they're tricky AF with that stuff and it's how they hustle their money.

thats funny man i typed out almost the exact same sentence to him and deleted it before i posted it.

but yeah DJ, move em around, spin em, keep the guessing where the hot spots are..

Its a little bit bigger than the light

Its a little bit bigger than the light

you're solid at 18" away, it will easy to cover that space.. on the long ways of the light i get good core with about 41" . i think the diodes are 90° could be 60, don't listen to me..

once you're comfortable with it and are just growing for stash weed then you can fuck around.. for now we're gonna get you on a solid A to B run with a good quality smoke in the end. once you have that then we can turn up the gas and see whats up!! i've started seeds as high as 50% already, but you gotta have all your other ducks in a row first.. kinda like an engine, you can't just slap a huge carburetor on it and expect it to go fast. you gotta open the intake, open the cylinders, open the exhaust.. then your big ass carburetor can be useful.

same with growing, a big bright light won't get you big plants but combine that with the correct temp/rh/rootzone and you can go all HAM with a light.

make sense?

once you're comfortable with it and are just growing for stash weed then you can fuck around.. for now we're gonna get you on a solid A to B run with a good quality smoke in the end. once you have that then we can turn up the gas and see whats up!! i've started seeds as high as 50% already, but you gotta have all your other ducks in a row first.. kinda like an engine, you can't just slap a huge carburetor on it and expect it to go fast. you gotta open the intake, open the cylinders, open the exhaust.. then your big ass carburetor can be useful.

same with growing, a big bright light won't get you big plants but combine that with the correct temp/rh/rootzone and you can go all HAM with a light.

make sense?
Agreed on all points, when I find the bottom " do not go below this line" i believe it will help..

you got it man,,, looks textbook right there.

do you happen to have a heatmat to set them on? they love it hot at that age.. like 90 right on the bottom of the cup is not too much .. my seedlings always grow better with a warm rootzone, once they hit the veg stage i lower the heat.. i keep the rootzones warm throughout the whole veg time if i can. thats what my peg leg table was for.. heater was inches under it making it a warm bed for the containers..

green track.. cold air!!! trucks are gonna EAT tonight!!!! hell yeah!!!!

I don't think my heat mat is big enough..but this little ACI heater has a pretty cool hose that can be placed were you want it..net i go in there I'll figure something out

he's fast.. thats how.. he's still on qualifying scuffs and says he's pretty good in one and two.. a little loose in three and four.. stickers will make a difference but not till the end of second stage..

what two trucks pitted.. looks like everybody wants to one stop it!
