CannaGranny’s Corner a Thread For General BS and Good Will On BudBuilders

Heard about this last week. Glad we don’t have one near us. Haven’t tried them in years.

Most take out places have gotten worse. We give stores two or three chances then you’re off the list. This just killed a franchise for us.

Yup, we swore off that shit awhile ago. I LOVE my Big Macs, but fuck off Micky Ds, and all factory food. Processed food is poisoning us. I love it, but hate it. So, now we're trying to buy as much fresh food as possible and paying a little more. Also, growing our own. Gotta start homesteading this shit. Damn, life is getting harder as I age, lol.

Yep, 100% agree.

I still get halibut fish and chips about once a month over the spring to fall. But we know the owner and get it fresh and clean grease. Got to draw the line somewhere. 🤣

Thank God it finally rained here.
We had 2 whole days in a row of no rain, and I am not sure we could tolerate much more of a drought~!

;wedg
You need our weather folks. Keep saying it’s going to rain all month. Still waiting. 25* in the shade and sunny. Was supposed to be thunderstorms starting today through to Saturday. 😤

No thunderstorm or rain yesterday.

28*+ today and supposed to be thunderstorms again. Bring it!

Watered some of the flowers already and I’ll be doing the vegetables as well. If it rains later so be it. Tired of waiting for rain that never comes.

Enjoyed a smoke on the garden bench the other day. IMG_4625.jpeg

Besides 5 days in March we have only had 3 days in a row without rain 3 times this year.
When will it end?
Supposed to get to 95f by Tuesday.

Pretty rose. Reminds me of one at my place that belonged to my mom. I need to study up on the right way to take care of it. I'd be crushed, if it died due to poor care.
Roses are pretty easy for the most part. Depends what you want it to look like. Bushy or climbing. Cut off spent buds and leaves to force new growth. Bugs and drought are my issues. I cut most of ours back each year. Then let them go for a year or two to see what shape they take.

Do you like that bubbler? I like the looks of it.
Yes. Not something I’d get for myself. My son saw a picture and link. Got it for last year’s birthday gift.

I'll trade with you for a while.

It’s a bit more than I need so let’s split each month. Two weeks out of each month. 🤔

So far no thunderstorm just 4 five minute little showers. Less than 2mm. But 15 minutes away they got a downpour. 🤦

i put the A/C's in today... this weather is just straight up bullshit this year man!!! we might hit triple digits next week. the anticipation of it is even worse than the heat itself i think!!

today the sun came out, but it was still raining anyway!!!

We’ll be getting the AC ready here as well. Went from too cold to too hot in just a couple of days.

All yesterday we got a few light sprinkles and another over night. Today doesn’t seem any better. IMG_4703.jpegIMG_4704.jpeg

The 5mm should at least equal a watering, if we actually get the rain.

I am really going to put clones outside this weekend coming up. It hasn't really been nice this year here although it is close to 90f today~!
Longest day of the year [6/21] will be day 1 outside and it is all downhill from there.
I have sneaking suspicion the creating seeds in controlled indoor set ups yield us seed that like 18/6 and 12/12 and have no clue what to do with 15/9 as the longest day and an extremely slow flip to 12 at the end of September. Part of people's issue growing outdoors maybe?
They'll all [however many] go in pots around 10-15 gallons.

i got a Captain plant outside and she's been digging the non stop rain...

You might not prefer shortly trimmed grass, but you sure take care of your outdoor plants. Hydrangea, peaches and whatever you have growing in the pond all look great.

Do you have herons get after your koi? I put some regular goldfish in my pond and a heron really enjoyed them.

My outdoor plants are looking decent considering all of the rain and me butchering their prunings. I need to do some bug defense, though. Leaves are getting munched on, some. I have compost tea brewing for tonight. If I get home in time, I'll try to mix and spray some Dead Bug. I think it's a little early for the straight up Monterey BT. I don't see any caterpillars, at least.

no, i don't but my buddy deals with them a lot, those and eagles he has an issue with. i dug my pond over three foot deep just because of this reason.

I don’t enjoy mowing, but can’t get used to tall grass. Been constantly playing catch up, this season. I haven’t even done a good trim job, yet.

Ours is 4’-4.5’ deep in the middle. It’s a small natural pond that had been partially filled in. Pumped the water out and hired a backhoe to dig it out years ago. The fish hung around in the cattails and lily pads around the edges. Herons are interesting to watch hint. The move so slow. They extend their head in front of them so slowly I almost second guess whether they’re moving at all. Then they step forward just as slowly to catch up with their head, lol. Fast as lightning when they strike. I had a buddy who was a serious hunter. He said he learned to still hunt watching them.

I was wrong. The little white moth bastards are here. I applied the compost tea in the rain and started another batch for other stuff growing around here. Then sprayed with some pre-mixed stuff I had on hand. I’ll have to mix some Dead Bug or BT in the sprayer over the weekend and and give everything a good soak.

they're very majestic creatures for sure... glad i don't have any. so far i've had fish taken from coons, cats, and owls... my fish won't stop laying eggs so it don't matter if i lose a few here and there. i bet there's over 800 koi in there!!!

I did that one year and ended up bringing bugs into my grow room.
Never again.
Outdoors is a death sentence for my girls.
They will never come back in alive.

They sit in that black tray beside the door until early morning. IMG_4714.jpeg

Tents are in the basement shutdown until fall. Just waiting to be cleaned.

Once they get a bit bigger and I’m not worried about a rabbit eating them I’ll have better locations.

I check everything on the stoop daily and found bugs on two the other day. Squished a few and sprayed some Safer’s. Nothing last night or this morning.

My friends I have 10 plants running right now. All seeds dropped April 28th and all were up by May 2 - 4. I dropped 5 outdoors and 5 indoors. No fucking comparing between the two. The outside are shit. Small but coming around now. The indoor are monsters in comparison to size and vegetation. Fuck outdoors

Fucken fuck, digging up a water line in this shit 🥵View attachment 106421
Yeah, screw that. It's only good to work on things you really want in sweltering heat. Those conditions make stuff you don't want to do, to begin with, almost unbearable. You win stud points for taking care of the family when you do the work yourself, though. Good luck repairing the valve and hope you win best-in-show stallion.

If you are providing labor, is the landlord providing parts or anything?
