Maybe ill eat some mushrooms again later on in life after the kids grow up and move out. But as of right now none of that stuff interests me anymore, its time consuming and I just don't have the time for it anymore lol.

Not a mittens guy either lol. I need the gloves for sitting in the woods deer hunting lol. When I'm out shoveling snow I'm usually so damn hot I can't even wear gloves or my hands get sweaty, ew.

yea sweating in the cold is not good at all. the core of my hands stay warm for the most part it's my damn fingers that i struggle with. i wore mittens for hunting, couldn't shoot with gloves on anyway so i just wore mittens and slid them off to shoot.

it doesn't help any that the gun is steel though, like holding an ice cube!!! don't miss hunting one bit man... the only animals i'll shoot anymore will be with my camera.

If it wasn't 22 dollars for however many pounds of meat you get I probably wouldn't do it either lol.
But it's the time with family and friends after the harvest that I enjoy the most. I also really enjoy the fresh meat obviously lol. Venison is one of my favorite red meats, and i refuse to buy it from a store or "farm"

Actually, we are having venison steaks tonight lol

my number one reason for giving it up was because my huntin buddy died. its just not enjoyable to me anymore. pretty much has nothing to do with meat. or cost, or anything other than i miss my pops! :(

Yeah i could see where that would put an end to it for me too.
Its always been something I've done with my dad, when he moves and sells the property in 3 years I'll prolly end up giving it up too until I get a place with some property of my own.
I plan to take my oldest with me next year, found a spot to set up a ground blind and everything for us.

i'll never forget some of those first hunts a a kid... i enjoy shooting a ton, but for hunting i was all about the bow!!! in fact i've only ever dropped one doe with a rifle. everything was always in archery season for me.

make it extra fun for him man!!! stay positive and let him fall in love with it. do you plan to sit and hunt with him? or are you gonna push/drive for him?

i've never been able to sit and wait in a blind like that, i would only stand in one spot for maybe 5-10 minutes at most... i called those hunters sit n waiters!! hahaha ......no offence to those that do just makin funnies!!

Definitely & while we may think it's trashy, it's entirely possible that a civilization advanced enough to travel here through space may have destroyed theirs to a much greater extent. And quite frankly if they have the tech to get here it's not likely they'll be negotiating for resources. More likely just taking what they want & killing/enslaving humans in the process.

We will sit together and wait lol. I have an old h&r 20 gauge single shot my grandfather bought out of a sears & roebuck magazine when my dad was a kid, that I got to hunt with when I was 10 so he'll get the same gun choice lol 😆

very cool G$!!!!! the first deer i got was with my dads bow and i still have it today! i've sold a few guns off over the years but still have some sentimental ones.. got a .308 that my great grandfather bought, never knew the man but i shoot his gun!!!

i only have one rifle that i actually purchased, a 7mm mag and i still have my first 410 shotgun but that was a gift when i was young. everything else is used by family members and passed on to me.
