I'm guessing that is a shot from the interwebs of adult HR Mites. Hopefully not #5's plants. I think this place would be on fire if he saw that. For sure looks like some sort of maggot in that picture. I suspect they aren't plant material only judging by how they are inconsistently on/attached to the leaves.

Glad you are mite free. Did the sulfur have any impact on the plant you put it on?
My hypothesis is algae in your rainwater tank. Or organic material in general. I'll explain more when I have a minute.

i think it was just one of the stages they go through.. i took that snip from this video...
no, i don't think i gave them enough time though, it was only on there less than a week. i put some on a couple soil plants but it hasn't stopped it from looking bad.
i'm gonna keep looking for sure... honestly i'll probably never stop looking now..at least for a few months i'll still be on high guard. i've never had russet mites before and i am told they are the toughest to battle.
oh by all means pothesis on with this theory!! i know for a fact 100% i had algae in that water, not even a doubt. i almost posted a pic for you but never did. we were already moving forward with treating it and thought i'd be beating a dead horse with problems..
this is a before and after shot of that barrel of water, you can see the green...

correct, not my photo.. i tried to get shots through my little scope with the camera but it looked fish eyed goofy! haha
i told you if i see crawly shit i'm sellin!!!! the neighbors place down the road just went for $650K and they only have half the land i have!!! hahaha
and if i see crawly shit in the water i'm calling sigourney weaver!!!!
If you look close enough near the bottom right…

if i saw something like that with eye balls staring back at me i think i'd be out of here like a bandit in a trans am!!
.. i guess i'm growing pizza toppings now..

That weed identifies as basil and cilantro man. I'd give them more calmag and check for light leaks![]()
I’ve been splitting and moving the herbs outside. Chives are doing great but they came with the house. I’m hoping once the mint is healthy I can put it beside the front steps. Reminds me of a simpler time. Rhubarb would be nice too if I find it.gu told me they were skunk #1!!
.
so it's been a minute since i've been able to post some good news in this thread so lets get the ball rolling...
the plant i put outdoors, the California Orange Sherbet, i think she's gonna be okay!! i'm even seeing the lower branches having new growth!!

peroxide level is down to 10 ppms... going to need a top off soon. i'll use the clean water in the barrel, the h2o2 level is a little higher in that yet but i don't mind, i'm not in a rush to go back to living water.

It’s funny how so many plants that used to be common in peoples back yards are no longer around. My mom was never into growing them, just flowers, but she looked after what already existed.
Only took a generation to stop growing their own and just start buying from the grocery stores.

I'd argue that this isn't a little thing...Even the little things like people being a fucking litterbug can get to me on this
This is straight up MIND BOGGLINGSo every Tuesday rain or shine, dumb fuck has a 5 man landscaping crew with riding mowers and gas leaf blowers polluting the air to maintain a plastic grass front yard.
My wife looks after most of the indoor plants, until she kills them.i'm the same way i like to have a little of each inside and outside, sometimes i lose an indoor and need to tap off the outdoor!!! yikes! haha
Jelly, mine didn’t make it over the winter. Neither did the strawberries this time. My fault for leaving them in the wife’s care.i took took the basil and parsley out of the hydro yesterday.. roots looked killer for just ten days in the system...
There’s your problem, your set for vegetables!i'd be tickled if i could grow some ganja roots like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I use our front stoop to harden off or get things going before planing in the gardens or crates. The mints there now but will be planted in ground ounce I know the aphids are gone.i put the hebs outside on my porch in a junior earthbox.. close enough to indie for me.. they're not happy at all about being in soil!!! hahahaha
Every part but the puff ball. Willow eats the flowers I give her. Makes her coat look great. I’m not a fan of them myself but knew people that made wine and used them for salads. I don’t use poison for weeds but they are no longer sold up here anyway. I do think poison for some pests should still be sold though.like how people spray poison down to remove dandelion.. it's food!!!!!!!!
My wife won’t eat any meat not bought in a store. She’ll eat the veggies and fruits I grow though. I’m pretty sure she’s eaten the fish her father or I brought home but never any meat.sad right? i read that most americans get their food from an average over 1500 miles away...
remember the days when a farmer dictated the size of the community? people now days don't even know what that means!
we're getting close... beans are popping.. place is clean... water is topped off, ph is a little low since adding it but i ain't even gonna mess with it for now. nothing stopping me now.. just a day or two till i count day 1...
Nobody seems to take the time to become a steward of the land they sit on. Little to no thought about native plants, trees, and grasses.
HOA's dictating how land should look when they're often the worst idea for the planet then modern man believing the landscape should be half paved over and the other half a water guzzling non-native lawn.
Nobody giving a second thought to planting for wildlife or living in symbiosis with nature.
Just a world of consumption man. I could rant all day and show examples but then I'd just be in a bad mood all day.
Even the little things like people being a fucking litterbug can get to me on this.
Sorry for the rant it's just that leaving my little slice of planet better than how I found it is important to me and it's upsetting seeing what's been pissed away by people not even trying to take care of this planet as if there's a spare one in the garage we can pull out when this one goes kapooey.
One example I have...dipshit young tech couple new to my street and first time homeowners. They can tell you how to write code but cannot operate a lawnmower. What does dumb fuck do? Has a shitty developer lawn that's dead from neglect torn out and artificial turf put down. Dude then gets roped into hiring a subscription based lawn care company. Yeah he thinks you need still need to mow artificial turf.
So every Tuesday rain or shine, dumb fuck has a 5 man landscaping crew with riding mowers and gas leaf blowers polluting the air to maintain a plastic grass front yard. But hey, they drive a pair of Teslas so they're quick to tell you how they're saving the Earth for their kids' future by driving EVs.
Grrrr.
I'd argue that this isn't a little thing...
I admit, I used to be a litterbug. No regard. Growing up in rural Kansas, you just never saw the trash accumulate so I was none the wiser.
I vividly remember my change of heart. I went out to southern California for a solar job, chasing the money. Just me and my dog.
It was Memorial day and I turned onto Veterans Memorial Highway, somewhere between Taft and Bakersfield. The amount of litter alongside Veterans Memorial Highway ON FUCKIN MEMORIAL DAY left me literally sick to my stomach. It was a poetic epiphany.
Now I look back on myself with a bit of disgust in my blatant disregard for Kansas' natural beauty and how easily it is to destroy. Thankfully I've changed tune. I'm now the guy that will get out to return the trash that some dipshit threw out his window at a red light.
My wife looks after most of the indoor plants, until she kills them.
She never feeds, usually over waters, or forgets about them. I’ll try to save one now and then but it’s just prolonging the inevitable.

I'd be torn between saying something and just letting the dufus keep wasting his money. Like... in the nicest way possible... are they retarded?
You’ve got to be kidding. Mowing artificial turf!?! How can they not know plastic doesn’t grow?
I’ve seen it used on porches and balconies but not on dirt. Maybe at a driving range…
IDK if I’d say something or not. On one had it’s funny as hell. On the other hand it’s sad as fuck.
That also means his lawn care crew are crooks. Laughing all the way to the bank.
Over the last 40 years I’ve watched people go from mostly good and respectable people to entitled selfish asshats. We have a bus stop with a recycling station/garbage out front. Some leave their garbage on top of it or on our fence, or IN the shelter on the bench or ground.
Some I shame into cleaning it up but others don’t care and get on the bud leaving it. At least a quarter of these people are the transit workers. But if they don’t pick it up when I mention it I take their pic and say I’ll just report them. I get dirty looks but they pic their garbage up. Still happens but not as often by workers.
Just sad we live in a toilet now. My kids don’t pollute. They might forget to empty their pockets into the garbage when home but they don’t toss it or leave it lying around. Just wish my wife wouldn’t toss cigarette buts sometimes. I’ve put water bottles outside for her but once in a while she’ll still flick it over the fence.![]()
Where to start…
G$ sent me a few GDP Autos he made. IDK why but he isn’t into growing them. But he thought they might be something I’d like. Observer, G$ and I talked about this since the farm. Looking forward to the experience. Just hope I get two or more female.![]()
Our wives seem to have the same black thumb. One month they look fine and the next we have deficiencies or root issues. She really never feeds them. I gave her a bottle of 4:4:4 and told her to give a pinch once a month. Don’t think she ever touched it. I think the Benjamina is eating the terracotta pot it’s in to survive.

Only down side is the bottom collects dog hair and I’ve fallen backwards on it…twice.![]()
I used to make beer, wine and sparkling wines. Still have a lot of the stuff from 30-40 years ago. Dandelion wine was just not what I was into. I picked them as a teenager for a friend’s father a few times but that’s about it. I used them to make KNF FPJ two years ago but hardly used any.
I’m waiting to hear what you finally find that has caused all the issues with these grows. I don’t think it’s bugs. But that’s just a gut feeling. Took a couple of years but G$ figured out that he needed more light to grow his clones. Ambient light wasn’t enough. I think you’re going to find it’s something simple that got changed and is just enough to cause your issue. You’ve got good people to bounce ideas off of. You’ll get it. Folllowed with a good laugh and kicking yourself in the ass a bit.![]()
I'm watching them mow artificial turf this morning
All the worker does is ride that mower around fast AF laughing about it.
I think every neighbor has talked to them and we're at that point where they know they've been scammed.
When they moved in, they didn't know how to take care of the yard. The leaves from a tree were an issue and that's when they hired a landscape company to take care of the leaves and grass.
Later they had the tree on their property cut down to eliminate the leaves. That was the first big WTF are you doing event.
Up until then the landscapers weren't really noticed because all the tech workers hire them so it's pretty normal in that circle of people to not mow your own grass. For some, they move every two years so it makes sense to hire out for that work and not buy mowers etc. I get that.
But these folks are 4 years in now and seem to want to stay so they're making the property their own.
Part of that, instead of learn how to manage that bit of land, they put the plastic grass down yet were not able to cancel the landscape work subscription so until that contract expires, they get the landscape work done on artificial turf. Landscape company will still come because they won't break the contract.
Even right now I'm seeing another neighbor go over there and ask the landscaping crew to shut it down. They'll stop because this is the routine but they have to show up and unload the equipment and start working before they can be asked to stop. That's where other neighbors have such an issue because the guy or wife won't come out to tell the workers to stop. A neighbor always has to do it
I’m looking forward this grow.very cool!!!!!! i love when it has a little sentimental value to it!!!!
It’s still in a plastic pot. The plants at least 15 years old. My sister almost killed it so left it when she moved out. It’s never happy but it just won’t die. I’ll see if I can get her to up-pot again. It’s warped the green pot from large roots.that on made me laugh pretty good man!! you should try and break a bite looking piece off and tell her that it ate it!!!!! hahahaha
i'm a fucker as a prankster sometims and it would be something i would do... years ago i had my woman looking for turn signal fluid!! hahaha
Once we had kids it made it difficult to do these kind of things in the house. Kids aren’t sterile. They either want to help or snoop around when your back is turned. Always wanted to grow a plant in the big glass carboy bottle.i made wine for the first time with some of Grannies help. it turned out great but i don't know anyone that really likes wine. i give eggs to a lady down the road and she said it was good but too strong.. haha thats what happens when a moonshiner makes wine!!!! hahaha got legs like a supermodel!!! i have like a case and a half here.. i might add it to the peach brandy run this summer. thats the best part about a still, if booze is in there you can get out out!!
me too!!!!!!!!!!!!! i might not really know till i get the water tested. as of right now i believe it a bacteria or virus in my water and/or the air, maybe both. i've shotgunned this by cleaning the water and zapping the surface and air.
SO... if my problem goes away then i know it's one of those two. if it doesn't go away and i still have issues in three weeks then.... uhhh uhh uummm uhhh.... haha (again do or do not, there is no try!)
either way we'll all know in about three to four weeks.
AND... this will also be a hydro versus soil grow off!! i got skin in both games!!!![]()
Let's fucking GOOO
I’m looking forward this grow.![]()

Are you trying to run sterile this time? Or run sterile, then "inject" or inoculate with mycorizhae?end of week one, still growing.. they're little baby groots with little baby roots!!!

I'm trying to confirm the h2o2 ppm range/levels.
I think younger plants (seedlings) like it little more acidic at first, but I have nothing to confirm this with.
Either way, 5.8 will work great the whole time.
