Looks good to me!
I like how you're working with the branches that come off 3 and 5 point bottom leaves and not the lower baby bit single blade stems.
Are you gonna take the bottom fan leaves and first set of leaves off too or wait until there's a developed shoot coming off those inside nodes?

This is very similar to making alternating cuts mainlining except I'd get it to four branches and not tie them down unless it was for LST purposes.

Well bad day for our guys and man did we have some fast rides but wow! What a race!!! Nice pick on Suarez too man! That'll move you up in the pool! My consolation prize was another top 10 finish in the pool which I think will keep me in a tie for 1st this week.
Got Willie B for Vegas and after seeing him on Full Speed I'm pretty sure he's an alien cyborg from the future sent here to just kick ass in racing.

I still can't believe that 3 wide photo finish! Yeah go ahead and file that one in the Greatest Races catalog holy crap was it good!
My wife is still on a high with the 99 win. She's an Amigo and rocking her #99 Trackhouse gear today.
And she doubled down on Busch being her second fave driver, Briscoe and Larson tied for 3rd fave. I told her if she wants a Busch diecast it will have to be wrecked and set on fire hahaha! I think maybe I'll get her a couple 1/64 cars, an 8 and 99 for her work desktop.
But yeah last year with KB going into those tires at Chicago then driving around TMS in reverse sealed the deal for her. She loves crazy bro what am I gonna do? Shit, she married me so I can't complain about that!

Man going back to Netflix Full Speed, I watched it again last week and Bootie Barker is a national treasure!! Man it sucks he's on that 23 team because it's so hard to wanna see him win but Bubba lose. I want BB over at SHR!!! Stewart needs to money whip him and get him on the 14 team. Or maybe just give him another bottle of rare bourbon will do it hahaha!

i thought it was a great race for sure!! i did more standing than sitting while watching. that one point i think it was the start of the last stage when they all came off the corner four wide for second!! guys i was actually jumping up and down cheering!!!

most lead changes there in history!! most cars wrecked too though,,, what was it, only like five cars at the end that weren't in an accident? other than all the wrecks i loved it... wait let me rephrase that, cuz i do love wrecks mostly.. and love restarts even more but i just hate to see almost any team get a DNF. Larson has his first of the year already!!! just sucks for the 5 team, since they repaved that track they've had a DNF every time now. past results never show how decent of a car they bring there. they only loosened him a tad early on with a slight air pressure and that thing was dialed in all day!!

buy wow guys could imagine if all the races were like that???

still not sure i saw a chevy disadvantage from the new changes... looked fairly even across all the MFG's if you ask me. i mean that was the goal it's just all the "experts" were saying the fords and ota's were going to be better than the chevys... lets face it though, they're not really fords of chevys or toyotas,, larson drives a hendrics car, about the only thing chevy on it is the bowtie!!!

i'm coming for the race pool lead this week though!!! Bandit's tie for 1st, third and fourth are tie, and i'll be in fifth!!! i got C-Bell this week!!!! after watching the netflix show how can ya not like christopher bell!!!

made em orange so they're easy to see...

some got their new tops (maybe should call em side tops??) cut off tonight. left all the leaves i could for now. they're all still drinking and had some new growth already so that's a good sign. i watered them kinda heavy yesterday so i will let them go for today and give them a good one tomorrow with a little veg nutes even...

oh that's some straight up BS right there!!! i saw they charged me for the yearly prime.. over $150 this year. and i saw prime just added advertisements,, wtf???

they lost my hooks and i'm kinda glad i was silly for not printing them in the first place. of coarse it didn't come easy though. i changed my filament to print them and my printer wouldn't work right, the nozzle seemed clogged, i changed it all out and still had issues. here it was a small piece of scrap filament jammed in the extruder gears!! learned something there!!

i thought they would stall much more than they have. i noticed their knuckles have been bulging out, it's like they know whats coming!!

some of them are growing tight enough horizontal nodes that i will need to clip and skip one and some plants are spaced out so much i just went with the first two horizontal nods and cut the side tops off.

did you see jonnyboi's update? he's got all colas growing.. not colas and branch buds but everything is colas!! i would be utterly amazed if mine grew like that!!

ending week seven since pistils... everything is growing fine, no problems. i am definitely seeing the repercussions at this point from all the hell i put these plants through during veg. just small buds, small plants.. lots of leaf to bud ratio. i'll be happy just to get this grow done and out of sight. not a total waste of time because i learned a bunch. but now i know next time to just bail and start over. yeah it's expensive on seeds but it's even more expensive keeping a heater running in the coldest part of year for like twenty weeks of veg or whatever it was.

but the great part is i still get buds...

mainliners are looking good and seem to be growing full speed again. i'm moving the staples almost twice a day to keep them at the furthest points to try to keep them straight . gave them some food too, a half shot of each...












the cuttings all look good so far, i think i might try and squeeze these into a round of flowering if the timing looks like it might work out. we'll see how the mainliners look at the time of harvest. could be as soon as three weeks from now so i'm gonna continue on as if i plan to flower the clones and probably keep them in the cloner until i'm ready to flip. it will be a hard flip if i do it. not sure there will be time to gently ease in flowering but if there is, i will!!!



having some crazy storms here tonight... hope i keep power. had a couple brown outs so far, one was when i was downstairs taking photos!! i didn't have a flashlight with me either!! at least it's warm though... 40 mph winds but it's 45*

new survivor starts tonight... hope the dvr didn't/doesn't reset!!!

have a great end of week everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this week is flying by for me and will be friday before i know it!!!

I'm taking notes on the mainline because I may run some mother plants using that and bonsai the fuck out of them so I can keep them in a small space nice and tidy.
Also been thinking about that wind down on time for y no veg grows from seed. I think for this round it may have worked but they all don't start at the same pace so maybe 12 would wind down then the other 8 woulda joined in at some point a week or two later.
I just don't know if a hard flip is better of if they even care.

Uggh your cold is making me dread this Summer. I just don't know if I can grow July-Sept. with the utility rates now. Even in Winter my bill is $75 more than the bill same time last year and I'm using less. Rate hikes are a muddafucker!!! If I do a grow it will be downsized for sure and no spectramax.

IDK yet but mine might come out to play here soon as I turn over rocks looking for efficiency. The last fixture I have left has adjustable watts so I need my old killawatt meter to see what I can do with it compared to a 550 for some light duty work.

and yes sir i still have both my sunsystem lights. i loaned one to a friend to start out but he said the light kept turning itself off at random?? he gave it back to me but i never checked it out. i have a feeling it was user error. i also offered one up to another friend that had one already and was having problems but due to other issues she hasn't grown in a long time now. for now they're downstairs next to the flower cab collecting dust!!

speaking of the nozzle... i was thinking you should get your wife a car or two for her desk, and put a sticker on the bottom of the 8 car that says "this end up" hahaha!!!!

yeah definitely a press before a puffco!!!!! a puffco doesn't play nice with any dry material that doesn't melt.

i enjoy all forms of racing really.. hell i'll even line up next to ya with a wheel barrel if ya wanna go.. hahaha i've even raced my lawnmower!! haha but deep down i really enjoy the short tracks! we go to the small local tracks often n the summer. there's one near me that still only charges $7 to get in!!! i have a friend that still races there, i help in the pits some weekends. we have a pretty big dirt track round here too called grandview. kyle larson races there a couple time a year!!!! gotta wear goggles there!!!

and drag racing has always been a big part of life. my mom has pictures of me at my first drag race.. i was pretty tiny with a big ol set of ear muffs and a smile on my face!!

I've seen F1 or Indy style EVs but the Odyssey 21 EV racing is kinda baddass



Chip Ganassi Racing opted out this year but Legacy MC got into it for the Americans and they got Travis Pastrana to drive one.
The show kinda sucks because there's so much talking and interviewing with very little race action but when they do show the racing these thing look fun AF to drive.
Spark is the builder of the O21s but McLaren and Hummer are also very involved. I doubt we'll see teslas and prius doing this sorta racing

i've always had a weak spot for suzukis.. i've owned more than i could probably remember. at least a dozen dirt bikes, a handful of fourwheelers by them.. even had a quadzilla not that long ago.. i was young when i bought that thing.. those 500's are what caused the racer quad ban back in the early 90's. mine was an 88.. she was a bad bitch!!!!

i sold her and then that dude sold it to a mutual friend and he stripped it down got everything restored to factory and then pulled some asshole move on his woman and she kicked his ass out and that quad is now been sold off in parts and her soul has been stripped... she and i outraced every other quad we ever went against.. she retired an undefeated winner!!! but well past her prime...

my race pool pic shit the bed though... whah whah whah.... high's and low's!!! not sure i wanna even look at the sheet this week!! haha i got your boy Briscoe this weekend!!!!!! got him riding a wave and winning martinsville in a few weeks too!!!

did ya hear cliff daniels giving Briscoe a shout out!!! well all of SHR but the media mentioned a couple SHR guys and cliff was like yeah and the 14!!! i think maybe cliff daniels and ricky boswell might have a bromance brewing.. ever since the 5 and 14 were working together in the atlanta race it's like cliff has a new buddy!!!!

but super happy that ticket is punched early and the 5 team is playoff bound!!! and... there's a new leader in the point standings!!

i like it!!!! the new limited swing mode is very cool. if you just want a tiny bit you can set it on one... has ten settings this is #1.

so if you're like me and never read the book and consider instructions to be "mfg suggestions" i found a few stoner tips with it. on the old model i would sometimes turn the oscillation off to shoot a pic then turn it back on. with the new settings you would have to push the button ten times to shut it off and turn it back on... nahhh.. just hold the oscillation button in for a few seconds and it turns it off. then a single click to turn it back on to the setting it was previously set to!!!!

and one more tip i found is the natural wind mode. it's not all speeds or nothing on that like i thought it was... if you set the max speed you want then hold the speed button in for a few seconds it turns on the natural mode but only goes up to the max speed you have set and not all the ten speeds!!! pretty intuitive!!!

one other detail i noticed, it's a bigger diameter than the vivosun...

i put it in the veg cabinet. putting a nice breeze on the mainliners... took the light up another 10% and gave them some actual veg nutes!!! actually says "veg" on the bag!!!! breakin my cherry!!!!!!!!!! well i've tried in the past but overdid it and burned them all. not this time!!!!!

I think EV racing will just be another class of racing. I know exactly who it will attract. Tech Bros. Dudes who watch soccer instead of football and say soccer is better while they drink watermelon flavored White Claw and say it's better than an 8% IPA. And they drive Cybertrucks


I can get into Extreme Odyssey on TV and it might have potential to grab fans like you say based off the action. The jumps and rooster tails around turns are cool to see. The wrecks are tremendous too with roll overs and flying off the tracks.
But it's not racing for fans to be there. It's somewhere between the Baja 1000 and one of those Landrover Expeditions where they drive a LR across the arctic or thru the Amazon. The places they race are end of Earth locations and super remote at climate change "hot spots" around the globe, bringing awareness to climate change by racing hot rod EV SUVs. It's pretty cool really but as far as open wheel EV on a track like COTA, no thanks and see the first paragraph who that's for.

I kinda see Odyssey racing like I do the Tour De France. I watch it every year but not for the bikes. It's the location and grueling pain the riders endure that keeps me tuned into that. The scenery is awesome and the fans there are nuts as it gets. And of course hoping an American can win and wipe the stain of Lance Armstrong away.
Then there was the covid lockdown and no sports being played there for a while. I was so starved for action I got into watching neighborhood kids, 4 year old racing tricycles, as a part of a sort of social distanced play date the moms were doing in the evenings. A few of us even started wagering on those kids. The little boy with the dinosaur sticker on his helmet won me $5! But you'd think we were at 'Dega or something watching those kids pedal as hard as they could trying to win those races.
So I think I can watch almost any kind of racing and find something to like but nothing beats NASCAR at the track
