May I interrupt with a printer question? How important would this dryer be? On a scale of 1-10, five being nice to have and ten being shouldn’t be without, how would you rate it? I understand different climates will have different needs.
Sounds like it is or can be a preheat for the material as well. Do these use electricity on a regular basis and would it be negligible?
The list of additional equipment is growing.
it's like growers creep ain't it?!?! hahaha
my personal opinion i would rate that as a one in needing.. maybe if you lived on a coastline or something it would go up to 4 as important. thats my opinion but i also don't spend $60 per roll of filament either, somebody that invests in super high quality can afford a dryer so why not.
i might be wrong but from i read the TPU is the most sensitive to rh. for the little amount of tpu i use compared to the price it's just not worth it for me to have a dryer.
Cool. Thanks for the opinion.I've never felt the need to get one of those and seems like my filament, or some brands of PETG, could actually use the opposite and be moisturized because they dry out and get brittle if left out and not used for a spell.
He was going to get one then changed his mind. I thought the small 2-1 2’x3’ would be perfect and hold all the extras on the side or shelf. (Stop leaving shit all over the house. )One accessory I have been thinking about is getting a tent for my printer. I've seen the small cloning tents being used by some. I'd like that just to keep dust off it and maintain consistent temps during a print. But even then I'd say I want it more than need it.
Yes, yes it is. Or shooting, or motorcycles, or fishing, or computers… It’s a reasonable tool for his hobbies. I can’t complain about the items we’ve made for the tent. They aren’t all perfect but they are in a tent. IDC as long as they work. Looks are secondary to function for me, most of the time. The higher the price the smaller that gap becomes.it's like growers creep ain't it?!?! hahaha
This was my thinking. The groups he reads and listens too all buy this and that. He’s just got the new toy bug. I relayed the replies from you guys and he’s listening to reason.my personal opinion i would rate that as a one in needing.. maybe if you lived on a coastline or something it would go up to 4 as important. thats my opinion but i also don't spend $60 per roll of filament either, somebody that invests in super high quality can afford a dryer so why not.

Anything you would say is a must or something that should be bought sooner than later?

I originally said he’s buying a solution to a problem he hasn’t experienced yet. Now he’s willing to wait and see.
Cool. Thanks guys.

It's funny because when I was shopping for my cloning tent, I'd see reviews like these

Like Stoney said, spare nozzles are a must.
I also have a few different types of beds since some work better than others for certain filaments. Mine came with a tempered glass bed but I use a reversible PEI bed that's pebbled on one side and smooth on the other more than the glass bed. It peels off the bed too so if a print sticks too well I can bend the bed to pop it off
i was looking at the printer specific ones with built in lighting... they would block about 4-5 inches of my tv... i'm forced to go custom..
He has two already but one is just a much better brand of the one that’s on it. For his models that require fine work. He printed a hard case to hold them and all the small tools/spare parts. I was surprised to see it print the piano hinge in place. I was expecting it to require assembly. It's funny because when I was shopping for my cloning tent, I'd see reviews like these

His has a pebble top on atm. He has one or two on the way still, ones flat/smooth. They are magnetic and lock in pretty tight. We wait for it to get below 30* then lift it off and flex it a bit to pop them off. I may end up repurposing my clone tent by turning it sideways if the printer will fit.
I have lots of lights like T5HO single lamp fixtures I can mount to the cross bars. Right now I use a led panel on an adjustable arm with a clamp mount behind the printer.
I suppose a light would be something Zen would need as well but the room mine is in is kinda dark.
It is funny though how tents for wardrobes and 3d printers are pretty much a grow tent but the word "grow" doubles the price

Nice. His comes with one side light you can turn off/on but an overhead would be much better. I’ll show him yours.i put strip lighting on mine when i first bought it.. it's really convenien
You mean they wear out too?i just picked up two of them on a black friday sale.. they're double sided so they should last me the year...

both the funky monkey and the rancid runtz muffins grew out great. zero complaints from me. i'll be giving bootleg seeds another try in future for sure!!!
only thing i notice is the bottom side is all blue and was black in the past.. where the exhaust come out..
Nailed it
I can tell a difference in the back where the design stops on the one and continues on the other. This stuff reminds me of my childhood. My dad was an auto graphics painter and before the whole tech wave of vinyl printing he hand lettered graphics for local modified and sprint cars. they would have this car show at the local mall every year and it was really cool the cars he painted would always win. Then everything turned into vinyl and he retired because a 24 hour vinyl sign shop could do the job in a day that would take him a week.Bold new paint scheme coming for the #5 in 2025

I'm thinking Coach saw how much was being invested into Chase Briscoe Racing by his dirt sponsors and saw the light. Funny thing is that his sprint car is #5 now and not 14 but he still has Mahindra as his main sponsor and about a dozen or so others investing in that dirt team.
C. Bell is just all kinds of hell yeah with that change!
And guess what man. Another free Truex RC car showed up on my doorstep this morning!!! This is just getting crazy.
Three 's are in my livery now.
he tried to teach me to airbrush when I was a kid and I was horrible at itah hell yeah man, that is so awesome!!!! that is one talent i never got to try. those pin stripers back in the day were incredible!!!!
i've always wanted to try it.. i have a pretty steady hand... closest i ever got was those stick on stripes!!!!
yeah i always felt that was kinda raw for coach shutting the dirt down, he was thinking with his pocketbook on that decision and lost a tiny bit of respect from me when he decided no more extracurricular racing.. but good on coach Gibbs, way to rethink it and make good on the decision!!!
you got a fourth car?!?!?! damn when are you starting your own racing league??!?! haha
.
.
getting ready to format my PC and start over... got some poopy in it somewhere causing it not to sleep and my torrent client is acting fishy recently so i'm gonna delete everything and start over!!!! in a couple hours i'll have a brand new PC super fast!!!!!!
hope i don't fuck nuthin up!!!!
