Last I heard still working on it.

I think the more natural setting is like my standup tower. I think it would avoid wind burn. Just a guess.

I was going to employ a tower fan for air circulation but decided the desktop oscillator mounted on the roof was a better option although the tower could pull double duty as below and above canopy air circul;ation.

I like the crew chief change on the 14. A lot more chatter on the scanner and the discussions remind me a lot of the #5 team. Sounds like they've wiped their data clean and are starting from scratch in races now, like they were working with bad info all year.. It has it's growing pains but they're building something special on the 14 team
I miss anything?

Good info man.
I know I already dislike that external power supply. Outlet real estate has become real tight with all the winches and stuff I put in. My light mover uses that same type of plug and yep it takes two spaces or I plug it in on the end of a power strip. I'm gonna have to add another power strip.

I'll be really curious if they work with the ACI controller even though my vivos won't be on a controller at least for now since I can get to them

i don't have one to try but from what i read, no they don't communicate. the vivosun uses a standard usb c cord for comms and the infinity has a different pinout. same connector, just different pinout. so with a little soldering and heat shrink you could make them all talk with each other.

from what i read people like the vivosun controller and app much better. oscillation is controlled via controller and app on the vivosun too..

the one fan i have with a wall wart and it's no biggie for me... but a few of them and i wouldn't like it. if it burns up i'll replace it with a laptop type power supply that has wire on both sides of the xformer.

but if you buy a special strip just for the vivosun make sure it's a normal orientation because vivosun is sideways. I have a power strip with the outlets already sideways to help with normal wall warts then i get this fan and the plug is sideways!!! grrr..

one cord i use sometimes to beat the warts are these one foot cords...they make the wart more of a dongle instead of taking up room at the outlet..

and just so i can get in the other funny word you like,,,,, the other day i was having issues on my printer so i changed out the nozzle and now it's all good again!!! it was clogged a little just above the nozzle... three colors of filament came out of it when i cleaned it!!!!

I agree. I get that you want a more natural, varying wind but I'm not sure how much more beneficial that would be versus a constant wind speed. I bought a 10" fan oscillator for the 5 x 5 and I plan on changing the wind speed every couple days manually so no need for the automation but it is nice to have.

Are you running the ACI Controller 69 Pro Wifi? I've heard they have some issues with fans or did they fix that issue?

no sir, i don't have a controller for either brand at all. both my fans are in the doorway so it's very ez for me to reach them. not sure if i'll get a controller down the road or not, it would only be for cool factor though.

the lower speeds it fluctuates down to i would agree it would prevent wind burn. but the setting makes the fan travel all the speeds and anything above six is way too much in my space so i'm afraid if i turned this feature on it could cause wind burn... not taking the chance, i have it on a nice movement right now and i'm not sure what speed number it is but i just watch the plants and i really like having the option of so many speed settings.

i'm sure hamlin isn't getting a xmas card from larson this year. i never heard larson so mad before, he was pretty mad and i'm glad cliff daniels said something to him at the end so he didn't do anything stupid. but i think that ruined their friendship. but fuck it, who wants friends like that anyway!!! sucks for the rest of hamlins team though, they had to stay in the poconos last night with the locals while bitch ass hamlin flys out!!!

and yeah man the poke your nose is a sweet sweet area... it will never be commercialized there and it is always a beautiful place to vacation. winters can get pretty rough up there but still gorgeous country!! i inherited my grandfathers house up there in bear creek and it's one of the nicest places on the planet bro!!!! wildlife for miles and miles!!!!

and i'm not sure if they showed it or not i didn't watch the prerace stuff but that race track is all green energy and gets it's power from panels. and they don't even add emissions to cut the lawn where the panels are... they have sheep!!!

and yeah dillion needs to reach out to tony stewart on helmet throwing lessons!!!!!!!!!!!

i really like the 14's new crew chief, i was listing in to their radio yesterday and really enjoyed the communication they have with each other already!!!

but bro i totally missed the squirrely comment.... i'll look on the tube later.

i didn't watch much at the end, i think i was more bitter than larson even was... i went out and mowed the lawn. this was mow number four on the year, i'm a true slacker when i comes to grass. but i only burn gallons a month for lawn, these fuckers around me are using huge mowers and cutting four to five times a month... it doesn't help the earth having all the useful grass and then pumping pollution in the air just to keep it looking perfect!!!

i didn't do much to the grow at all. i got the material for the drip tray and put it together without making any mistakes so now i have a piece left over big enough to make a second tray for the other cabinet!! i din't put it in place yet i was kind of waiting for these pedestals for under the plants so the pots weren't just sitting on smooth plastic and i didn't want to take a chance on any runoff pooling under them at all. so i picked up a six pack of these...



if it works out i may be able to "slide" the plants out at harvest making almost as ez as the turntable. i'll post up some pics later after i take all that nasty plastic sheeting out and pull down the duct tape!!!

i put some lumber under the plywood to try and angle it towards the front right corner and i have a few inches of space to the floor so i could easily print something that could funnel from the tray to a catch jug, only if i need to though i'd rather not put any holes in it, it's brand new!!



i was able to use my welder to heat up the sides and bend them up on all four sides so the only seams i have are in the corners so it was pretty ez to seal up. i was actually very shocked how ez this was to make. you can see i had runoff sitting in the saucers by the dirt ring... that's no good. so now i should be good especially with the pedestals to lift them up an inch. btw, they don't slide.

so now we got bigger lights....

And yep I gotta few of those 1' dongles hahaha! Using one on my Ruck fan now since I made it's cord super short. With the 1 foot dongle it's just long enough now.

Nothing intentional but he just thought it happened another way.
And speaking of Logano...The driver of that tow truck fucked his ride up dragging it around like that!!! He was all crying on the radio, "They're tearing my nose off!" hahahaha!!!

ya know if i didn't make that tray i would have bought one of those mats... seems better than the thin sheeting i had. anything is better than doing it that way!! and man i'm so glad i went with the risers too and even more so today... turns out the plants are much easier to move around with the lifts, spins really smooth too. it helped quite a bit today when i gave them a well overdue trimming. looking closely at your tray is made me want to get those risers to begin with. your trays design is also why i tilted the whole thing to one corner because it looks like all your drain veins lead to that sump on your tray and I really wanted to achieve the same principle of nothing pooling under the containers and also having all the spills go to one dedicated spot on the tray where a plant doesn't sit. so i feel i tricked my setup into believing it has those same features.

so yeah i trimmed all this off tonight....



now you can see the forest through the trees sort of speak....



that really seemed to help with them not being so squashed in, they seem to have some room to breathe now and should help them out growing forward. i know it sure does give the new fans a better fighting chance!!!



hey i wanted to ask you did you notice the oscillation is louder from the vivosun than the infinity? almost seems like the infinity is quieter overall even the fan part. on high they're both noisy but on lower speeds the vivosun seems to make more noise on mine. idk.. noise means friction which means wear. so i might change my mind and get another infinity instead.

The Vivo is a little louder I agree. Also slower on the oscillation but it could be since I have mine on it's side going up and down.
So far it's a toss up. I like both and each has a little something better than the other but yeah I think the ACI has a slight edge. Vivo controller does look better though.
I think a good duel is what I have going with the two vertical fans. They're both being used in ways I'm sure Vivo and ACI would not approve but it's thru grow room abuse we find out what holds up. Not gonna beat the shit out of these fans but what I need them to do outweighs company ideas on how to use them. Which ever vertical dies first will likely decide for me but if both hold up for three or more years after what I put them thru I'll consider both to be pretty darn good little fans.

I think desperation is setting in for a lot of teams and each week it just gets more intense. Like the playoffs have already begun!
Gonna be a wild weekend!!

Love the 3D printer work on the funnel too man. I made a watering can with xtra long snout for watering airpots that have plants with leaves covering the soil surface. It's like almost every hurtle can be solved with a 3D printer

Take it ez Buddy and happy hump day! First day of Fall camp here so I'll be grinding but still lurking for the next few weeks. August just sucks bro. Long days, late nights, cereal and sandwiches for dinner but every day is one day closer to the next vacation!!

And you won't believe this but for the first time in many years I'm skipping the OU game in favor of playoff racing at Fort Worth. Last year was rough driving up for the race then going back the next week for the game so this year we're just doing the race. So yeah I think I'm addicted brother. First it was Chicago just to see a race and now cancelling a football game in favor of a race.
And to think it all started with you talking about Larson and racing then one day us deciding to go to COTA to see wth ol Stoney's talking about.

bro i was so hoping you were still on vaycay.. well keep hydrated man! i saw last month arizona was the highest recorded temperature in any state ever. and you ain't far from there so i can't even fathom the heat you endure. we just ended a month long heat wave ourselves.. you're gonna laugh at me but it was in the low 90's EVERYDAY!!! for me that's hot, i get grumpy over 88* so july sucked a little. sunday the heat broke and i don't think it went above 80 that day... it's 61 out right now in the middle of the night... windows open, house fan on!!!

well i'd probably pick new hampshire but that's only because i never been there. plus it could be fun to piss off an entire state making fun of the 22!!!! hahaha but pocono is awesome from the infield if you have a big bus to stand on, other than that all you get is the start finish and pits, you can't see turn one or turn three, the infield you normally can see one and two and not three or pits at all. the family area gets the tunnel turn three but can't see the rest of the track at all. and the side boards suck there they only show like the top five if i remember.. almost better to watch on tv.

NH is a much smaller track and i bet you can see almost the whole thing from the stands. but i never been, i was to new england dragway four times though. only about a five hour drive from here.

what you thinkin of maybe seeing one at either next year? if so man, i'd love to go with ya, which ever one you choose i'd be down.

two of the tall branches on the front zangria were out of control and affecting how high i had to raise the lights to give them coverage and it wasn't working for me so i gave them both the ol kink a roo... and tied em over with a printed clip, like ya say anything is possible with a 3d printer..





it leveled the canopy much better and i should be ready for the distance now...



i also noticed i had some gnats!! got em on the tanglefoot!!



check this one out bro, it caught the bug on a piece of hair stuck to it upside down in mid air... how cool is that?!?!?!



so i hung a few more. i only printed five so i think i might want more...

I've been really lucky on bugs but have a new can of the spray on tanglefoot. I ran out of the paint on version and got the spray being really curious but haven't had to use it yet. Which I don't mind at all hahaha!

Yeah that's state fair OU game. Yep. Deep fried lobster and other delicacies....turkey legs...yelling OU sux every 5 minutes...all of it on the shelf this year.
Last year was just brutal. The race was like 5 hours long and TMS was a screaming hot skillet that day. Then 5 days later we did it again going to the game. It's a 5 hour round trip drive I'm not very fond of either.
Plus we've been to that game so many times for so many years a break will be nice and maybe we'll miss it again, who knows. I'll save some cash on hotel and fair spending and just enjoy the weekend on my sofa watching the game.

Fucking heat is no joke this year man. 27 days of over 100 now and no rain. Usually 106 and it's just brutal. Can't do shit outside after 10am. Everything wilted and sun stroked. Just harsh dude. Drinking tons of water and eating very light.
Trying my drinkables every night and man that Dixie is on the nasty side. Decent high but that shit tastes like pure syrup going down.
So far I'd rank Loud and the RWB as the best. Dixie is ok but way too sweet and this other thing I got called Squeeze is a good high but gross and weird to use.
Ya know it's weird. I can hit a 90% THC cart and drink a 100mg bottle of fucker upper juice and it will get me very high, but an old school mid 20ish THC % rolled fatty gets me fucking stoned. Funny how that works.

the start of the race was pretty exciting, some unexpected teams having troubles... i didn't get to watch the second half from today yet. i'll watch it tomorrow. we had a pretty shitty morning, had to bury a good friend that lost the good fight to cancer last thursday. so by time we got home and then i took care of a few chores i just wasn't feeling it. then a big storm ripped through and knocked the power out anyway so i'm kinda glad i didn't get into the race. power came back on and i checked out the plants and both fans were back on!!

wait till y'all see my plants... cotton tops everywhere!!! must be a hundred of em!!! so i've already decided a few things about the next round. i won't be going back to sip buckets and cages, i've never seen so many buds in my cabinet!!!

i busted out my tea brewer a few days ago, then i remember why i didn't use it more often... i messed up the design and it's painfully slow to empty it out. so i ordered a few new fittings and i'm going to revamp the whole thing and make it better. but the plants got a good watering of compost tea and they loved it!!! i watered em again the next day and had runoff for the first time in the new tray and my boards angling it worked great, all the water ran right to the corner and was super ez to suck up.

i also topped all the containers off with some fertilized soil so they should absorb that in soon too. and i ordered two more fans, i went with the vivosun pretty much came down to $37 vs $55. i needed one more for the flower cab and i needed one for my veg cab because i'm gonna start the next round in a couple weeks.

for some reason i can't post pics so i'll try tomorrow...

got my new fans today so now i have airflow across all six plants and not just four and a half. still dealing with the stretch though almost and inch a day yet and tomorrow starts week four!! i don't have much room left in the winches so i hope there about settled in and ready to frost up!! once this round is done i'm going to remove the turntable instead of just covering it up, that should give me and extra three of four inches. and with four inches more i wouldn't even be talking about this right now. not worried yet, just noticing it.

so i think i may have accidentally mixed up a couple seeds, i'm not sure but it looks weird how the rear corner plants look more similar to each other and the two front corner plants look more similar to each other... the back two are much shorter and the same as each other... i don't know if i mixed em up or not but i really think i'd like to move the plants around quick while i still have the chance... i think i'm going to put the shorter two on one side and the taller on the other then i can adjust to light for more even coverage.

Langostino tastes a lot like Maine lobster but are the size of a prawn. Just about as perfect a lobster substitute out there so for things like rolls, lobster mac & cheese, they make a nice choice without the high price tag on the meal.
Gonna thaw some for some cold rolls tonight after work. No slaw but I do have some celery I'll chop up and add to it.
Only thing that sucks around here is the actual roll. I can only find regular hot dog buns split down the side. No split tops and I've been wanting to recreate Chicago dogs too but no poppy seed buns here either. Everything is brioche around here which isn't bad but dang, have some choices FFS!
Texas Toast makes for a nice roll or bun. I like to coat both sides with mayo and put it on the griddle it to toast it up

IDK if Y'all get it around other parts of the country but down here there's two Texas Toasts...the frozen kind with cheese or garlic and the fresh baked loaf which is just like your average loaf of white bread but cut thick so each slice is about 2" thick.
We don't use it for sandwich bread but for things like a patty melt, single slice bun roll, and French toast it's usually the top choice in bread to use around here.

thanks Steam!! yeah i felt if i didn't move them now i might not be able to later so i went for it. i was very surprised how strong they seemed while moving them around.

i opted for putting the shorties under one light and the tall two under the other. i started with the two shorts up front but realized i can reach right over it so i figured if i need to access the shorty in the back i still can. and i ended up gaining a couple inches on the headroom adjusting them around. and i got all three fans set up so i feel ready!!!



kinda glad i moved them because i found that the pot risers i used were pooling up in the center cup so i drilled them out before i put em back in...



they're drinking about a 1/2 a gallon a day and starting to want a little more than that so i'm gonna start with three quarts each tomorrow. and wow do they suck it up quick too, as fast as i can pour it from the turbo funnel!!! hehe

but yeah, plants are chillin and happy!!! hehe

made a small project tonight.. put together a tea brewer. i used most of the plumbing from my old brewer so all i needed to buy was a four way tee ( i could have used two regular tees but ya know, YOLO!!) and i bought the rubber reducer to connect the bottle to the tee, and the bottle i found picking up litter a couple years ago, and the corrugated pipe i found dumpster diving a while back collecting pipe for my pond for fish caves. i couldn't get the caulking they used on it off so i never used it for the pond. so i think this whole thing cost me $9 out of pocket.



this was the test run but i plan to put the air pump inside the pipe so the heat from it warms the tea up.



I'm pretty happy with it and i think it turned out slicky ricky!! had to include the 3d printer somehow so i make a bunghole cork/silencer...
