Zen_seeker’s DIY Mixmash

So if we measured the reflected light vs the direct light at the point of reflection the values would be the same? I ask because that would mean that bud sites at the edges but lower in the canopy get the reflected light off the walls whereas lower bud sites in the middle of the canopy don't. Can I assume, from what you've posted, that the lower bud sites near the walls are getting more photons than those in the middle of the canopy?
It’s possible but probably not very significant because its overall photosynthesis we care about not so much individual sites.

Guard dog on squirrel patrol. Twin2 looking good. Little HST on tops here/there.

Twin1 inside is okay. Bit of the skinny new leaf thing going on but tried the new tool.

Three hours after lights on lowest leaf measurement was 22.6 and highest was 26.2. Most 24-25 range.

This morning Twin1 lowest was 26 reaching 30 here and there just before lights out.

Looks like rain, feels humid out, but no rain in report. Smells like cool morning air and peonies.

Solo is about the same. Still recovering from humidity. Temp readings 24-26 before lights out but humidity was a little low. Not sure how it’s going to go today. 27* and hazy/humid. Maybe over night shower.

So yucky & mucky.

Last nights temp test. Chop stick is 8” long and directly over red dot point. Saves battery and lets me see better.

Can’t seem to keep it down the last 30min.
(So many one liners, so little time.)

Took all other plant life out of the zones affected as soon as I lost control of humidity day 1.

Solo was .5/1 on the moisture meter. But received 11L with 600ml runoff which I extract. (And again forgot to PH but used in garden.) *This okay to use in veggies, same soil new/used mix? Worried salts...not much rain too much heat. Garden loves runoff.

Twin1 didn’t need feeding yet. Tonight or tomorrow. Tried to sync with Solo for feeding convenience. Not doing that again. Nope. So Twin1 is about two days behind.
(Aqua’s old water thread covered different shaped pots. Thought it would be interesting to see. Not. Same volume but the lower water line makes a difference all right. Think it started the drift in watering days as well. Hard to say with the issue(s).
At least humidity is something that answers questions and returns.

Need something better. This old manual one is missing knobs and is almost as old as I am. New ones don’t last long so I save this.

I have a portable Danby AC/dehumidifier with 6” intake/output ports. Thought about hooking it up to the tents and then duct to the dryers junction box. (Dryer exhaust has a junction box we can flip to vent into the basement in winter.) Don’t have any Y but I think I have about 15’ flex duct.

I can vent the fans exhaust and then collect the water in its reservoir. Air comes into room but only one door could close as exhaust will need to run down the hallway. Imagine that’s going to need to be short. Hot humid air would be an issue and a mold concern. Pin this for later.

Can always defoliate if it comes down to that or mold/infection… less leaves… equals less water uptake…. Equals less humidity produced

Both are starting week three this week. Solo needs a bit more but I’m waiting until she’s a little better. Twin1 I’m looking at a way to push the three main stems away in a brace. Then clip off the little stems in the middle that aren’t worth it and maybe a few side ones I leave as testers.

Tonight that’s the plan anyway. Twin1 I’m okay with. Solo is the worry. She was great till the last tuck and humidity right after.

These leaves and flower nodes are really close together. Only at stretch did the new ones open a bit. I fear having nothing left to flower if I trim to far.

I’ll post tonight after lights on. See what you think. I’ll hack away after that under direction. Still have at least 6gig left.

I mean pulling 6-8 of the biggest fans shouldn’t be an issue but will help a bit… sounds like your just right on the line so that maybe enough to just get you there

Had a reply. Closed the app bouncing from text to post. 🤦

Lost it and my train of thought.

Solo is looking much better with better humidity. Twin1 is looking much better as well. With only one or two discoloured leaves.

Twin1 hasn’t eaten in 6 days. I’ll check in an hour but I’m betting tomorrow night.

Looks much better for colour. Aqua was right on. She was hungry, just needed to drink.

Looking for things to brace then pluck and trim Twin1. Solo I might give another day. Seems every time she’s good I muck her up.

I didn’t move the fans up yet either.

Pretty sure I mixed up A & B in the first 10 seconds. But you’ll see what I mean. Mains or shoots basically.

I hope this shows things alright. Only a few yellow leaves were harmed in the making of this film.

Sitting on the table I can see light gets to the middle. I used softwire to pull branches outward/downward.

It’s like every leaf is feeding a nice bud. I don’t mind a little larf but if I’m going to finish this a hero rather than goat I need to act.

So A, B, or C that I can’t recall so feel free to use. (I suppose A & B with C is possible.)

=-=—=-=—=-=—=-=—=-=—=-=—=-=—=

Edit: I did some A & B, but not much. Opening it up made a good difference in available air and light.

All the lollipops still have between 8”-10” of foliage.

Solo I just did more under table trimming. Got to get under her on my back somehow. Tomorrow. Backs singing.

Looks better. Think we’re good for now.

Okay so it’s just an exercise ball. Works.
Short sessions on my back seems okay.

Can’t sleep, sitting up with Willow.

Clones Flower week 3 day 15.
Buds are coming in, nice to see. Let’s save the BBQ until after harvest this time.

Twin1:

Each branch is between 8” and 10” want to see how far the the light reaches.

Solo: Still have a bit more under table trimming.
B5EB50CA-DBC6-4281-A927-9F3B5D166025.jpeg

Getting there. When would be a good time to switch to 100% on the 300w. End of week 3 start of 4? Assuming they can handle it. We’ll see.

Just start slowly increasing until you see a little stress then back off a couple inches. About every 2 days would leave you enough time to see

Lights have been on the ceiling since flip. No more room. Bend tuck and dial % is all I have.

Photontek SQ300w only does 25% steps and 450w Phlizon clone dimmer sucks so I match the Photontek with a LUX meter.

ATM 300w is at 75% and 450w is a little higher at 500 LUX.

At the end of the week I can bring up the 450w bit by bit. Would setting the 300w to 100% one day and 75% the next for a week help or a waste of time?

Other thoughts?

Still smoke and campfire smell in the air.

Garden seems unconcerned.

Inside the tents have been great for temp and humidity again. Working as originally planned just by opening a window. What a difference a day makes.

Willows under the weather but mending. Should be back to her regular self tomorrow. She joined me on the stoop a bit before going inside to sleep.

Hey, I didn't get my G3000 ( 300W) up to 100% until weeks 4 after my largest feed and I kept it there until today 8 weeks now I'm backing it down to 65%ish and let them ripen with a lower intensity . I've also cut back the food last night to below veg rates. I have been bumping my hours up to 18 at this point in a few of my past grows but I can't do that this time because my doors wide open and the light may fk up my 5x5 with passive intakes being used. I did crispy one bud that grew too close but the rest are great. I think as they get more food they need more light

Cool, thanks PC. I’ll split the tents then.

450w with crappy dimmer I’ll see about slowing bumping. 300w I’ll give a extra week before going from 75 to 100%.

Got to finish trimming under table tonight.

I have my revegged auto alone in my 5x5 with 2 SE3000 over it. One over the top and the other at a 45* both @ 50%. 3-4 days into flower. I keep laying her over as much as I can and both lights aren't over kill with her. Its a shame I'll have to move her into the 3x3 under just 1 G3000 when they're done so I have the 5x5 open for 6 auto pots

Busy man. Thought you were taking it easy for a bit? Why the revegged auto? Didn’t know you could reveg an auto.

lol...Either did I,,,,,,I cut a lower branch off an auto1 -2 weeks after It flipped and stuck it in a 1 gallon bottle of water....it stayed green and I'd add a drop or 2 of what ever nute I was pouring on my plants to the bottle to fill it up....it flowered and buds showed on it.....then about 1 month later I saw a single root out of the bottom so I planted her. That was last Dec/ Jan. so 6 months later she's an out of control beast I just flipped and took 3 cuts from the bottom and stuck them in a gallon of food...3/3/3,,, 4 days ago...no room to put them in anything yet but I'd like 1 cut to survive.......

Busy day but not with the big girls. Cooler day. Less smoke, more wind, little sun.

Trying to get a few more chores off the list while things are working and not complaining too loudly.

Found the back roses under attack. Need to get on that.

This is Clip at 16 days. This is the clone replacing Topper. She’s already had yellow LST clips hence her name.

I didn’t top her exactly. I bent her over both sides then cut off extra length. After a week or two she’s ready for me to bush out. (I’m going to be in real trouble one day when I get a heavy Indica and do this.)

We’ll leave her another week or until ready for feeding.

I’m hoping the flowering will be over and Clip can move in to SCROG right after a good cleaning. 🤞

I would keep clip in that pot as long as possible and then transplant 2 weeks before going to flower with her.

Off to a good start with that one.

It’s week 3 Flower day 19 on the farm today.

So these guys are going to be a problem if I don’t get a trellis or support setup. I’m thinking side not top growth now.

Keep saying rain, keep pushing it back. I should feed them now so we get a thunderstorm.

Giving a few clones away to make room for foundlings. Wifey needs to stop looking them in the eyes and bringing them home.

And they all need a haircut again. 🤦
