I don't think I used enough paper towels this time. DJ Short's Blueberry wasn't out yet but it was popped and headed down. It's still in the VG with a couple others. They all needed a little assistance so, while I had them open, I pulled them up a bit and smashed the paper towel down a little more compact. They aughta shed the shell and can replace whatever I feel shouldn't make the cut.

I'll build my upper manifold when I need to free up the space for clones. That line will be made out of 3" pipe to give the moms some more room for wigglin' and cut down on my cloning intervals.

I assume that'll be in 3 weeks or so.

Somehow my loaded brain read your initial post as saying the seedling was in stretch LOL!

One day in and we've already made a substitution. Double Dream must've been a hair short cuz she dried up.


So, for @Stoneyluv 's viewing pleasure, DJ Short's Blueberry joined the bench. It just needed a little daylight to start opening up.


Now I'm just hoping the CBD strain sheds it's membrane. My best friend had to give up smoking for his heart (gives him palpitations) but he's hoping he can partake if it's a CBD strain. I'll grow pounds of it if it means I won't have to quit smoking with him every time he visits.

hey i could use your help with that final netpot you use. does your collar sit even with the top like this? how about the hole in the middle, do you cut any out to fit a big stalk?

I've got some weird redness sticking to my roots and accumulating around the plant sites.

I can't really see any of it in the res, but it's black in there..

I'm running Athena's Cleanse, which is just hypochlorous acid. Is this growth of some sort? It coincided with a spike in pH. Could it be that some nutes precipitated out of the solution due to the pH? It reached 6.7 before I adjusted it down this morning.

I'm hoping it's just iron.

i believe when the nutes participate out it is the iron and copper that goes first. try a strong magnet maybe and see it if moves with it at all.. idk, i'm just spitballin..

I'm not sure if it's the same iron, but the iron in us is not magnetic.

It would explain the red color, though.

yea you're right on that.. its called a non meme or heme iron or something like that now that you mention it.

I haven't had this issue before, no. I had some staining but I atteibuted that to the root plugs. I'll get a red buildup when I start getting really concentrated with the bloom nutes, but that's not the case here.

Only thing different I did was just a water rinse after running bleach. Then I through in the cleanse for a day with the exhaust on high. That, and the RO res sat for a couple weeks with no action. It did have a slime on the hose that fed the system. Not red though.

I dumped all that and cleaned it up and got my RO set up with new filters. We'll do a res change in the morning and see if that helps at all.

The red on the roots didn't feel slimy at all, so I'm still leaning toward ls iron fallout and I'll be more careful with this next batch of nutes. Not sure how to get it out of the manifold, though. Fish tape and some paper towels, I suppose.

Seedlings are doing great though. Looking for more light already.
