Grump's Mother-plant Grow 🌿

Well I threw myself a curveball..
Cloned Banana Sapphire on accident...
I took one clone from the '78 Caddy and, for some reason, went right into cloning the next one in line...

So next up is Banana Sapphire, assuming my clones root.

Gonna have to get the flower setup finished...

blue cheese is out?

blue cheese is out?
So the mom is still in there...

I took a clone off of the '78 Caddy and then filled up the cloner with the next plant in line, Banana Saph. Then I trimmed the crap out of the remaining plants before I realized what I had done...

The branches I left on the Blue Cheese didn't look like worthy clones, and the branches worthy of cloning were now in a pile on the floor with multiple plants' trimmings, so I didn't worry anymore about it. If these don't root in a week or so, I'll replace them with some Blue Cheese cuts.

I'm an idiot. I specifically DID NOT want to run this strain because I just ran a Sapphire strain. It was a heavy yielder though, and they say the same about the Banana Saph, so I'm trying not to beat myself up over it. Leave me alone.

dude i like banana stuff a lot!!! especially for concentrates. banana punch is my all time favorite. i have five BP growing right now actually!!!!

i personally don't think you'll be disapointed at all just because it has some sapphire in it. i'd take a banana strain over a cheese strain anyday!

you're gonna grow out and flower four, yes?

and don't beat yourself up for mixing up plants or clones... we ALL do it!!!!!!! more than once..

Yeah I really like the banana and pineapple strains.

Ha yeah. Mostly faux disappointment in running a similar strain twice in a row.

Yeah man. 4 on the floor baby.

Haha yeah. I knew it'd happen eventually. Heck it already happened with the 2 back-ups that I left in the VG. Moonglow and Doppelganger. Didn't know which was which so I gave them away.

Yeah I really like the banana and pineapple strains.

i've had some really good pineapple chunk but personally have never been able to grow it well at all. comes out nothing like what i smoked. same for me with strawberry cuts, i have the worst luck with strawberry strains. but i like smoking them!!!

Ha yeah. Mostly faux disappointment in running a similar strain twice in a row.

ehhh.. over rated.. i grew GPS exclusively for a few years. a lot were very similar!!!! no complaints here..

Yeah man. 4 on the floor baby.

ahhh yeah, with a fifth under the seat!!! hehe i knew you tossed around a few ideas of lining them up and changing the layout but wasn't sure if you were changing the numbers.

i got unknown mix ups right now in my hydro start!! i know they're both sun of a peach but which one i'm not entirely positive yet. oh well... haha

I’m sure my sons red cups with the clear inside have been mixed up. But I’ve grown the SB#22 & GG#4 a couple times now and can tell them apart, especially in flower.

Roots in 6.5 days. My fastest roots yet.

I better get to moving on the flower tent...

Edit: checking back through this thread shows that 6 days is right on time with all my other clones. 6 days is nice.

i always wanted to try and incorporate a wave maker in an nft tube.. high water/low water, up and down all day!!

i had nothing but good things from trimming from my roots this first time!! it promoted a lot of side growth. without a doubt it will become part of how i start them going forward.

thats the vision alright!!! only the water still circulates and it's done with solenoids inside the tube so the tube and plants don't need to move.

one of the things that make aquaponics so great is the quick dump of water, this causes oxygen to get drawn all around the roots and then fills back up and saturates them. this cycle happens over and over constantly. i think a wave could simulate this same wet/dry cycle.

Between you three you remind me of a water purification art/sculpture in one of our parks beside the DVP and Don River. It was built in the late 1990’s. You can see water run out the “trunk” side into the next one.

We always called it the three elephants. This is an older pic as I’ve seen it with large trees and other foliage driving past on the highway.

It’s sort of like Bandits fallponics.

It breads all the right microbes to purify the water before returning it to the river. Not sure if you can drink it?

Every clone rooted including the '78 Caddy 👍

These things are happy too. Seems like they enjoy the same mix of shit. That Cypress Vine is a twisty sumbitch and has no issues climbing. I wonder if they'll ever flower under 18 hours of light...

Running bleach through it all. Got a lot of cleaning up to do downstairs, but these buckets are about ready for some plants. Bout time for another journal.

With the amount of aeration from the fallponics, am I even needing an airstone in each bucket? Me thinks I can get by without...

Really like that setup. 👊

Me too, assuming you're talking about the mother/cloner... That things been working well. I've got some kinks to work out, like the toppling moms, but so far so good as a cloner. Pretty sure I'm at or near 100% success with it, and fast.

I like the vines being there too, so long as they don't completely plug it up. Their roots slow down the flow headed into the cloner section. Neat little perk to that experiment. I hope they flower 🤞

Likely. First I'll clone them all and start them over. Gonna try out a few training techniques like how to trim for space and future clones.

I need to get a couple beans popped to fill those empty spots. Double Dream will make a comeback just for you. Then I'm thinking about the Jabba's Stash that Costanza made. Were those regulars, @Costanza ?

Well they made the jump.

Moved the 4 best clones over to the big-girl tent.
I've got the light real low but I didn't have time to throw a humidifier in there before I was off to work.

I'll start a new journal when it's clear that they're gonna make it in the new bathwater.

Cloned all the moms to shrink 'em back down.

Zamal Dreams is throwing pistols. Those are just preflowers, eh? Still under 18 hours of light.

Pretty sure I'm seeing the same thing on the '78 Caddy. Didn't need to clone and flower it to find out the sex. Looks like a ballsack to me though, but we'll find out soon.

Same thing happens in flood and drain and why I like it so much. SIP does it too but in a passive sorta way.
It's funny too because there's something to plants being watered from below, like it stimulates them to have water rise from the roots up instead of washing down. The hippies on a netflix gardening show touch on it too like it's a green thumb secret to gardening

That's super cool man and I bet you could drink the water but it would probably be like yogurt and have some probiotic qualities to it. Like 8oz would be good for you but 40oz might have you on the porcelain throne all day:poop:

Cloning mojo is strong in your world man! All is looking great!

Fluming is widely considered a better way to aerate than using and air pump and both accomplish the same thing. Using both together is redundant but doesn't hurt unless the airpump heats the water.
Kinda reminds me of the first generation of ezcloner that came with an airpump but didn't need it since it had sprayers. Now cloners don't come with airpumps lol.

So far, the chiller has been able to keep up. I figure I'll leave the bubble bars in there for a nice little upskirt lift action

I’m pretty sure a public figure or politician did when it was first unveiled. I recall seeing some man drink it, once, a long time ago. I also remember seeing the clear water running out the final elephant.

The last time I saw them up close was riding a bicycle with my daughter in the park when she was around 10. She’s 32 now. 😳

This is a whole mess of numbers...

Who's taking bets on how long I continue to use this thing?

It controls the exhaust and humidifier. Crap the 69 pro can control. I don't need it to watch my water... I have BlueLabs for that. The charts better be the bees knees or I'll be tossing this clanker in a tote for the spiders.

my opinion is if you don't have issues than all of it is worthless.. if the plants are growing great what are ya gonna look at on a chart?

i only say this because i recently got the guardian and have a chart. so now i get to see three straight lines on a graph.. hahaha what exactly can i even do with that? i thought it would be cool but three days in and it;s pretty boring.

but hey i love the chicken arms!!!!!!!!!!

Trends are nice to have if you run into plant issues, but that's about it. I like monitoring the environmentals (temp/rH), though. It's helped me get a heater unplugged and a humidifier filled while I was at work.

but hey i love the chicken arms!!!!!!!!!!
Hell yeah! Needed something to hold them up. Feels weird giving the AI controller arms though.
