Greenpoint Seeds

Buyer beware?

I've been trying to get in contact about an order I placed with Greenpoint Seeds. It's been hard to get a response, so far I have had to dig through forums to get some info (like this one). I haven't received my seeds but the payment went through. Anyone have suggestions or is this a straight up loss for me?

Also if the genetics are weak, is it even worth planting if I do get them? Been hearing a lot about hermies

The owner @Gu and his breeder both have an account here.

Not sending seeds is a new one. They've always been good about that in my experience but yeah other things like hermies, different strains with different names being exactly the same as each other, and mutants can be found in many packs.
The more recent the cross, the more risk of any of those things emerging in the pack.

Personally I unloaded most of my GPS seeds, at least 20 packs and maybe as many as 40, and will not buy anymore. I've kept some I've already grown and only one new recent cross. I will grow them eventually but it's a gamble.

Everything is on a pre-order basis because Gu is just flinging shit left n right, so they will ship when he has stock of them in guess 🤷🏻
Heisen (Gus breeder) has left the facility. All done with Gus Bullshit and shitty sales tactics like 3000 seeds for 150 bucks.....

If you ordered regs they won't ship til middle of next month.
If you ordered fems and don't have tracking, well you ain't getting them this round.
Idk what to say but gu is an ass.

To think there was a time when GPS took cash and would ship before they got the cash as long as you sent a live tracking # of the cash being sent.
Just a wild and weird reversal of business operations. You could have never convinced me in 2014 that business would turn into this new shit show in 2025. Seeing it play out has been one of the biggest fails in cannabis I can recall.

I ordered Bison Breath, Texas Butter, and Dreamcatcher. I can't remember if they were fem or reg.

Thanks for the info! Yeah I ordered them due to the low price and the crosses looked good to me, but quickly realized shit was going down after I paid. Looked into Heisen's discord thread and found a lot of unhappy people. The story points in the same direction from all the threads I've seen in grow chats: ownership/management issues with employees and hermie seeds leaving growers up shit creek. I'm now wondering if I should try to get my money back...

yeah a lot of what has happened recently is why Heisen left.
If you ask Gu, he "cracked the whip" and that's why heisen left....
Heisen left cuz gu is running his business retardedly, stealing money from people via weedseed...
I can go on and on and on.
Gu is an ass.
 
I do not have any of those seeds, but message me and i'll provide a list for you to see if you have any interest with what's on hand...

But, if you paid by charge card or paypal, i'd contact them stating you never got your order and would like a refund. Just tell them GreenPoint is not responding to your inquiries, and you should have your money back quickly. I do it all the time.........

Ya I seen some fire on here but I won't grow thier beans again.i usualy only have one shot a year to pull off a decent grow.i cant throw the dice on unstable genetics .

SJ did not hermie for me but was one where it was a definite step back from it's parents or was never what it claimed to be.
There was absolutely no freaking way that strain had anything even close to Headband in it and if the breeder believed it was, he was scammed or lied to, maybe never had real Headband or even worse, lied about it knowing it was fake.
Something similar seemed to be happening with strains being named Stomper, hijacking that name from GGG and making it their own even though they're not working with any Stomper genetics.
The hermies are one thing but the #1 reason I won't deal with GPS is that I believe their strains are fakes.

It's really hard to nail down the hermie strains though.
It's like, does SJ, GB, LA, and others hermie? Yes.
But does SJ, GB, and LA not hermie? Also yes lol.

Some really old GPS stuff will make my next seed drop just to see if they're still good along with some other very old cuts from other breeders.
The only newer GPS I have and will drop at some point is something called Berry Prankster but along with these, also have 4-5 other strains by other breeders just in case my plants get a case of the Greenpoints and I have to trash them.

I have 3 in the tent that all dropped nuts, just don't have time for the shit anymore. Gonna let em finish cause I'll need the bud. But no more GPS for me.

Ive seen a lot of nice stuff grown from their stock but idk. I've never grown anything that's been mind blowing from gps

I've grown almost exclusively GPS basically since I started. I had always had really god luck with them, went well for almost 2 years, every seed popped & no balls/hermies. However last harvest ended up getting seeded which means obviously one of them hermied. (I wasn't really checking) Then when I went to start up the next round I bought some seeds from Redbeard & was going to grow them with a few GP seeds. I attempted to pop 3 Redbeard seeds & 3 GPS. All three of Redbeards popped beautifully & none of the GPS did anything. Popped 3 more GPS seeds, only one popped, finally did 2 more & only 1 of them was viable. So out of 8 seeds I got 2 to actually pop & one of them actually didn't really grow it's first true leaves, just cotyledon & then a 3 pronged leaf started growing parallel to the cotyledon (as opposed to the 1st true leaves usually crossing the cotyledon) so it may end up a mutant, we'll see.

However it definitely seems quality has gone down hill. I used to recommend them to everybody, but I don't think I'll be using them again unless they just have a killer deal. Even then I'm not sure it's worth it. Hard to plan out my grow when I have no idea how many beans are going to actually pop. Really has this grow off to a weird start as I now have seedlings at different growth stages, some were ready for transplant while the smallest one barely has it's 2nd leaves (it looks really funny in it's 5 gallon pot)
 
So what do we know about the Gorilla Butter S1? I ask cuz im looking at a couple.

Edit: in do remember reading on there website reviews some kid was on there saying that the cookies herm...

Well I tried.
I wanted to give a benefit of doubt but it wasn't meant to be.
This one is on me. 100% grower error and that error was giving Greenpoint a second chance.
The GPS Road to redemption or ruin tour in my room will end in ruin and I just can't anymore. Fun while it lasted.

I made an edit to it's ad and had to go to GPS to get it.
Cringe would be an understatement in regards to what I saw.
Whatever. No need to beat this dead horse anymore. Just venting. Oh...here's that edit if your shopping but doubt Gu has the balls to put it up on his site. His plants have the balls though, so there's that.

#4 is in my GH. It was the #1st to be cut earlier....idk what the hell they are...
One off them i belive is a garlic cookie or some shit,the others are purple banana cookies....
Still early, betting man would bet that more cuts are coming

My sons plant, we dubbed Fugly because of it looking like that, I was able to trim off the yuk and it did great. I was wanting to kill it but due to count and time I gave it a shot and it paid off. (We think.)

I’m not saying it’s going to be worth it but it’s an option. 🤷‍♂️
 
I owe Gu an apology, setting up for this next run I went in the tent and closed it up and I found a tiny light leak up top which could explain why two out of the last three strains I grew had seeds, including his onyx crush.

This would also explain a few seeds I found in the Captain Redbeard Platinum Kush.

I did this test when I set the tent up too, but I didn't notice the leak then, but this time because I suspected something was up I was looking for it, and damned if I didn't find it

Fwiw ive run several runs if his stuff and it always turns out with seeds...
Not 1 run has been herm free with Gu's seeds.
I honestly do not believe it was the light leak(s)
 
I agree..........I'm guessing 75% of his stuff produces hermies to some degree.

Maybe it was simply my good luck or whatever ...

I have grown a good handful of GPS cultivars. I dedicated a couple of entire runs to them and my luck has been quite different. Zero issues with hermies. One of my runs was nothing but Animal Cookie crosses. I've been happy with what I've grown from GPS so far.

I don't mean to contradict but my experience with them has been nothing but positive. Did you experience light leaks? If so, it is a cause of stress.

And FWIW.. every run (5?) of mine has harmed and only two were GPS.

They weren't all super stable genetics, though.

I may have light leaks, may be using bunk genetics and my heater may be glowing a bit?

...but I can't attribute my herms to strictly GPS either.

I have a clone run started up with some of Cannarado's Kitchen Sink. I'll be keeping an eye out for herms, no doubt.

All i know is im running 14 different cultivars this run and not a thing hermed.
Every run of gps hermed.
Same tent, same equipment, same everything
 
Six years buying GPS seeds for fun. Gotta say, it was one helluva run.
I got a hermie here and there, then there were hermies everywhere.
I tried again, to no avail, only this time, it was all male!
I tried to stay bright and sunny, but all I could do is come up with this dumb poem that's not very funny.
