Sun of a Peach, it's Hydroponics SCROG

Looks like they took my offer and already shipped it or at least made a shipping label! They asked $170.
MSRP was over $400 but the outlaw price was only $150...$173 and change after taxes and shipping

sweet man, i've seen those!! that root zone ph probe has got to be awesome!!! never saw one that cheap either.. i'm a big fan of new in box stuff on the cheap cheap!!!!

an update for the week...

lights are about to come on so a tune for that...

just finished week four of flower and i have adjusted my light timer to 11 hours on and 13 hours off. the plants have grown slightly into the minimum height away and don't want tp pound them to much. also a few days ago i added in some bloom booster. about 60% of a full recommended dose. no ill effects, also haven't noticed anything positive either so eh.. maybe over rated, maybe poor envirement.

not much else to report in on.. i'm currently fighting a high RH level and working to get it lower but for now i wish i could get them sweating a bit more. other than that we're on auto pilot here and nothing really left to do but watch the grass grow..

some pics..

thanks for lookin in!!!!!!!! have a great week everybody!!!!!!!!!

You might be able to combat some of the humidity by going to town along the screen removing fan leaves like a muhfucker. Plants don't need them suckers and, with the scrog, there will inevitably be leaves on leaves that create little dew pockets.

yea you're right it would help. and does have dew. they could stand to lose a few pounds in leaves.

i've been busy/lazy/forgetful lately.. my lung room is out of control at the moment so that doesn't help any. but i just spent a solid twenty minutes on them and plucked a good third of the screen free. ( the easy first third that is super easy to reach!! haha)

You need a contraption to suspend yourself above them and lower yourself down..get the wifey to snap some pics if you do.😁.

How bigs your basement..

maybe hook the engine hoist to my belt loop and get her to push me in!!! hahaha ya know though Max, she'd go upstairs and fall asleep and i'd be stuck in there hanging by my britches!!!!! hahaha

my basement is long and narrow.. like 4 meters wide by 24 meters long.

i wonder if my sun winches would hold me!!! hahaha

i was sticky up to my freakin elbows!!!! i grabbed the broom and didn't need to grip the handle it just stuck!!! hahaha i had to oil and wash my hands and arms, that felt weird!! haha

plants are drinking like sailors right now, top off ring keeps getting bigger!!!! PPM's went down about 50 and getting a slight increase in ph. this is new ever since i added the bloom booster i guess this kind of tells me they liked it and i can add a little more and will go to a full dose on my next change out. for now i'll add a little extra extra to the top off and let it sip on some hot stuff till then.

Week ;larupdate...

just finishing up week five of flower.. i'm going to turn the light timer down to just 10 hours on and 14 hours off. lights are at max height and i see a little bleaching.. not bad, but something i may need to address after this grow.

had my first issue yesterday.. my float switch for my topoff pump stuck closed and pumped in about five gallons to much. i'm glad i caught it before it overflowed but this is now the second time it failed the same way so not a glitch but a problem.

seems fine when i play around with it but for some reason that barrel didn't float up and stuck down. i've used these type of floats all my life and this might be the first time i had one fail like that. this was a brand new float i put in when i built this new setup so i took it out and put the one that was in there for over a year and didn't fail... for now i pumped the extra solution in a five gallon bucket and am letting it sip from there so it can't overfill for now in case it fails again till i test it out more. the water level was into the netcups!! everything got a good enzyme wash!! haha

006.JPG007.JPG

don't tell the plants there was an issue... they'd never know it!!!! haha

been drinking P-K like koolaid,, i've been kinda chasing the food for almost two weeks. every time i think i give them enough they eat it right up!! change out gonna happen tonight or tomorrow...

Now go back and do that again. You should be able to look at the top of your cola and see light penetration all the way to your table top. No exfoliating after week 3.5.

Granny, i feel i have not gotten no where near the amount of defol needed for a good successful scrog on any of my grows. i get better but i'm a wheelbarrow full of leaves away yet.. kinda too late on this round as i'm in flower half way now..

defols are the one thing i can't stand, it takes so long, its tough work and ya gotta be so freakin gentle to not break stuff. i need to get better at starting sooner and heavier so the final defol isn't a huge task. i will put more focus and proper dedication to the thining and most importantly keeping all the energy of the plant on those buds only and not the stuff clustered up.

.

plants are growing fine... still trying to get a grasp on my RH.. its a mess and i can't seem to get a handle on it. trying to use mother nature right to see if it will help any. i turned on my whole house fan and opened just the far basement windows and it's like 30% rh outside right.. hot AF but dry at least.. drawing it through now for a couple hours.. probe says it's 74°/53% sitting on a table down there right now so much much better than what it was but the outside rh will start to cllimb soon and i'll have to shut it down and see if the dehuey can keep up.. hoping so... lights don't come on for another four hours so i'll try and get some photos of the buds. they look similar to last week only puffier!! hehe this pheno is not a rock hard one.. these are clones from the plant i grew in soil and now just getting to smoke those and kinda know what to expect.

;pass

It is a little back-breaking but there's no need to stress. Beat 'em up a bit.

I usually pick a line a start by saying "Everything below this get cut, indiscriminately." Then, I have to remind myself out loud "INDISCRIMINATELY" every time I'm debating a cut. I take everything off of the main colas below that line and then I'll take all the fans running up those colas, leaving a few towards the top. After removing all the branches, it's pretty open and easier to trim the remaining fans.

Your situation, with the smashing, might be a little different. Granny could tell ya the better route, but I would would strip the shit out of them a couple days before the smash. Granny does a week, I believe, but these bitches recover so quickly in hydro. There's almost no slowing down. Strip 'em nearly bald, wait a couple days to smash, then wait a couple weeks to thin them out some more. Don't be afraid to take some nugget laden branches. The remaining nugs will grow fatter because of it.

My two cents. Let's see what @CannaGranny has to say though. You've got some time to think about it.

I don't think it'd hurt to take a bunch of fans at this point, though. Like I said.. There's almost no slowing them down.

I get how you feel about the defoliation, as for me it’s all about yield. Everything currently not getting good light, look at it like a leach. It’s taking food, starches and light and will never yield well. In the meantime it’s stealing a lot from your main colas.
The rule when doing a good heavy defoliation is to never mess with the top third of your leaves and never do it after 3.5 weeks in flower. You will have extras at that point, but you can tuck them under the table.
I’m all about a big take in a small space.

Right on @GrumpAzz you are 100% on it!
