Welcome to the Cave of Daily Mishaps

You really cannot do anything because you are trying to finish the other plants in the tent. Praying like that 2 hours or so before lights out would typically mean they can take more light but that will delay you other plants from finishing.
How does more light delay the process? Added stress?

I think my SE5000 is only 480 watts but man am I loving the results so far. Definitely a great light for a beginner like me. I'll eventually want to play with the spectrum a little more, but for now, plant's happy so I'm happy. I think I'm 31 days from flipping and am currently running it at 80%. I have no idea how that translates to DLI but for now I don't care. I'm more interested in learning to read the plant.

I'll leave all that math and shit to the pros handing out advice for free 🤣
Yeah id like the ViparSpectra ks5000 for my 4x4, i have the ks3000 in my 3x3 and its been such a game changer. I can only imagine what a change a bar light in ny 4x4 would be.

Alright cool, thanks man. The other 2 plants seem to be in a good spot so ill just leave it the way it is for now.

There are a ton of really good used Commercial LED's out there. I would suggest looking at used commercial lights over buying new lights.
Take a look at HLG, Gavita 1700E, Luxx, Growers Choice or Fluence. If you guys try to google these you will find there is very few ratings on most of these because the searches are not really accurate. Those searches are influenced somehow. I was going in the wrong direction and one comment changed my mind. It was a tech at a hydro store stating Gavita had came out with an LED. It was the 1650E. Is it not reasonable to reason the inventor of the DE 1000 watt light making an LED would not perform well? Most of these will last over 5 years without any problems. Luxx and Growers Choice might not make that far but I am sure HLG , Gavita and Fluence will.

Yeah i would love to get a Gavita or the Scynce Raging Kush 2, but the price tags are way out of my league.

I love this place. Someone needs to do a "thanks logic" thread and just thank him for being such a douche and for getting this place started HAHA

If it were me I'd bump it up, per Anthem's advice. But I could easily be wrong. He told me that if they're drooping a little before lights out, they've had enough light. Flat is good but could still be close to too much. Perked up like that, I would give them more, especially with how even the bigger fans are reaching for it. I'm only learning, though, so take that with a grain of salt.

I've also seen people say something like "praying" and correlating that to a happy plant.

What say you, @Anthem275?
im quoting @Aqua Man

hes once said paraphrasing, "that its actually trying to reduce its surface area, as in too much light"

i thought they'd droop away and down, which would actually reduce the surface area on the light.

maybe something got mixed/reversed/confused.

alot of information, right or wrong is from the other place, and i cant even find some comments on their anymore.

but heres some more discussion on it.

im getting mixed results on this.

i could take some of the flowering plants i have now that are perking up similarly, and reduce the PPFD some and see what they do.

I picked up my Raging Kush for $995 refurbished. I talked to the company before purchase and these lights were basically shipping damaged, repaired and could not be sold as new. I was looking and those are no longer available. I'm seeing a big difference in this light over the Spider Farmer SE3000. Compare the grow I just harvested with the one under the Raging Kush that will finish in about 4 more weeks. So far, the difference is striking and these flowers have a long way to go still. We'll all know more in about a month.

Not surprising.

And I'd hope it would be better for $600 more (seeing SE3000 now for $300 range) lol

I was very impressed with Scynce.

I recently saw the new AC LEDs (bar array)they look good, but does not have the spectrum tuning feature.

Does the raging Kush?

I know one of the Scynce LEDs do

It also covers a 5x5 which the SE3000 is only good for a 3x3 and has full spectrum adjustment.

Dude, check out the node spacing on the two grow of mine, the one I just harvested, and the one in the 5x5. Same strain from the same mother, very similar conditions in the same room but different light. I cranked up the red and far red during early flower and I think that is what got the nodes so tight.

And yes, they have those lens's that help dispurse the light better. They have a lot of work to do on the app that runs the light, but the light itself is great.

Interesting, because everything I know about red is it also contributes to cell elongation, as In taller/"stretchier" plants, blue keeps them shorter more compact.

Sweet though I'll have to scroll back up through

But obviously, reality speaks the truth.

I might have gotten it backwards. Either way, the flowering app for the kush raised that red to 80%. I just bumped it up to 100% a couple of weeks in. I'm still learning that stuff too and not had a lot of time to spend on it.

Actually, makes sense if they are down, they would catch more photons that are falling down, compared to if they are up and slanted they'd catch less, but a rain gutter will show otherwise (?)

?????

Ah then I'd say the extra intensity is what kept them from stretching because they were happy where they were at.
