they're pretty thick so this weekend i plan to take them out and clean em all up and then put a trellis over them as i put them back in place... i haven't given them any food yet, they've just been on the fresh soil and an upcan. they've gotten nothing but rain water and a handful of times i added a little rapid start and a little enzymes. they won't get anymore rapid start though, roots should be about done growing.. been keeping the rootzone between 28-34% moisture. air temps are about 75F and rh is around 49%. lights out drop it 68 and 56%.. i'm not doing anything to keep those numbers other than keeping the doors cracked open a couple inches.. until the smell is a problem i'll continue not having to use any power or devices for climate control.. i only get windows twice a year with awesome sweet spots in my basement.. now and again at spring.

can't see the forest through the trees!!! hahaha

have a great weekend folks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bushy Bushy..........😎

They all look very happy!

I'm joining in on the Ecowitt party with you.
I went looking for a weather monitor I can rely on since my Pulse device has been dropping off all the time. While searching, I saw Ecowitt stuff is all on sale for black friday on amazon and their home site.

Found the monitor I need for my tent but also found another cool little moisture probe with a wired monitor but it's still portable

Bushy Bushy..........😎

they sure are!!! when i topped them i went a little higher, i topped after node seven. this gave me an extra node to work with for a little more flexibility. i really think i'm going to continue this the next round.

took them out, thinned em, and rearranged a little... i also added a stretchy trellis for something for them to lean on.

i can honestly say man i haven't had a single hink up or issue with the ecowitt.. solid and reliable are the two words that come to mind!!!

only mistake i made so far was mixing up my #6 and my #9 sensor.. i even put a line under the number so i would know.. nope i still messed it up. i thought i was losing it the one night and then just blew it off.. last night when i was rearranging the plants i also switched the sensors so they're in number order and thats when i noticed it!!

are you gonna get the GW1100 to make it wifi too? or just keep it as a local probe with the screen? i like that it can be both!!!

i've learned with this set of containers and the soil blend that exactly 1/2 gallon of water equals 5% on the soil moisture!! this should give me a great baseline to run with!!!

might make a little noise this round... been a while since i had some hard chargers...

when i trimmed them i also added three heaping scoops of fresh soil to the top of each container. the timing on top offs has lined up just right this run. i haven't had to feed yet at all. i plan to make some compost tea next week so that will be their first liquid food.

and i also learned that if i run this size and amount again it will take a full 7.5 cubic yards of soil. (five bags of stonington)

You have any experience with that flower finisher by pride lands? If so any really good way to use it?... Pretty powdery almost liquid....

Lookin sweet man!!!!!

Edit:;:;.. Green gro.......

yes sir, i like it.. they're not drinking as much towards the end so i mix it a smaller amount of water and give it to them as a thin slurry. if you van reach the containers you can always scratch it in the top layer dry. mixing it with a little water is ez peezy though..

i start using just after half way.. about four weeks left. i try to feed the once a week with it and get a little stronger as i go but a little goes a long way. that bag should last you quite a few grows.

Right on man...... I gave it to a couple of them last night I split 10 mils dry between two five gallon pots and I'll water them in again tonight , I had to dig back and some old Green Gro videos to find the dosage... And then I had to dig even a little deeper to find out what the milliliter conversion was to a "little bit" "table spoon" per 5gls water..is what was described....

I know there's instructions on the back of the bag.... Is there a little wonky

It's pretty odd to measure the stuff... For my self- watering pots I just put a pinch and a gallon of water and we'll wait and see what happens.... Thanks buddy...
;pass

Glad you got it working!

for now we're on it... still got a couple months yet so i can't go fuckin it up!!! i always seem to have good starts.. no funky mixed soil or nuthin this round though, fresh from the bag with just a little crab meal added.

i go a little stronger than that.. i start at 1 teaspoon per gallon and end with two teaspoons per gallon of water. but like i said when they don't drink much i still force it on them. i'll just use less water but each plant will get a full teaspoon at least towards the end. i would always feed just a little higher than recommended with SIP just because the water is constantly used and always watering down the nutes. its organic you'll be fine!!

did they change their label or something? seems straight forward...

016.JPG

i remember a couple years ago when i first bought their bloom nutes and it had no directions for tea. this was back when amazon still had questions and answers, they got back to me in a few hours with the amount.. i never tried contacting them directly but that particular time they were helpful!!

You be downplaying this Ecowitt gear, going all low key and shit. ;smoke

All I know is all of them..AC Infinity, Pulse, Vivowonkysun, PINOC, whatever you can come up with aint got shit on Ecowitt.
THIS is the way it's supposed to be!!!
If they get into the control biz, they'll put the others out of business IMO.
Only thing Pulse has going that's better is the spectrometer.
This shit puts AC Infinity AI stuff to shame bro. Not even close.
Moisture probe seems to be the same tech as many other new types using that blade style probe. That blade style is the way to go and far more accurate than those old style with the metal rod.

vivowonkysun!! ;rfl

another thing i like better about ecowitt is the software... years beyond ACI...

ecowitt works across all platforms including PC.. and.. omg they have auto rotate!! my biggest peeve against aci...

Will they work with just an iPhone or is a PC needed for any of the setup or feedback?

Also how deep do the probes go? 3”-4” I’m guessing?

I'll say this about the Vivowonkysun controller and it's the best compliment I can come up...It should have never been put to market and those responsible should be fired.
ACI not having a web portal is another that's really missing the market but if you dig deep, not surprising.
To take that next step and actually be commercial grade quality would lose their main buying demographic. I buy it because I have to tolerate it out of need and not because it's the best.
Pulse is truly next level but often needs to be reset at the router or app.

But yeah, I really like this gateway wifi thing.
It's not even the big enchilada deal, just the small USB device and it automatically found the portable moisture probe on it's own. I didn't have to do anything to link them up.

IMG_2766[1].jpeg

Info it spits out is very accurate and didn't need to be calibrated.
Display looks the same on my monitor or portable screen but yeah I prefer looking at this stuff on my PC.
Pulse can be on PC too and just makes it easier to navigate and read.
My moisture probe is offline because I pulled the battery for now but that probe is gonna come in real handy from using in my tent to outdoors and the veggie garden being able to see and compare rain totals to soil moisture.

Both. The app can work on any device and there's also a web portal to view your data on a PC.

Stoney has the wireless probes so yeah, 3-5" on the surface. I'd be tempted to see how deep I could bury one and it still be able to transmit.
If you attached a pole to the wired version then the wire is 1 meter long so really you could take a reading all the way up to a meter deep if you wanted.

AC Infinity uses the same blade style probe. It's wired and comes with a depth tube to go down up to 20". It will only work with their new AI controller though. I'm currently running that probe at 8" deep

Yes to 3 to 4 inches > I have my ecowitt probes hooked up to my iphone never miss a beat.
Christmas is coming so maybe. I don’t want wifi if I get a choice. Bluetooth would be great. Not sure if wired is practical.

not sure about apple versions but newest droid displays a double row, anything old shows single..

man coach got the plays dialed up tonight!!!!!!!!!!!! what a 3rd quarter!!!!!!!!!! 11 minutes left in the game now..

edit>> now 7:00 left.. 35 yrd run.. daaaaaamn!!! stompin a mud hole in their ass!!!!! don't give a fudge what their ranking is!!!!

.

i think maybe the weak point of waterproof is the rubber caps over the battery cover and led indicator cover. i bet with some quality electrical tape i could drop these things in my pond!!!! the seal between the plastic housing and probe part itself seems to be solid as can be. i've had these things completely drenched and soaked with my spray wand and sitting in full puddles of water with no issues at all. those rubber caps are very tight but i could see over time where they might loosen up or get roots growing into them so they can't list that they're waterproof but i bet they're pretty much waterproof..

i know yours has a higher IP rating than mine and i have a feeling it's the rubber caps...

i guess we couldn't use a gravity bong in space huh? ... "if you shot a ton of pot at the sun would it get everybody high?" ~ land of the lost. "do dinosaurs have boobs?" hahahahahaha

I have an ACI probe kinda deep with the top just below the surface. It's been in that plant since the plant was a baby.

IMG_9136[1].jpeg

I rarely use the app for it though. I kinda dislike the ACI app so I put the controller in a very user friendly spot where it's easier for me to touch the controller to light it up and read it there instead of opening the app.
I got the Ecowitt pretty much for the same reason, to read what it says at the device and not need to use my phone while probing spots and pots around the yard.

I just kinda figure these probes are supposed to get wet and be in some weather so I'm not too kind to it. I got two ACI just in case I ruined one but so far.... I've had it in cold and hot water. Coco in the bag and coco after rinsing. Before, during, and after floods. Got baseline #s on pretty much everything and used it to watch the slowing uptake in transition to the increase in uptake during swell and finally the slowed uptake during ripening for absolute dialed in moisture levels at every turn.
IMO they kinda hack the plant. They show the pattern and methodical routine and make it super freaking ez.

I've ordered the style you have too..A pair just in case I destroy one. Only $18 each right now during this sale.
I got them and the rain gauge but took slow shipping on everything for like almost $12 in prime digital credits. There will be a lot of crossover use between growing weed and the veggie garden using the ecowitt gear.
I'll likely bury the type you have in an earthbox or raised bed. Have some other ideas there too about that head and protecting it with maybe a TPU tube cap or snorkel like the ACI can use for deep probing. Hell, maybe even wrapping in a baggie and zip tying it closed would keep any moisture out of the battery compartment too. As long as that blade is exposed and it can still transmit, I'll try it all.

I rarely use the app for it though. I kinda dislike the ACI app so I put the controller in a very user friendly spot where it's easier for me to touch the controller to light it up and read it there instead of opening the app.

i'm kinda the opposite with mine.. a couple times i bumped the controller and changed things and had no idea what i was clicking. to this day i have no idea how to even operate the controller and have no clue as to what button does what.. i like the app control.

a little bit of a pain because i don't carry my phone around the house at all. i had my old tablet that i was leaving down there and it was working perfect till i screwed up the charging jack and now it doesn't work anymore!

i'm not much of a fan of the ecowitt app though, i rarely use it on my phone or tablet. i'm all about the web portal with that!! and if aci had a web portal they'd get more money from me!!!

I got the Ecowitt pretty much for the same reason, to read what it says at the device and not need to use my phone while probing spots and pots around the yard.

after seeing yours i'll probably pick up one of those wired with the screen built in. hey, what size battery do those use?

have a great weekend everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, I was wondering how reliable they are, I've got one of there setups in the mail

my 67 has never had an issue and is extremely reliable.

my 69 had a small issue three times. each time was the exact same. the controller itself never stopped functioning and the wifi connection was there and would show data perfect but it wouldn't let me change any settings via app at all and would just pop up and say connection error. then once i would unplug it all and plug it back in it would work fine. this happened three times. but to be fair it has been a pretty long time now since it happened so maybe it was fixed in a software update. but again the controller itself never really failed, just the ability to change a parameter remotely.

i do have a complaint about my remote outlet though, i'm pretty sure there is something wrong with mine but the warrantee is out..

one day i'm going to destroy this thing with a lot of fun!!!!!!!

it fails closed quite often and never turns the outlet off. the outlet just flashes ambulance lights until i unplug it and reset. i don't and won't use it anymore. i'm not the only one here with this same issue with this plug, others have never had a problem.

Thanks for that heads up buddy, I haven't looked at those other than I know of them.

Good info man!!!

no sensors at all, only temp and rh.. i only run the 69 pro and a 67 pro.. the 69 is in the black cabinet and the 67 is in the hydro cabinet. i only use both of them for fans and a humidifier.

Pretty much the same setup as far as controllers and use. Hooking up the light to the controller was a life saver. Hated the 25% steps.

I only use Bluetooth for a few reasons. The 67 I used manually a few times and to setup. But once I installed the app on the phone I never looked back.

Only issue I’ve had was after updating the app this summer. Now I get big gaps in data.

I don’t like it but I can live with it for now.

i haven't looked for anymore of the data drops at all, honestly i wouldn't even know what time to even start looking.. i pretty much only use mine as real time and whats going on at that moment, i rarely even go to the charts.

just recently i turned on the trigger alert for my heater just to keep an eye on how often it's running right now. i don't have notifications turned on or anything so it just keeps a count for me and i look at it when i want.
.

side beef.. if AI is so fuckin smart then how come it can't remember that i don't want it's help!!! seems to ask me every couple days!! no means no fucker!! hahaha

plants are all doing well... it's about time for another watering, the past two times they've gotten one gallon each and barely had any run off. in fact, only three had run off at a gallon. might go more this time, prolly dump a gallon then come back with another half on a second round. maybe even use some food.. i have not fed them once yet.

been meaning to make some tea... just got lazy! ecowitt says i need to water only two and the rest can wait a day. i'll try to give just them two some water to hold em over and get out my brewer and load it up!! it will prolly be a light feed though, some lobster and sugar most likely..

but remember last run when i said all i wanted was a good A to B run.. it wasn't but man this one sure has been!! easy, error free, and just fun!!

this tea brewer has got to be one of the coolest DIY's i've ever made!!!

That's super cool stoney.those vortex brewers are supposed to be the best.i have been wanting to make one for a couple years now.

It belongs on the "Oddly satisfying" sub on reddit.
It's a collection of videos of things like a field being perfectly mowed and stuff like that. Seeing that swirl and mixing gives that oddly satisfying vibe, being able to watch it and it kinda soothes the brain.
Plus, it's just a really baddass tea brewer ;rockb

How's the new furnace working out?
I figure Y'all must be ass deep in snow with your nuts so far up you call 'em chestnuts this time of year so that new furnace must be doing it's thing!

That's super cool stoney.those vortex brewers are supposed to be the best.i have been wanting to make one for a couple years now.

this is my version 2.0... the first one was a round trash can with a lid but the bottom wasn't conical like the water jug.. that conical bottom is the performer of the show right there!!!!!

if there is any tip i can gives it's use furniture grade pvc. the thin walls allows for more flow and you can get a four-way tee for the bottom. my version 1.0 used two 3-way tees and it was not as good.

i'll tell ya man i really needed the delorean on this one man!! to find a water jug that was round and didn't have a handle molded in the side.. man i hunted for years!!! found mine by helping clear out a relatives home that had passed away and it was in a junk pile just gleaming at me!!! it was meant to be!!

i made a really cool video of it a while back but for some reason it wouldn't post... here, i'll try again now.. i called it pour porn!!! hahaha

thats actually the bottom of the inside of the fitting your seeing in the center, it spins that good that it puts a channel of oxygen all the way down the jug...

.
.

so far so good on the furnace. i had to adjust the air intake and output a little because this new furnace as a more powerful fan in it. it was just some minor vent adjusting is all.

i had a problem with my flare connection on the copper line going in. it was older and brittle i think and i tried a few times before i just gave up and put a brand new piece on. besides a new furnace deserves a new copper line anyway...

this is my version 2.0... the first one was a round trash can with a lid but the bottom wasn't conical like the water jug.. that conical bottom is the performer of the show right there!!!!!

if there is any tip i can gives it's use furniture grade pvc. the thin walls allows for more flow and you can get a four-way tee for the bottom. my version 1.0 used two 3-way tees and it was not as good.

i'll tell ya man i really needed the delorean on this one man!! to find a water jug that was round and didn't have a handle molded in the side.. man i hunted for years!!! found mine by helping clear out a relatives home that had passed away and it was in a junk pile just gleaming at me!!! it was meant to be!!

i made a really cool video of it a while back but for some reason it wouldn't post... here, i'll try again now.. i called it pour porn!!! hahaha

.
.

so far so good on the furnace. i had to adjust the air intake and output a little because this new furnace as a more powerful fan in it. it was just some minor vent adjusting is all.

i had a problem with my flare connection on the copper line going in. it was older and brittle i think and i tried a few times before i just gave up and put a brand new piece on. besides a new furnace deserves a new copper line anyway...

What size pump are you using Stoney? I like to try to accomplish that Spyro mixing affect. The new pump I bought I thought was big enough but apparently it's not at 400 gpm?

Or is it placement of said pump?

it's actually just an air pump...

the air lines split and run p over the top of each tube on the sides then i have a fitting below the water level in the tubes and the air pressure sends the water up and out of the tube and through elbows on the inside to make it spin...

Everything I can look at helps...

Air was/is one of the considerations that I was considering haha.....

That's a cool deal. It's all new to me so forgive my stupidness.. . 😁

I really want to give this Humboldt secrets a good chance for me to see how it will work ina scheduled feeding scenario.

I know I want to keep it moving. Maybe I'll get a air pump and see what I can put, I may be restricted to what I can use in this particular reservoir......

Thanks man it did help trust me anything I can look at and refer to later is is helpful
