So many times I sit here and think, just add a heater when you guys have cold grows but it's more than that when temps are that low.
I can't get my room over 77 with a space heater on high and lights at near max power!
IDK how you guys do it without having a fireplace in the grow space. IDK what to do with a cold grow room. It's...unnatural

so far we're doing really well up here. snow storm moved out last night and now it's just gonna be frigid cold for a week. you learn to deal with it man. make it work for you instead of against you. the very same way you do with the heat... if we switched houses right now we both be in panic mode in the gardens!!!

one thing i am proud of is since changing my venting around i am not using a single heater right now or this whole winter yet. i have a small heat mat and my aquarium heater and no air heater and also not letting any heat from the lights escape, every watt i'm using is now lighting the plants and adding a tiny bit of heat to the house. so tiny its unmeasurable proly, but it's still better than negative!!

i'm gonna take my extra heater down to my neighbors house tonight. the warehouse to get their furnace part was closed today. i bet they're so worried and not even enjoying the trip at all. i told them don't worry their plants are safe with me!!!!!! it's really all they really care about at this point, their son put antifreeze down the pipes so its all about the plants. can't smoke theirs though.. hahaha

People plant them in the ground here and they die back in Winter, I think around 40 degrees. Some come back and some don't.

i'm pretty sure man, she has four of them. she's had them for years and she has one for each of her sons when they get houses big enough to have them. so she feels xtra responsible for the plants because they're for their three sons. they're a super kind family and i don't mind helping one bit.

breaker went out the other day and dropped to 61, the breaker wouldn't reset, it was cooked so thankfully i had one on my shelf so in like ten minutes we were back up and running. cruzin at 67° in there and it;s 13 outside right now... i'm actually impressed with how well those little heater are holding it.

it's possible the part for the furnace comes tonight so they may fix it tomorrow. they come home tomorrow night so either way i'm off watch duty after tomorrow!!!

That does have to be one of the healthiest banana I've ever seen. Lush AF!
Most around here get beat down by the weather but the best are kept in pots. Our favorite TexMex restaurant has a ton of those and other tropic plants so going in it's like trying to go into a jungle space more than a restaurant.

I can't say cold will much of a problem around here much more. We'll be back in the 70s next week.
Workload got heavier this week and in a few weeks I'll be back to 7 day work weeks and combined with good weather, I just start falling behind on all the fun garden stuff and hobbies I wanna do.

I'm just now getting my pool sheet finished and starting to think about fantasy. I don't think we can make picks for it yet.
It's Daytona so I'll probably go heavy on Ford since they seem to have the best team strategy in the draft.
Byron is an ez choice but dang a 3peat? It's possible. But it's possible he could end up on his roof too! He's done that before at Daytona and I have the diecast to prove it!
COTA is coming up fast AF too and I gotta get squared away on that...My Cup tix should come thru Fan Rewards...I'm guessing they'll just be general admission. I've been holding out on the Saturday tix though and playing the long game on this so I can maybe also get into the garage.
COTA guy has called, emailed, and texted a few times regarding renewals and I've been ghosting him to push it closer to the deadline. Gonna see if I can maybe wait it out and get a personalized deal over the phone for a garage pass and not go thru ticketmaster and pay the full price. The $600 pass there is for 8 people. We'll just be two people so I wanna pay a two person price!
Not my first rodeo with these things so I'm hoping I can wait and get in at a discount because for them, any money is better than no money.

Man I didn't even know wheel of fortune was still on! And still, with those same two people! Like WTF? That shit was on when I was a kid and now I'm an old fuck and it's still on?

I'm also gonna look up minimum donations to NASCAR foundation and see if something like a monthly $5 donation will get me 63 points a month.

IDK how this is gonna happen this weekend? I guess maybe get those sled dogs from Alaska to come pull the cars around the track??

wow man the saga continues.. they told me this morning that the furnace part wont get put in till monday!! they'll get home around 11 tonight.. i'll stop by and leave their light on, the motion light burned out a couple months ago and he never changed it. haha

she has the other three of those plants in a room just next to hers.. i am so careful going in there and sneaking through the leaves to feel the plugs on the outlets to make sure they're not warm.. i feel like i'm in a laser obstacle course in there!!! hahaha

thats for a customer so i'm getting paid to do it.. they asked me a few months ago to hang a shelf in their garage, i said sure. what color? they said no color, just plain wood. no protectant.. i said okay. how high? he said this high and pointed to the wall, i said okay! a month later he pays me to take it back down and then stain it and put it back up!!!! hahaha

I think they did the best of everybody really. Kubiak is a long time football guy, born into this game.

Sent my pool after some waffling on a few picks...I'm going with Bowman and the 48 for Daytona.
Fun season to pick though because I think we're really looking for best 2nd place finishers this season. Just have a feeling this will be the Hamlin and Larson show with so many young guys and a few not quite there yet superstars in the making. I think Brisky gets his first RC win this season too. I got him for at least two wins but Larson and Hamlin will prolly get like 5-7 each.


Kinda like Wednesday being the start for the Clash now..Midweek racing then we watch DJ's Seahags get redemption on the pats and finally it's time to go racing again!!!

I know Clint from his time at A&M. You know him too but have likely purged all memory of this era...He's Gary's kid. Gary Kubiak of the Broncos and same Kubiak who coached up Elway, was kinda the bridge between the Reeves era and Shanahan era in Denver.
Offensive guru family who's coached at all levels with success.
His dad got the job in Houston a while back but it ended badly as they always do. Most of these guys get carried out in body bags after a season or two but I doubt that happens here with Vegas. This has to be at least a 3 year plan for some stability

do you have idiots up there like we do here where every single first snow storm they forget how to drive? theres a horse fence at the bottom of the hill here at the very first corner, every first snow it seems somebody crashes right through the fence!!!

i filed my warrantee claim today finally on my puffco black xl chamber... those after market ones are working great but one downside, they eat up battery power faster than the puffco brand.

got soil for the next round today.. i had three bags left over and just got another four so i'll have extra for the round after next.

old bag versus new bag... maybe fresh batch.. maybe all new shitty product.. we will see!!!!




also still have two bags of the good stuff collecting dirt under my fuel tanks.. like buried gold baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!



and today my neighbors gave me a bag of coffee beans all the way from puerto rico!!!!!!!



i still have NOT harvested yet... beating a dead horse here but "soon"!!!!!! hahahaha yeah about as soon as i stop seeing so many clear trichomes!!!! haha

Both were new bags , I'll have to look at the three in the shop.
Had a small bag of seed starter [COM] delivered also.
I held off on compost figuring that will be in a month or so.

Yes, but now it’s EVERY snow storm. A lot of new Canadians haven’t driven in snow and think that 4WD and snow tires means you can still get away with being an idiot on the road.

We get about one bad accident a month at our intersection, rain or shine. Most are from people making a last minute unsafe lain change to avoid getting stuck behind a car/truck waiting to make a left hand turn.

i think this last time i got them they were new bag art then too... it wasn't all that long ago.

i just need to pick up some nematodes yet and i'm done. so this last time when i upcanned all the nine plants i used up the last of my nematoes. i dumped heavy as there was only a little bit left in the jar so i just dumped the rest out n those. then a few days later i needed to upcan that tenth plant for my neighbor. and i had no more nematodes left.. well man that one plant was infested in that tent. my cabinet with the nematodes had a handful of gnats at most. and the doors were cracked open this entire grow.

yes sir i have! i have some coils that are hotter and some that colder than the standard so if you play around you can get one at almost any temp you want.

those are for the OG peak though, i now use the peak pro. different animals completely.

the cool thing about the OG's are you can use other cups than ceramic. with the pro you're stuck with what they give ya but the smaller ones can be interchanged to quartz or si.. there were a handful of different materials you could get for those. the pro has one, ceramic.[/url]
