Hey Everybody!!!

i'm back with my third hydro screened sea of green. got some upgrades and changes since the last round and been testing them so this will be a flower journal since most of the vegging is done at this point. so fire up your favorite smokin device and i'll give the details..

The genetics: Sun of a Peach ...seeds were bought here at Bud Builders from our approved vendor B2ACG. these are clones of plants i currently have in flower.

The lights: California Light Works solarsystem 550 gen1 x(2) of them.

011.JPG013.JPG

The system: a DIY 28 gallon fallponics RDWC setup with two(2) eight gallon plant sites including a chiller, alita air pump, DC adjustable water circulation pump, top off barrel, and other supporting devices for automation.

The Nutrients: GH micro, and GH Bloom also known as Lucas Formula. also added is Hygrozyme. my water is deep well from a country mountain side and contains lots of iron and calcium. i mix my tap water 50/50 with caught and filtered rain water. i may dabble with some other goodies i have but for now so far it's just been these three bottles and my 50/50 water.

014.JPG

The growspace: a 4 x 4 wooden cabinet with a carbon scrubber and clip fans along other goodies such as remote control light winches, power SCROG table.

The Style: this will be a SCReen Of Green and the screen will soon be lowered in the next week or so and this journal will focus on the screen and technique. each plant got started by topping after node four and then again topping those two last shoots after node two. these were clones so the second set of nodes were staggered, in this case i topped after node four of the second set. fem seeds would not be staggered at this point. if that makes sense.

okay enough of the talking time to see some photos!!!!!!!!!!

controls and rez on the outside..

The Plants... Sun of a Peach clones nearing the end of week five of veg. PPM's around 700. ph 5.8

008.JPG009.JPG012.JPG010.JPG

this is how the look as of today and i will journal them from here and hopefully have greasy sticky nugs to show at the end!!!!

Thanks for checking it out and hope everybody has a great 4th of July!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i mounted the controller and power for those screen actuators. another few inches and the plants will be too tall to put the screen on safely so i will be flipping soon. i have about 8 gallons of top off left and i want to have the screen in place and a change out done by time that 8 gallons is gone.

001.JPG002.JPG

it works great, i can suspend the screen just where i want while i tuck the branches under the wires and then once i have them in place i can hit the button for another inch or so and then stop again to readjust. that frst time i snapped a branch not having it ready before the weight of the screen dropped on it. now i can defy gravity with the screen till i'm ready!!!

plants are ready for sure.. i think it's safe to say with this new setup my hydro woes are a thing of the past...

003.JPG

i'll have to do some more trimming underneath for sure.. maybe even cut a node or two completely off.. but the are much cleaner underneath than my past attempts...

009.JPG
and the roots are still nice and white and smell great!!!!

007.JPG

couple more days though guys and we're flipping these pigs!!!!!! the new bluelabs guardian shows everything has been pretty steady eddie. they're thriving and the time is now.. no complaints at all!!

enjoy the rest your weekend everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

;lar

Love dwc.. its my favorite way to grow.. I have total control of everything..

i am really enjoying it a lot. i haven't really said this out loud yet but with the price of soil i think my current soil run will be my last for a little while... indoors at least.

i really enjoy the ease of the hydro, with soil ya gotta lift it all the time and always carry the water and just a lot of manual labor before, during, and after . my dwc is hardly any work at all to turn valves and hit buttons.

i look forward to continuing with this setup and possible even expanding in the future.

congrats to the 19 team today!!!!

Here we go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

tonight was flip time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! screen was lowered and lights are set!!!!!!!!

.

my screen is a wooden frame with electric fence wire stapled to it. the wire is nylon woven with stainless strands. durable yet very strong. it measures 45" x 38" and the openings are approximate 4" x 4"..

003.JPG

when i was drilling the holes for the actuators to go in i had to loosen a couple wires so before i set it in place i hit each wire with my air stapler...

004.JPG

i tried to shoot a video of me tucking the branches and using the remote but the camera fell.. but you guys get the idea from the short vid..

once it was done it looks like this... they ain't very happy and this should cause some stress on them. i want them to know something tragic has happened and they now need to grow differently to survive. they look ugly now but they'll love me later!!

never weave, just keep tucking...

008.JPG009.JPG

i'll clean up the bottoms later once the dust settles....

011.JPG

the timer has been adjusted to 12/12, my calendar has been reset to week 1 day 1, and the spectrum has been adjusted to red white and half blue. once i'm in flower and have pistils i will reduce the blue spectrum even more.
and since i needed my air compressor down there for the stapler i used my air gun to blow all the dust and spider legs out!!!! works awesome for getting behind the plants and pipes! also blew out the vents on my chiller and lights, fans, and carbon filter.

012.JPG014.JPG

so Sun of a Peach we are set!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a little style for the screen...

015.JPG016.JPG

i got more... i got tired of peeling them though!!! hahahaha

017.JPG

have a great week everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

day one, 24 hours after the screen squash and i went back in and readjusted all the tops near the edges. if a branch was obvious where it should come through i lined it up, if not i left it to the side to be adjusted later. most if not all edges are filled already..

2030.JPG

day 2 of flower and after 48 hours they are starting to shake it off and starting to emerge through the screen. a small clip fan helps here a little, gets them dancing a little and helps them find their way up....

035.JPG

and now we're at day three and they pretty much forgot all about getting punched in the face... most primary branches are poking through and just some opening in the center to get filled yet.

001.JPG

so far they seem right on track and started drinking normal again. i've added more power to the lights and now around 50% power, i'll keep adding more each week. tomorrow night is change out time.. i will switch to bloom and go by the chart..

006.JPG007.JPG

i'll put up an update in a few days again... i'll be putting a trellis net in about eight inches above the screen just to provide support for the buds and help separate and organize them a little better.
until then i hope everybody has a great week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

003.JPG

Looking really good boss. @CannaGranny would approve I think. 👊

I think she would be happy with this one..

i went underneath and tried to trim anything unwanted and also found like twenty tops that were smooshed in the leaves and never made it up, broke a few trying but still ended up with more than a dozen nice tops through the screen, really helped me with the bald spots.. it ruffled their feathers a bit but they'll get over it.

003.JPG

004.JPG

i also did a change out and started the bloom nutes transition. 6ml of micro and 12ml of bloom. i used all tap water this time as i wanted the extra calcium and my tap has better buffer than the 50/50 rain water.. bumped em up another hundred PPM...

005.JPG

they should be good to go till next weekend.

Showed these gals no mercy! Almost like they enjoy being dominated or something ;slap

Also I just want to explicitly state that I am not gay, but nice forearm tease there @Stoneyluv . You must gym quite a bit, or you spend a lot of time...doing self care lol

View attachment 132563

no sir, never stepped foot in a gym.. although i did once say i was thinking of changing the name of my bathroom from the John to the Jim.. then i could say i went to the jim (gym) every day!!! hahahaha

.

so a quick back story, this my third hydro grow and the first two didn't go so well. i had a DIY setup in two round buckets and must have had some design flaws combined with some weird sealant issue. my water chemistry was a complete disaster and the buckets seems to cause my roots to swirl and braid tight later causing root rot. i was a hot mess. so with that in mind i never really concentrated on the SCROG part of it as much as i should have and didn't quit learn some of the things i should have the first two times. already less than a week into my flip i already know three core things i want to change for next time.

but now i have two new plant sites and a new tote for a rez and so far we're still growing upwards with none of the freaky issues i had before. now that i don't need to concentrate on the hydro side i can put more effort into the SCROG itself.

this is now just before lights on..
010.JPG

011.JPG

i still have that one bald spot.. it's cuz i broke a decent size branch off in the crush. one of the things i would like to change next is a better defol. next time i will strip the bottom 1/3 clean. then remove every sigle fan in the middle third of the plants and leave the top third alone. this should help reduce the issue of branches getting smooshed in between the leaves. another change i'm going to make is i'm not going to flip the same day as the crush. i would like to wait until hey look like now when i flip next time. the third thing i learned was to maybe do most of the branch adjusting from underneath. i tend to break and kink them more from up top.

but still no issues yet. the ppm's have climbed a bit since the change out recently.. drinking more than they're eating it seems, maybe i should go back a step on the next change out. this started at 850ppm..

012.JPG

after recently seeing Bandits "limestone rings" on his rez it made me think of my top off barrel. when they're drinking a bunch it sips it from the barrel faster than the walls of the barrel dry up. it used to be at like an 1/8 inch and now that wet line is over an inch!!

008.JPG

but so far they're doing fine and and i see no burning or anything just the ppm rise is all but they seem to be growing fast and should enter flowering on an upbeat! most of me is ignoring the number on the screen and still shoveling in the coal!!!!! i wonder if maybe this has anything to do with me going all tap water this time? this was the first time this round that i've done that. i've been going with tap/rain water at 60/40 - 50/50 - 40/60 but this is the first time i went 100/0.. maybe next change out i go back to 60/40 and keep shoveling the coal and see what happens.. just maybe that increase is the stuff in my water they really don't need or want.

Thanks for checking it out!!!!!!

Lots and lots of self care...got it! ㊙️

I'm pretty sure they're getting to the point where calcium demand starts to fall off so less tap water might keep it a bit more stable.

ahhh yes, you told me about this before.. i'm going to dilute some of it down later and do change out in couple days. it's still climbing today and now starting to affect the ph so i'm going to water it down for a couple days until i can get in a change out.. i'll leave the top off where it is and see how they like that for now.

i use hand tools everyday so that helps with the exercise i guess. broke my left wrist a few times in life so i have a little bit of flexibility issues on that side. ya know all three times i broke it was on a fourwheeler.. fuckin kids man!!! hahahaha

.

i'm sure hoping so man, fingers crossed!!!! i'm looking for just a little more vertical stretch and i'll be happy!! i forgot to mention it but a few days ago i added back in that blue to the spectrum of the lights.. currently now running 60R-60W-60B

Y'all are measuring stuff?;gr

You know how I can tell this is a peach strain grow without you telling me it's a peach strain grow?

The pics are fuzzy ;hookah

sun of a.... haha ba dump bump, phhhhs!!! haha

man i gotta tell ya i feel like a king having what feels like an unlimited supply sport towels now thanks to you.. in this heat they're a great thing to have!!!!!!!!!

I agree 100%. Hospital stopped using these a while ago. Switched to something else. So I use them now. Great for cleanups or hot days. IMG_1346.jpeg

Man I'm sorry and I mean no offense.. but no damn way and I using hand-me-down hospital rags to wipe anywhere near my face. I'm sure they're clean and fine and all that, but nah. Not for me. Those wiped someone's ass or cleaned up some projectile vomit or explosive diarrhea...

That's awesome man.
I found myself using a bunch of my towels this week and I just take it for granted how it's just nice to have a bunch of towels that size and enough of them the ladies don't gate-keep the dang things!!!

Haha I have a stack exactly like that I'm phasing out as they wear out and get replaced.
I like when they get all abrasive like that because they're great for scrubbing. Cleaned up the algae and nute stains well for me

Haha man I'm sure hospitals have it even better but in that world we have way different soaps than residential and water injected with ozone.
Machines with heat and all that stuff so it gets sterilized.
I used it on Stoneys towels and he can verify so like even though they were used by a womens beach v-ball tourney before he got them, they don't smell like sandy cooter at all.

Bleach man!!!!!!!! hahahaha

so last night i was watching the new episode of 120 hours behind bars on the discovery channel. and these prisoners would put bleach in the toilet and and wash their clothes and bodies out of it!!! the fucking toilet!!!!!!!!!!!!
the dude is like bleach kills 99.9% germs.. yeah, but what about that 0.01%?

when i use the towels i try to forget that some college volleyball player wiped their boob or ball sweat off with it before i used it!!!!! hahahahaha they smell clean... haha

.

my PPM's were still on the rise yesterday, by time the lights came on it was up to 1010 ppm. so i pumped out 15 gallons from the rez and replaced it with solution the exact same strength nutes and just used rain water this time. after 24 hours of mixing and growing the ppms are now right at 790.

so i'm still shoveling in the coal, just with a different shovel now. i still plan to do an on scheduled full change out this weekend. i'll most likely go 50/50 tap to rain and bump up the nutes to the next stage. should put me in the 900 ppm range. i think full strength is 1080 with Lucas formula.

also last night i matched the same water chemistry in the top off barrel since that was also 100% tap. there is like eight gallons in there now, this should get me to the weekend.

.

and one other change i made on the fly, i switched my lights to the gen 2 lights that i had in the soil side. i harvested all those so i took the lights that i feel are better.

cleaned up the best i could..

011.JPG

also added a new mount for my live cam.. it's an old leg from a tripod... super easy to adjust up and down now!!!!!!!!

013.JPG

and now we get to see the SVG sticker again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is gotta make em grow faster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

014.JPG

thanks for lookin in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they smell like a fresh spring douche!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahahaha they fully smell commercially cleaned!!! like a hotel!! i really like the fact of the size... way better than any hand or face towel i can buy!!!!

the official horn towels that snuck in there are a little smaller.. they remind me more of a football players towel with the size, not as soft either..

016.JPG

i feel blessed having them though where i can just grab one and not have to worry about if i have another clean one left!!!
