What causes cupping like this?

Hey guys just opened my tent for the first time in the 3 days and notice I have some cupping

Wondering what causes this
Tent ranges between 79-82
Humidity is at set for 69 but drops to 64 when exhaust comes on
Light is on the lowest setting

I'd immediately start looking closely for pests. My first reaction is new growth looks worse.

What are you growing?

Looks like soil? Watering practices? Still on Veg timing assuming they are photos?

I’m bottom watering for now till they get bigger.
Soil grow in a mixture of 1/3 FFOF 1/3 coast of main and 1/3 perlite
I water when they get droopy like in the picture

Still in veg for a while longer
Water has full feeding of MaxiGrow mixed in (2 tsp per gallon)

Light is on its lowest setting, dosent mean it’s not to harsh just don’t know what I could do about that this has actually only started since I introduced the inline exhaust and tried to tighten up my environmental parameters

Why do you bottom feed ? I’m asking just cuz I don’t understand the value ? I like my roots in the bottom to be oxygen accessible ? But I may be all wet. Lol sorry I’m ripped - seriously though what are the advantages ?

I bottom feed just cause if I let them sit for 10 min in there I know there are no dry spots or tailing through the medium. I’m mildly retarded so this could be dumb.
They’re manageable right now to do it but when they go into their final bags and are bigger obviously I’ll top water….. and don’t some big operations run flood tables for easier more consistent watering??? That’s actually a question I thought I read that but again I have no idea

If you have russet mites, a loupe might not be powerful enough to see them, they are very small. You can try pulling one of those upper fans that is affected and look at the petiole near where it attaches to the stem with your loupe. Also, look at the underside of the fans near the center where the leaflets come together and the underside of the leaves in general.

I'm not an expert on this topic but this is what I recall from another member who got these dirty buggars. Hope that it's not what your problem is!

Problem is this is a reaction that could be due to one or more issues underwatering was mentioned but overwater can produce similar results , underwatering I would expect a more droopy looking plant

Personally I don’t like the bottom feed as my opinion I get better or more even watering from the top , flooding or watering to say 15% runoff or even more the drain it away just My experience doesn’t mean it’s right or wrong

Id find a 100x loupe or kids microscope and look for russet mites for sure. Could be other things, but I'd want to rule that out first before anything.

Tent is a 5 x 5 and the light is high probably close to 4’ above the girls

I have a 60x loop and I’ll see what I can see, boy will I be bummed if it’s mites, everything is brand new in there so they’d have to be in the dirt I bought

If not peats im thinking a very dry environment with to much aor flow on the plants but mites seem the most likely

I hate to agree with everyone else but if it is not light and the leaves are not burning up then it does look like RM.
I have never had them but a couple of the guys who responded have.
My understanding is they are very difficult to see even with good magnification and even harder to treat.

Treatment for young plants with hemp russet mites is basically cutting them at the base of the stem and putting them into a bonfire imho. Unless you are ok treating with something through flower.
Not even commercial miticides wipe them out, you can only control populations. As soon as you stop the control measures, they go berserk again.

Makes sense to get the fan off them and correct what they can. But given those signs I would be scoping hard to rule out russets before I invested a whole lot more time and nutrients on them.

I gotta agree with Mosh on watering. It looks like root problems to me-maybe root rot or root aphids..
