The Newbie goes indoors

Agreed but before you lower the net, clean up all the suckers underneath now that you still have access.
So I did some trimming but what are we calling “suckers” and what should be cleaned out??

Update:
Been awhile, trying to get the Mg deficiency under control. New growth is finally looking better but old growth looks like shit. From my understanding what damage was done is done and those leaves won’t change back?🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

The steams are all showing a lot of purple, what is this indicative of? Should I be adjusting something?

I cleaned a bunch out yesterday and am prepared to lower SCROG now that the new growth is looking healthier. I didn’t to a great before/after picture of my trimming but the first pic you can see the back plant hasn’t been trimmed yet and in the next she has been.

I split a girl yesterday on accident while trimming and tucking (I never seem to learn) but got her taped up so hopefully she’s fine.

Should I get the light closer to them or keep it where it’s at??

I know I need to get the recovered before flipping just wondering how much bigger to let them get?

Hey y’all be awhile so I thought I’d update

I dropped the SCROG probably 10 days ago and have been cleaning a few branches and leaves at every watering as well as tucking once they get 4-5” above the net.
They aren’t the prettiest but I’m learning and look forward to implementing what I’ve learned this far in my next grow.
They definitely don’t grow inside like they do with that sun!
Do you guys think I should flip them soon?
Still trying to beat that Mg deficiency, should I be giving epsom at every watering?

Yes on flip whenever you want and Mg every water till you see you are ok.
It is very hard to overdose Mg.
Just Mg though not cal with it. Cal is easily overdosed and when it is it often causes lock outs.
That net is going to fill in like crazy when you flip and the plant stretches.

Ok, great! Thanks!!

Just updating so can keep track of dates
Flipped the night of Friday February 9th
Everything has turned up in the last couple days after the last tuck and clean up. Probably won’t clean them up again for 3 weeks (March 1st’ish)

hey yeah update, First week stretch in the bag! After the picture’s I decided to raise the SCROG probably 2 inches. Tops are looking pretty level, couple branches out growing everyone else but 🤷🏼‍♂. Getting ready to head on vacation for a week. Be intruding how much they grow in a week.

Enjoy your vacation man~!

Update:
We just finished second week into flower.
I wasn’t able to get pictures on Friday or this weekend cause we just got back from our trip but holy cow 🐄 have these girls changed in a week!
It’s amazing the rate of stretch almost a little worried I’ll run out of hight. Fed and watered everyone just now.
We had an amazing time in Aruba and highly recommend that place if y’all ever have a chance ❤️
Sucks being back! Lol G$ know and Steam know NY 🤣 brutal…
Anyways off to have my hernia repaired. Look forward to reading the 7 pages I’m behind on the corner in the next couple days (been saving it).

Update:

Just finished 3 weeks of 12/12 on Friday. Still running 60%RH and bumped my temps down to 78 degree target. At week 5 I’ll drop to in the 40% range RH (that’s what my basement is) and probably turn off my supplemental heat so she’ll probably the tent will probably start see temps in high 60’s.

For the first three weeks during feeding I’ve been giving just MaxiGrow to carry more nitrogen (I ran out way early in outdoor grow) and plan to do half MaxiGrow and MaxiBloom for the next two feedings which should take me to 4-1/2 weeks and then I’ll run just MaxiBloom from then out till week 7 when I’ll cut out nutrients all together. IF YOU SEE A FLAW HERE POINT IT OUT AS I NEED THE HELP 🤣🤣
I’ve been giving epsom salt at every other feeding at a ratio of 1TBLSP to 1 Gal for 4 out of 8 gals of water I use. The other 4 gallons have been getting 1tsp of CalMag to 1gal of water.

I’m running a big fan under the girls blowing down at the floor (heat blowing into that air) and just added a 6” AC Infinity oscillating fan above…YOU THINK THATS ENOUGH AIR MOVEMENT??

I plan on doing a big defoliation tomorrow and will post pictures after…I’m also gonna start another thread today about how to defoliate a SCROG (hope to get CG invoked) so I get a better understanding of what i need to do.

Anyways thanks for checking in!

Update y’all:

Just finishing week 4 of 12/12. Girls seem happy. Two days ago I noticed their smell in the basement which isn’t normal and upon investigation I found my humidity had jacked with the warm outside temp I was seeing 67-70% humidity. I got the basement dehumidifier running and now have my basement down to 45.5%Rh.
I dropped tent temps to 75 degrees so it should swing between 73-77. Just completed my last half MaxiBloom and MaxiGrow feeding so next feeding should be all MaxiBloom with Mg.

Seems like a decent amount of trichomes so far for where I’m at in flower, hopefully 🤞they put some more on.

I did notice some of my pistils changing, seems early🤔🤔? Possible problem?

Anyways thanks for checking in.

Should be finishing 5 today since the 12/12 switch
Fed today for the first time all MaxiBloom.
Running 75 degrees F and 55% RH.
I’m not overly happy with the stacking this week, not sure what I can really do to improve that🤔🤷🏼‍♂️
Interesting seeing the difference in the 3 girls. The one that’s front left most her pistols are shriveling and ambering out while the other two are mostly white still…

The folds in your tent make good reference points.
You have good growth and filling out just since last week.
It is visible in the pics.
NICE~!

Did the horizontal bars come with the tent or did you have to buy them separately?

Cool! I didn't have a conduit bender so I attached some 1/2" PEX clips to the ends of the bars to clip onto the corner uprights. I see you used rope ratchets to hold yours up.
Yup! Everywhere one is pulling up one is also pulling down so I can adjust at anytime to any hight.
My hope is after chop I can take one side up drop the other and continue around making a full 180 flip and use the SCROG to hang them upside down🤷🏼‍♂️

Short update:
Tomorrow is the end of week 6.
Went in the tent today to feed and most my tops had fallen over🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ Should of got second screen on a lot sooner.

Installed second screen and tried to move everything around to lift and creat air flow without destroying anything but these girls are so tacky that was a pain in the ass. Hopefully I didn’t ruin all my trichomes in the process, I’m a mess!!

Got a third fan running now and took away the supplemental heat so temps should be dropping into upper 60’s, dropped my exhaust to trigger at an RH of 48 so hopefully that’ll take care of any WPM or Bud rot. Hopefully only two more weeks.

Got a small issue going with edges burning and tips as well. Thinking maybe my feed is hot, but I guess could just as easily be not enough???? Feeding 2 teaspoons of MaxiBloom per gallon of water every other watering (which should be max) got another week of feeding then I’ll flush till the end….

Thoughts??

Man they are looking killer for your first indoor!

I'd say your feed is a little hot indeed, I would start tapering back on nutes now and maybe go with 1.5 teaspoons per gallon. Then down to 1 tsp in 7 days and finish out with 1 or like .7 tsp per gallon.
