Besides growing balls early on, it looks good, smells just like the parent. I used the non herming 7/8 pollen to make seeds on the bottom. But Idk when I'll get a chance to try them.

My new 250w mh arrived today, and it's even better than I thought. Instead of the 4000k I expected, they sent the 6500K that I was most likely gonna buy anyways. $90 on Amazon.

The two year old pollen looks like it made a few seeds, but it might be loose pollen from Pink Runtz. I won't know until I grow both, then it should be easy to tell the pink Runtz from the stinky pinky-so stay tuned for more scientific experiment in pollen chucking.

Not this one, but they do have a vented hood option. That would be defeating the purpose for me, since it would block UV. This is a great $90 supplemental light for anyone who needs more heat in the winter. Plus, I'll be shocked if it doesn't improve the taste. I'm running a clone now to compare.

Ive been thinking about picking up HID/MH bulbs and a fixture, and running them in the winter. Gets cold in my room fast and heating it is a real bitch.
650+/- watts of led in a 4x4, and cant get over 75 on 100%

I read somewhere that an MH main product is heat, and light is just a by product. Whatever it is plants love it, and its almost impossible to have too much.

I'm still not sure whats up with the pink runtz; the clones took forever to root, started flowering, now looks like it's trying to reveg. WTF is going on here? Is there such thing as a SEMI AUTO?

There are what is called Fast Photos. I think that is what they are called.
They are unreliably halfway in-between autos and photos.
I grew one fast outdoors 2 years ago and it started to flower on June 21.
Not hard to remember when a "fast photo" starts flowering on the longest day of the year~!

Pipecarver revegged an auto. I think he started that when we all joined here.

This is just weird; the mama buds are pencil dicks. Maybe because it wants to flower under 18 hours? idk, maybe it was just the incredible bad weather and it's really photo? I'm gonna try to keep it alive until I taste the bud-it looks good, just small.

So in less than a month, the new MH quit working. It tries to light, then shuts off after 30 seconds. Will call HTG supply tomorrow and see what they say.

Bulbs require a high current start to form the arc then it tapers off. Electronic ballasts can fail to switch.

If matched properly it’s most likely the capacitor. @Pipecarver had to replace one a bit ago. But yeah they should warranty tgat.

No, but I'm pretty sure the bulb is not the problem. Maybe some HID guys know.

It could be the bulb, I had a mix with bulbs up and thought I'd blown another ballast because I've not seen an hps lamp go out like that. I switched ballasts still nothing, I changed the socket, still nothing. I put in another bulb and lights action.

I've had to replace 2 of 3 parts to the old mechanical ballasts a few times. I went back to the old mechanical after blowing 2 electronic in 4 years, other than noise and heat...that I like..... I rather have the old for their longevity & how cheap the kits are over the new crappy electronic hps ballasts

I meant capacitor.

It may half fire if capacitor is gone...or be swollen....like an old milk carton the capacitor will swell like that and bulge its seams out. I think if the starter is fried the light is just out......careful with the capacitor...short it out ...not you....its still live even after disconnecting.

I just called HTG and a real person answered on the second ring. Within 3 minutes I have a new light on the way. The guy didn't know if it's the light or ballast. He said I should have a new set in 3-4 days and a lablel to send the broken one back.
AC infinity did the same on an almost 2 year old light- not sure how long the htg warranty is.
