I wonder if letting them grow into the light [ to an extent, not crazy like] would help mitigate the stretch.
There are articles on it.
They look great man~!

Much closer than the 24" starts to bleach 'em.
They're stacking a lot better this time around.

When I flipped to flower, I always increased ppfd and did not notice too much stretching.

I'm conflicted on when to defoliate...
We're at day 16 I believe.

If I'm going off of growth... they ain't done. I measure every morning and raise the light accordingly. Yesterday the tallest colas put on 6 inches...


If I'm going off bud production... it's time or even a little too late. They've started to build and there is a ton of little cotton-tops that I don't want robbing nutes and energy from the others.


Little early if we're looking for 3 weeks, little late if we wanna get it before the buds build...

Personally, I would be "skirting" them, removing the bottom growth, removing those fans that are blocking other budsites.

Removing the bottom 1/3 or 1/4 and then some more the next few days, not doing too much at once.

Rh control, and blocking any budsites, removing lower growth to prevent "larf" or "popcorn" nugs.

Or just fuckin send it, remove everything that is not a bud, it'll stress them the fuck out for a second but if everything is right and they aren't fuck-ass genetics, all the energy will shift/focus to the bud development.

Ppfd is pretty broad. The light has a 4x4 footprint and the center colas are getting hammered. Around the edges ranges from 800-1000 going up to 1200 towards the center, but the taller ones right in the middle are seeing 1600.
*according to my photone app with proper filter.

EC is right at 1. 500 on the 500 scale. It's being topped up with 650ppm. The top-off has a boost in PK to slowly bring it up in the plant-sites.

Based off the tips, probably right around 1.6 is a good E.C rn

I suspect once they really start eating & developing can maybe push that.

Yep this was a transition res with a boosted top-off. Once they've drank all of this, I'll do a full changeout to a higher EC.

I prefer to prune leaves that block bud sites and minimally after that for air flow.
They are the solar panels that make your light the most useful.
I understand removing the bottoms if they have not grown equal to others.
But without leaves there is no bank if you are not on point with feedings.
This from Bruce Bugbee on removing leaves during flowering;

I recommend minimal pruning. Unless it is necessary to improve airflow in the bottom of the canopy. But getting more fans is better than pruning. We do prune the shoot tip meristem in the early flowering stages to improve branching. But we do not remove the lower leaves, which contribute photosynthates and remobilize nutrients until harvest.

I have many times watched my plants feed off lower leaves when I have missed proper feeding somehow.
I have only seen a few good growers use schwazing and still have a great looking finished product.
I love to stress the plant, but I would never strip a plant and not expect something to bite me.
