Well this in my second grow, other grow diary was on the “other site”.
Currently I’m an outdoor guy in hopes to become an indoor/outdoor in the year of 2023 (I got the tent and exhaust just saving for a light (it’s a 5 x 5 so the light is expensive))
Last year I had for girls
2…Trainwreck
1…Green Crack
1…Grandaddy Purple
I fought bugs, deficiencies, bud rot and WPM
They where in 25gal pots full of FFOF. I didn’t start feeding them till they where in flower and had to play catch-up on that. Towards the last two weeks they got daily treatments of Hydrogen Peroxide and water and blowout everyday. In the end after throwing a bunch away from But rot and WPM I had 7lbs of clean, safe bud and trim.85F1AB72-9899-4E38-B09E-1F9F942323B6.jpeg79CC7E3F-6D1B-4B08-85CB-3E9CA9523507.jpeg396A6892-6A14-4CDF-908F-82D18F5E1394.jpeg0EAB18EE-CE43-4355-8B3A-30BEC568AFC9.jpeg

THIS YEAR I decided to only do two girls during the summer in hopes to be up and running in the house by fall with a few more.
I started seeds mid April and promptly killed them🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️
So I got a second batch going towards April 23.
I have One Purple Punch Cookie and One Frosted Black Cherry.
I started them in FFOF in little cups, I didn’t like how they where growing so I made an impulsive newbie moved and at 10 days old I potted up to red solo cups. At that time I started bottom watering and weighting them before and after and would wait til plants began to droop and weight was at or below original dry weight.
I’ve made mistakes already with to much light which y’all have help me with and just before leaving for a short vacation this past Thursday I posted a pic and question in my thread on Help my plant is wonky and was told (thanks Aqua) to up pot. I came home today to a couple happy girls.A50EB3DF-FD0E-4EBA-9074-EC1ACC73EC92.jpeg6F67A1B4-F9B4-4740-9A80-A760E45E101F.jpegA1044D68-E1C7-486C-8CE0-9B4A0DAC1B25.jpegI plan to outdoor SCROG like TSD did last year. Still haven’t decided on wether they’ll be planted in the ground or in bags again(internal mental struggle). I believe these ladies are ready for a topping. Thoughts?

So sit back watch and help steer this ship towards calmer waters oooorrrrr sit back and watch the shit show unfold and remember the good ole days. In any capacity thank for stopping in. Happy and proud the be a member of team/family BB

Your plants look great.

I've never grown outside, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I believe I see 6 nodes there on the way to 7. If I were growing the indoor version of trees, I would top yes. But the rules are a little different outdoors, you probably want to wait for someone like @TSD to reply.

So not to much to report.
I topped the girls begging of this week at the 7th node. Once again a cranked my light cause i thought they where big enough to take it and within a 36hr period they started twisting again 🤷🏼‍♂️. I’ve started bringing them outside every day when I get home from work since Monday in direct sun for 3-4 hrs to start hardening them off. Tomorrow I’m starting partial shade and sun (depending on time of day) all day but back at under lights at night. I’m also backing light time off a half hour a day to try and get them closer to outdoors light. Hopefully they’ll be outside permanently this weekend and in their big girl pots👍👍

My 4 year old daughter named purple punch cookies = Shelly
and
frosted black cherry = boom boom
🤣🤣🤣

Well girls got out to their final homes today.
25gal pots full of FFOF. I all most got coast of main but for the quantity I needed it would have jumped me another 75 dollars. I did mix in some extra perlite this year.
Have any of you tried this brand dry amendment’s?

Had it at our garden store didn’t buy yet as the FFOF will carry me for a little on its own. I’m gonna stop at a local hydroponic store and check out the Roots line as well

Update:

Girls seem happy enough🤷🏼‍♂️ Settled into their big girl bags and growing well.
Question for y’all, last year I didn’t feed my girls till they started flower as I was told on the other site FFOF runs hot and feeding isn’t required for a month or so….thoughts?? Also when and should I run CalMag? I would probably be running liquid with that as I don’t understand the dry (epson salt and gypsum) and how much to add though NOT OPPOSED to it.

Also who do you thinks causing these sucker marks?????

I’m currently building my SCROG net/frame and hopefully that’ll be installed this week

Anyways thanks for following!

These fuckers are the culprit in my opinion. I had them last summer they left identical markings to what youve got on your plant(s)

Those spots sure do look the same, while i haven’t seen them myself on the girls I KNOW I have those in my vegetable garden on multiple plants 🤦🏻‍♂️ Haven’t seen much damage out there though. I did spray everything tonight with a mixture of Castile soap, water, iso, and neem so hopefully that’ll fix their wagon

Update: Girls got their SCROG tonight, still deciding if I wanna drop it or wait for their stretch, it’s only about 18” above the soil in the pots so I may just wait?
Each plant has 5’ x 5’ of netting and the netting squares are 3” x 3”

Burnt the new leaves with my insecticide spray the other night🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ I think the soap didn’t dry and the hot sun scorched the new growth, hard lesson…

It's like a Turbo TSD!!! 🤣

Update for y’all….. I really fucked these girls up 😥 not sure what’s happening now or what will happen. They’re still growing a ton, maybe stretching? I know it looks like bugs have crushed them t
But this is the damage from what I sprayed them with. The new growth all scalded the next day in the sun and as they grew out all these holes and chunks fell away leaving this mess. I have no idea why they’re crinkling up now though, that’s new in the past couple days…..please help with any thoughts 9D392D16-4E1C-4FC7-98F8-CB18E3552315.jpegB81A5E0E-C1C5-4C02-B9BC-F85E45DB764A.jpeg3508C1E7-ACF8-4577-875C-FF6DDB23E477.jpeg69088EA4-FA00-4A44-B987-F34823D48F4C.jpeg46F84D35-7C1C-44B3-9839-E47B868BEC17.jpeg6A689125-E63B-4689-9CEE-754AD1150405.jpeg8C3EC3D1-A9E9-4EFC-A151-01534CF21D52.jpeg

Sprayed on June 26th with a combination of ISO, neem, water and dr. Castile soap. I believe I was way to heavy on the soap. The next day when I was headed for work they where wet still and when I came home all the tender you leaves that where just opening had burned….

It's weed. They'll be fine. You probably stunted them so for now, if they're not watered, go ahead and wash off the whole plant with whatever you sprayed and give them a good watering and let them revive. If you do have bugs the spray wash will probably knock off whatever was originally chewing on the leaves and it'll give the plant some time to revive.

When I get any signs of bugs or I see them I try and use the gentlest insecticide first. Insecticidal soap solution. That'll usually kill off most of the bugs out there if you catch it early.

I figured they’d survive the initial stupid move 🤣 after all if you look at the pic’s they’ve grown a TON in the last week and a half. My real concern is the crinkling of the leaves. That’s new and I’m not really sure why…..only thing I did that was new was feeding them Saturday night with sensi bloom but I used that for moths last year and the plants didn’t have a problem at all.

Update:
Got back from a week long camping trip yesterday and the girls where doing great!
Wish I had gotten a picture before tucking yesterday but I wasn’t thinking.
Today they got fed and a light defoliation. I really wanna get good air movement through them this year as I really fought WPM and bud rot last year. Any good defoliation threads when a SCROG is in place?
Wish my phone camera was better but it’s gotten BEAT!
The new growth looks healthy and I pulled the tape off the area the split and she’s healed wonderfully❤

Hard trim, for me, would be to clear the canopy of most of the water leaves down below the canopy along with any that are impeding air flow through the canopy. Basically you're creating more space for air to move through to keep PM and other issues to a minimum along with spurring new growth.

Hey, nice big plants, I think you're way too early with the net over top...I see 3 more weeks before they start to flip and they grow exponentially so in 3 weeks I see 3 more ft on top of that net.....then they stretch some.....you may need another level

I think that’s when CG adds a trestle net for added support but this being my first attempt I’m sure I’m F’ing it up lol
My thought was to keep spreading and tucking every 4-5 days to try and fill out the nets 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️
