Red's Thread ~ All things Cannabis

My original current culture system from 12 years, the instructions were rubber washer on the inside of the bucket then a flat nylon piece that held the air defuser in place.

The nylon piece allowed the nut tto be tightened and slip so as to not distort the rubber washer

edit; add picture , those tabs at the bottom were to hold down the difuser 20231014_023449.jpg

I have always used gaskets on inside[ in the water].
Otherwise water can just follow the threads right past the gasket on the outside.
That's part of why I put silicone on the threads, not the gaskets. An added layer of protection from seepage thru threads, and gives more contact area for the nut with a little flexibility to hopefully absorb movement better in a thin walled vessel that will move as water pressure changes.

All bulkheads are not the same tho, some are designed differently. On the current culture, there is only one way to put them on because of tabs that are molded into the flange side.

Rubber goes on the side opposite of the nut for that reason
I agree that is best practice. Just to be clear tho, that means the rubber goes on either in or out depending on how you install.

I also have bulkheads here that come with 2 gaskets. these have little ridges on them. Ridges go to the tote side.

really impressive Moe!!! that all looks great!!!!

you should see these cats out there making PETG-TPU-PETG parts with flexi hinges... you get the strength of petg and then the flex from the tpu, not sure how they do it but the little i did see was pretty cool!!!

don't think i didn't notice those tighty whiteys either!!!! :ROFLMAO: f'in bandit... peeps are gonna be like wtf?!?!? hahaha

I knew you would get it.

Man you opened up a whole world to me here I didn't know about. On all my stuff I integrate metal for movement. I'm going to play with this stuff for weeks.

On every CC ive had anything to do with the nut has gone together on the inside of the module

Yeah buddy I hear you. If all anyone ever used is current culture we would have a single answer.

Go to Amazon and search bulkhead. There are hundreds of them. Metal, plastic, double gaskets, single, none, slip, threaded, double threaded, etc etc.

This one is clearly designed for the nut on the outside

So I’m just not comfortable saying the nut always goes on the inside, the gasket on the outside, and assuming everyone chooses the same parts

Exactly this ^^^ thats why i said it goes opposite the nut

Anxious to see how they do...you gonna run any yourself?
I REALLY want to for sure. @GoodShit97 made some F1(?) seeds from the Mendel Aether x GDP and sent me some and those are burning a hole in my new Bud Builders Vertical Germinator!

Yeah i definitely agree with the "f1(?)" Lol idk what theyd be considered but seemed like f1 was the proper term🤣🤣
Im definitely NOT a breeder lmfao
Cant wait to see what comes of those man.

Yep that's my plan is get with moe on a germinator or 2 and run equal amount clone all then flower and sample see what I get female wise. Never done it but I'll clone the males and try to keep them on chill til the smoke report on the females is in....hopefully I can get some ideas from how the males veg and how they started to look when I discovered they were males (trichs smell nodal spacing etc) and culled them on the initial seed pop. Stoned rambling. Point is I got a plan, and I'm going to try to stay up with you guys on this and send report. 🍻

Figured out my plan on those aether x gdp. Gonna run those alongside some shoreline og x stardawg I ended up snagging off green point. Hopefully find some nice shit and maybe a nice male.

I'm going to run those in the maiden run here too, alongside others. You can have any males I find.

Interesting the way you did this. Will the Cannabis Caddies be removable for cleaning?
No, just the whole lid. The twist locks are the only removable part here.

This makes the top heavier to help with sealing it, blocks light, makes an easy tp clean surface, and perhaps most importantly seals in gasses. Leaks have been an issue for me in fog.

I'm not suggesting this is the way most people will /should do it.
