Stoney's Candylicious Hydro scrog

yes these are the ones i have... been trying to get a photo but haven't been able to.

i've tried a few of the popular methods: poisons, predators, soap. everything has kept them at bay but not been able to stop them from coming back.
Your only chance is to break the cycle. Females over winter way up north. These fucks are dedicated to staying put if you keep feeding them new plants.

Most cures do not cover the whole growth cycle. Like you mentioned ozone does not kill eggs. You may need to overlap treatments like predatory mites right after the ozone to clean up the eggs that got missed.

i get what you're saying man, i just need to stay on top of it and keep swapping it up. i just have to work harder and do a better job. i need to find a way to "cap off" the top of the clay. i would love to be able to turn the plants upside down. ever done that with clay?

just long enough to dip or spray... i could do a better job being more thorough and dipping would help maybe.

Dude I feel for you. I’m an all or nothing kinda guy. I’d want zero bugs anywhere so grow number 2 is not a concern.

I’m not doing the work so don’t listen to me, but I’d be yanking plants and the cabinet and sterilize everything with uv or oxy and bleach and whatever you got. Then wait 2 weeks and do it again. Then go buy the lumber and sterilize one more time before b
Rebuilding the cabinet.

I don’t see why not. Just 3D print a disk with a slot in it big enough to pass the stalk and hold it over the clay while you flip it.

Bleach and or venigar barrier?

Or better yet use foam board rather than plywood when you rebuild. Bugs don’t like that stuff near as much as wood.

1 inch insulation 4x8 sheet is cheap. So is the thinner stuff I just used behind the tile I put in the bathroom. Called go board I think.

i'm not against this and thought i did it right the first time. i did not wait the two weeks like you say, i just pyrethrin bombed then home defense then bleached two days later.. waited one more day and then might have fucked up reintroduced a possible infected plant.

if this is where i went wrong then i accept it and can fix it. but if it's not and it's something more serious then how would i know?

if i wait the two weeks how could i find out if it's clear? i'm not against it at all.

Takes up to 19 days for eggs to hatch iirc. Time is necessary to break the cycle because the eggs are the bastards that screw with you.

Pretty sure you want to kill everything you can but for sure get all the adults so no more eggs get laid. Then wait for the eggs you missed to hatch and repeat. Eventually you will kill everything that hatches before it can reproduce.

As far as knowing if you are clear? I don’t know how. You could have an egg on your jacket sleeve you reintroduce. I went thru this with something similar and was able to eradicate but still kept my butt cheeks clenched for several grows after.

I also used a steam cleaner during the cleanup phase. Pretty much everything I had I hit it with. It worked.

you're right Moe, i need to quit fooling myself and wasting my time. i only have a few more weeks till the other cabinet is harvested and need to do a total and full clean with no plants and no limits. this is the worst i've ever had them so i need to treat it as such.

it sucks now but i'll get over it.

I just sacrificed 4 @ 4 foot tall Tropicana Cherry clones.
I don't negotiate with terrorist.
The battle is not over. " I am well aware".
It is a life cycle with pest and generational cycles in some cases.

Specially with those two spotted bitches!

I won't fight mites that is for sure.
I don't want to fight anything.
I got good at breeding fish through strict protocol and passion.
If you don't do what the best do you won't achieve what best do. Not going to say some don't get lucky and lucky is king next to cash.
There really are no short cuts. We are seeing this in "breeding" and in remedies for issues IMO.
Just conveniences for those without enough time to do it right.

I will not say that those who recover from issues did not win, but today everyone gets a trophy for playing.
Life and growing should be a marathon and not a sprint.
I will Kill all my plants like all my fish surely died, the question and ultimate goal is what came from them.
Did I leave more than you took kind of thing.

message clearly heard loud and clear.... i understand!

sorry to rasta Jeff... sorry to gifter 420 for the seeds, sorry to the ganja gods, sorry to any of you that spent time reading this.

thanks everyone for keeping me steered in the right direction and making the right decisions!!!!

I’m pretty anal about my growspace too. I haven’t brought in a plant from outside since my mishap.

Dhl is at the front door delivering my o2 pooper.

;roc;tyvm;tree2;xmassmile

you're the man Moe!!!!! thanks so much Santa Red!!!!!

so i have officially identified the mites as two spotters... could be worse i guess. i removed the plants and bombed the room last night, i haven't opened it up yet. i'm gonna hit the plywood and studs with steam, the floor liner is coming out and will be replaced, another bomb or two, maybe a no pest strip, and i have dormant oil to saturate all wood with. i need to wait till i harvest the black room before i spray the oil, i wanna spray both cabinets at once, then maybe bomb them both at once again too.

here's what i got..

Man I feel your pain.

i know ya do... there will be gratification and pride though once we clean.

this will give me some time to modify my net cup situation and try some coco/perlite.. i want roots like Moe:

it's confirmed though 100% i have mites in both cabinets... i found them on two plants last night. i'll probably do a shorter harvest, not crazy early but at least a few days earlier than i would. i plan to bomb the entire basement and give em everything i got!

EC probes need to be temp compensated.

I’ll show you what I mean when I head back down.
I never looked into why?

Besides temperature, which is just a term for "energy' in "scientific terms"

Cold, less energy, the nutrients are more dense, or more contracted together In a solution? As more energy, the ions would be more separate, or further apart?

so the PPM would read higher or lower than it actually is?

This is what Gemini says ~

EC probes need to be temperature compensated because the conductivity of a solution is significantly influenced by temperature. Here's why:

  • Temperature's Effect on Ion Mobility:
    • As temperature increases, the kinetic energy of ions in a solution also increases.

    • This increased kinetic energy leads to faster movement of ions.
    • Faster ion movement results in higher conductivity, even if the concentration of ions remains the same.

after reading about it a bit i decided i do want a temp sensor on it. i checked into it and the sensor is only $12 for temp so i added it to the parts list. Moe is helping me out and i'll have a live monitor for DO/O2, EC, pH, and temp of my rez. gonna be sweet!!!!!!!

Hey …there’s my dancing banana that escaped my line up..the smiley doing a wheelies gone walkabouts aswell. 1734761966416.gif

ah man show me the wheelie... i missed that one.

This thread is a good read! Sorry to hear about the mites though 😕 What kind of live monitor were u looking at? I'd love to go that way as well,
