whispers 12...you want 12 hahaDid a harvest today. Now I need to reconfigure my 4x8 with 6 or 8 plant sites.
Hmmmm.
Right there with ya bro - doesn’t mean I can’t grow fire ! Lol - I have recently confirmed that anything ! Coming from my dirty room is way better than anything I can buy up here at a dispo or black market ! Unless I wanna pay $300 an ounce from a caregiver ! Junkyard growers unite !Your stuff looks like a bio lab while my stuff looks like I salvaged a junk yard.![]()
Wonderland. Meaning 199 and down. Not sure exactly. Over 300 when started.
Hope they smell like weed ?Smell my fingers and tell me it didn't happen.
Seems hard to deny.Left is soil right is hydro, taken from the surface. I think this is why it is named watermelon it kinda has a rind.

If big plants is your yardstick then yup soil doesn’t stand a chance.Seems hard to deny.
While pleased with my grow I do really believe they could have been bigger.
The difference seen here is clear.![]()
It's the American way! Bigger is ALWAYS better! If big plants is your yardstick then yup soil doesn’t stand a chance.
That’s not the only measure I’m looking forward to loading up my bong and giving it the real test.
I guess I made my decision tho I’ve already got the hydro parts going back in this tent.
Don't tell my wife. It's the American way! Bigger is ALWAYS better!![]()
Can't wait to see this play out. Cool idea for sure.So I’m gonna try my hand at printing plumbing parts. This is abs and will cement up like pvc.
Bulkheads are friggin expensive.

Hey Moe, I popped 5 of 6 seeds 2 Green Crack 2 Trainwreck and 1 Gruntz. I Gruntz turned black and didn't pop. Another popped but hasn't grown any secondary leaves so its a fail as well so I dropped a Chocolate Mimosa to replace it. Odd 3 days out of the soil and no secondary, I can see 2 tiny tiny little things that haven't moved in the centre since it opened. All the others up waving saying hi and on their waySo I’m gonna try my hand at printing plumbing parts. This is abs and will cement up like pvc.

Good to hear you can use them. Sorry about the runtz. They grew well for me. Speedy high.Hey Moe, I popped 5 of 6 seeds 2 Green Crack 2 Trainwreck and 1 Gruntz. I Gruntz turned black and didn't pop. Hell yeah man, they charge way too much for them things! So I’m gonna try my hand at printing plumbing parts. This is abs and will cement up like pvc.

Be sure to use the correct glue when welding pvc to absSo I’m gonna try my hand at printing plumbing parts. This is abs and will cement up like pvc.

You may recall I historically have grown organic soil and switched to Coco this past 6 months. I have been worried about losing the smell or taste in my buds. I can tell you that my first harvest in Coco has been in grove bags for 60 days atleast and both the smell and taste are as good as I ever produced in organic soil. The growth rates are faster, the vigor of the plants is more robust, and the end product is as good or better. Now, thats the difference between soil and coco. I have no doubt hydro is even more noticeable. If big plants is your yardstick then yup soil doesn’t stand a chance.

Still using organic inputs or did you switch to salts? You may recall I historically have grown organic soil and switched to Coco this past 6 months. Hey no sweat, shit happens I just thought I'd let you know I've started a new crop with those seeds. 5 are up & waving hello. I was able to pop 1 Gruntz and I can clone from her when needed.I just wanted to say thanks againGood to hear you can use them. Sorry about the runtz. They grew well for me. Speedy high.
I switched to salts. Running the CannaCoco lineup.Still using organic inputs or did you switch to salts?
"Print a humidifier" lmfao next level mad scientist status man. I've been hella sick with the flu lately so I've been mia. REALLY looking forward to the soil vs hydro smoke report! Hope all is going well bro, I'm better now so Im backFirst I’m gonna print a humidifier because I didn’t win the raffle. Piped to my RO using 3 ultrasonic disks. I did something similar in fog I just need to put sides around it

I was thinking about trying out the CannaCoco lineup. What products do you use aside from the Part A/B?I switched to salts. Running the CannaCoco lineup.

Is there a grow generation by you. They basically copied canna and have a simple A/B cal mag and PK for flower. Their brand is called drip.I was thinking about trying out the CannaCoco lineup. What products do you use aside from the Part A/B?
Eventually i'll talk you into hydro.I run Canna "Coco" A&B but use rooted leaf cal/mag Fuel and as a bloom booster I use FF Big Bloom which is bat guano&worm castings. I've seen the drip commercials but I am wary, prove me wrong? SSgrower I like the Canna
I've never tried, coco & perlite is all I know indoors. Expense is a consideration as I retire next year and need the funds from cannabis to help with monthly bills. like $375 Reliant bill as they "raised" they're rates in September, "A Kick in the Balls" Dang Moe help with those plans,Lol, thanks SSgrowerEventually i'll talk you into hydro
NeatA few updates

Humidifier done, RDWC almost. I’ll have a leak test here in the next couple days.
Decided to go with 12 total sites for pheno and female hunting with the expectation to cull 4 and take 8 to harvest.

I'll take the middle one out and use a plug in the twist lock when running 8 or less.
Curious if you looked at the total watt per gram of the entire system and compare coco vs hydro which would win?I've never tried, coco & perlite is all I know indoors. Feel the same way. You will save a bit on nutrient’s and additives also. But i do feel coco is easier to an extent.Curious if you looked at the total watt per gram of the entire system and compare coco vs hydro which would win?
Lights are the same, most things are the same, but pumps and stuff with hydro would make electricity go up. But IMHO yield would likely go up more than the electric bill.
Dunno, there's upfront costs and learning curves to deal with too.
I can say without a doubt that if I were growing for yield / profit, I would pick hydro hands down every time. Higher cost to get into it, but you would probably make it back on the first grow. Maybe.
I've had a 2# indoor plant with hydro. I don't see a lot of those with other methods. Outdoors is a different animal.
now, stick with me here, what about outdoor hydro?Feel the same way. You will save a bit on nutrient’s and additives also. But i do feel coco is easier to an extent.
also agree you cannot beat outdoor in terms of cost of production
Yeah i have seen that done twice and its beyond impressive brothernow, stick with me here, what about outdoor hydro?
best of both worlds, and with a large enough system, the yield could potentially be record setting. a gigantic hoop house running a massive aquaponic or otherwise large capacity system would be insane. throw in light dep and you could likely see multiple harvests a year in some climate zones.
Aren't they already doing that with hydro vege farming? Granted, a weed crop is more valuable so ROI would be faster but same basic structure.now, stick with me here, what about outdoor hydro?

oh yeah, most of commercial veg ag is done hydroponically. it's more cost effective and better for the environment than traditional or even regenerative techniques.Aren't they already doing that with hydro vege farming? decreases time in veg, and that growth rate increase in flower translates to larger plants overall. what might take two months in soil to veg a plant can take as little as a few weeks if things are running perfectly.Alright which one of you hydro gurus is gonna learn us on this one? I'm ready to see this.
I've heard hydro can cut down the growth cycle is that just veg stage or can it hasten flowering as well?? You time that puppy right outside and if it shortens both veg and flower...damn...you could shorten the grow season and maybe finish before the wet season
