Pipecarvers Pipes & things

I was looking for some Bling for my grow room and found this wall light I can personalize so I ordered a 14" with PipeCarver's on top and Grow Den on the bottom. When I ordered there's an option for a light but next to the button to click for the light is Not Recommended $8.99....its a wall light sign with an not recommended light...lol...okay so no light wall art.1739471861401.png1739471883907.png

That doesn’t make sense? Not like LEDs are going to get too hot.

A cold days drive yesterday, a couple of boats didn't make it out before the freeze up. With a shot of the world famous

Bloody cold looking but cool. We used to watch the Oak Island TV shows but each one is 80% recap of what’s already been shown.

I was disappointed to find out it’s now owned by US owners. They have to follow environmental rules and regulations and get permits and stuff but if they find anything they’ve hinted too in the past I’m sure it’ll be long gone fast. 🤔

Te whole island isn't owned by Americans there are maybe 20 different land owners, some have permission to use a private causeway others don't and ave to take their own boat to it. We also have heritage laws, we aren't allowed to use metal detectors and if we do anything we find that's not modern day stuff like rings,& jewellery, coins is owned by the Government, old buckles, button, bullets, badges, old coins is theirs and has to be given up to them if found.

Death To Tyranny!

We have a nice mess outside now, I'll bet the emergency rooms are packed with broken something after a fall. I'm not sure I can drive out of my driveway, walking on it is out, I have to skirt the edges in the snow, crunch through to get footing. My steps up a level are all ice, without a railing they would be impossible to climbfeb 14 2025 driveway ice.JPGfeb 14 2025 driveway ice2.JPG

Understood, I had a bad fall in winter of 22/23 and broke my arm and some ribs. Since then I've been wearing crampons and I walk without giving a second thought to the ice; highly recommend a good pair of spikes!

Yep that ice is no good

I took some mountain climbing training when I was young and learned a thing or 2 on how to walk on ice. Paying attention to every step is #1, no distractions and feet square to the ground, Not to say I can't fall but paying attention to every step keeps me upright.

As a roofer I take slipping and falling a little more serious than many.
It could kill me any day.
I wore the Yaktrak grips a lot when I walked my dogs in the winter. They make a huge difference for sure.
Easy on and off also make them convenient.
Walking properly on ice, not pushing or sliding is an art.

That's just how I used to think! Been walking on ice every winter of my long life and as far as dexterity have many years of martial arts and played hockey in my youth too, but I highly recommend crampons my friend, especially as we age!

Under certain conditions I won't even leave the house without them on, after the fall I had I won't risk it ever again, took forever to heal too

I leave them on a pair of old boots that I slip on and off so it's easy peasy! Under 20 bucks on Amazon, best to be safe!

I just try and not walk on it at all cost.
Funny, 30 or ago didn't care, now it makes my hip hurt worse just thinking of it.
But yeah, do not get distracted, don't plant your feet but plant your feet even.

WoW, guess I got high morning, i just realized that made sense ;bsmoke

I could use them now for sure, all the skills in the world won't keep me upright with what we have on the ground now. I have to walk in the snow, anything I shovelled clean is a skating rink now. I also took tumbling classes through school and it has helped me numerous times when I do fall, There's a skill to falling as well.....well landing and tumbling not going kerplunk slam. Bike riding, hockey, all sports teach falling skills when done enough and I did a lot. Again not to say I'm not going to fall but a life of falling has taught me how to do it safer than most.

When you get out of a car now, swing both feet out, square them up and stand flat, no putting one foot out at an angle and take solid footing for granted. Fk plant teaching we need how to walk on ice training, I know a guy,...lol

Looks like hip breaking landscape. I keep a mix of sand and salt for here but you’d need a lot more than I use. 😳
