My pots held all night. all 6 are now in operation on Flower day., I think it was poor cleaning on my part and sediment was causing sealing problems. Last night after pulling and cleaning 2 more I found some salts stuck to the underside of the inner float on the silicon nozzle. I gave the drip line a blow job and that cleared some debris from the tip of the nozzle. I guess after that it was happy and started working right, amazing what a bj at the right time can do

i bought one of those pucks but it was at the end of last cycle so i didn't get to use it yet.

is the purpose of them to help the plants go into "sleep mode"? or are there other advantages?

Yes that's the primary reason. So putting them to sleep faster allows us to have a longer flower day giving 1/2 hr more light per day. My one try with 1 puck in a 3x3 I believe finished a clone faster than her mother so with 3 in my 5x5 I hope that covers all of them and wraps them in a warm red blanket to help them sleep at night...we'll see how it goes

thanks man, i took kinda the same approach, i bought one and if i notice anything good i'll get three more.

just an FYI, the first one i bought was bad. their customer service was fantastic, and replaced it immediately and sent me a pre labeled envelope to send the bad one back.

all pots are holding level, red lights are installed & I got my air lines installed and operational. I had a heck of a time timing it for 1min on 1 min off but after an hour of fiddling with my timer I have it working. On my last grow I only had 4 lines working, this time I have 6 which required a different pump. I have a larger noisier pump with a manifold for 6 lines but without muffling its just too noisy to run.

inside the cooler its muffled pretty well and with only 1 min on 1 min off it doesn't get hot. If I can hear it upstairs I'll have to switch tactics. I have my 4 valve pump and 2 more single valve aquarium pumps so I can run them all if needed

My pump is a fail, it's still too noisy and scares the shit out of my cats when it goes on. The low rumble has them all freaked out. I'll have to use my other aquarium pumps that are almost silent.

Cats, screwing up my plans again lol , my wife couldn't hear it at all and I could barely hear it but my boys got all stressed out each time it came on, what looked funny at first and I thought they'd get over it but nope, after about 15 min watching them react that was it, I like my cats happy and if the pump is scaring them off it goes

I put the top net on last night and I have some tucking under to do again already, I think they shot up 6" last night or I'm getting shorter. The Chocolate Mimosa has nice large leaves, a bit shorter than the rest but she makes it up in girth and she's 1 week younger than the rest.

I got a small support / table set up for my lathe and turned my first piece, I took it up to show my wife and subsequently lost it / misplaced it. cats took it? just a small 1x1" 6" long turned thing....lol but It showed me I can do this, hard on my back so I don't have it high enough yet another fkin inch. I'll try and find some thick hard rubber shoes for the base I can screw to the table.

Chocolate Mimosa center front, not sure about the rest and who's who as I lost most of my tags during transplant. They should distinguish them selves soon so I can ID at least before I bag them.

Found a small helper in my tent today, he won't eat much and if there are any winter mites I guess he'll help clean them up for me. Odd to see a Wasp out in December.

Yes he hunts spiders, mice and snakes in the basement, He caught 2 small snakes this year & we don't have a lot of them up here. Cute little racers. I was too late to help the poor little mangled things, they don't do any harm and eat small bugs in the garage. A bit too small to take on mice but I'd rather have them alive than dead. He gets a kick out of it though, prancing around with them between his teeth then toss it and chase it......................Cats...lol

Its been a while since an update with pics. Everything looks good, nice big leaves and a full canopy. 18 days into flower they look on schedule. Far red pucks still come on for 15 min at lights out, I think they added to the stretch and helped elongated the stalks.

I cleaned my res today and dumped what was left of the nutes . I found quite a bit of beige silt on the bottom so I flushed my chiller with plain cold water and more silt came out so I did it again and more silt. I must have flushed my chiller 8 times to get rid of the floating debris in the water. I also have a pre filter to prevent silt going into the chiller in the first place I cleaned a number of times while flushing the chiller.

Its all running clean now but I either need another filter, somehow stop the build up in the first place or clean more often. I'm using Flora Clean this time after trying Hyclear my last run. There is no change in build up from one to the other. I flushed about 1/2 gal through the lines and it was all clear so I should be good for 2 weeks and do it again.

I plucked about 50 leaves today to allow more air flow and better light penetration, all nice fat healthy leaves that have done their job, I hate plucking the solar panels off but its gotta be done.

I filled 8 gal food into my res of 6/4/8/4/3/5 after cleaning ml/gal M/G/B/DN/cal mag / Flora clean, day 19 of flower with far red initiator lights running a 12.5 on 11.5 off cycle

When do you start adding epsom to your feeds to smooth out the smoke? Think you said 1 TSP per 3.75L of normal feed starting week 7?

Chelation , I start adding 1 tbs /ga Epsom Salts the last 3 days before cut. Its supposed to be a tobacco farmers trick for better burning tobacco.....wtf is with bold print now.....fkin fat fingers did something they shouldn't have

Jan 1 2024, If you knew me when I was younger you'd be surprised I made it this far, Happy New years to all....2024......a long way from 1952. Lets hope our world leaders get together for a smoke and sit back and chill for a bit. No will to fight when you just smoked one,

My plants are doing well 1 month into flowering and starting to bulk up. I bit close to my lights but the seem happy so alls good. I'm going through 1/2+ gal /day/plant. I've been adding 7 gal every 2 days. I have the full concoction going now at full strength with
6/4/10/...1/3tsp.kool bloom/4diamond nectar/5 cal-mag/ 5 Florakleen /5 peroxide/ gal. Plus the magic waving of my hand over the res to supper charge and purify said concoction.

I've turned 2 pieces of Acrylic into things with holes in them on the way to becoming pipe stems. I have to use my sanding tool to shape the mouth piece and that creates too much dust with my flowering plants in the same room, doors 1/2 open to control humidity

I read something @Dirtbag mentioned about an old tobacco farmers trick of adding Epsom salts the last few days of their lives to improve the burn quality of the tobacco. I've been adding 1 tablespoon in per gallon in my water the last few grows in my Auto Pots the last 3-4 days....no scientific proof it works but it doesn't seem to hurt and my joints stay lit...as I burn my fingers smoking the last bit of my first morning smoke

I've been watching YT vids on turning acrylic and todays lesson was turn up the speed as fast as it will go safely. I had been rounding it slowly then turning it up but not as fast as it will turn. I'll have to move my belt to the high speed pulley's, I have it on low now. it'll top out at over 3200rpm and now its only at 1200rpm.

I still haven't finished a stem off yet. I need to make dust fly so I'm thinking a plastic enclosure. I have a bunch of poly I used for a green house a while back and I think I can staple it to the rafters and enclose a small closet to carve in. The trick will be to keep Qnight off it, he has a thing about clawing at plastic, Styrofoam couches and anything new in his way. The location I'm thinking of is in a corner right next to my vacuum line I can hook up a port to suck the dust out......now to get at it......

Gotta do a Costco run today, into Halifax, lunch, Lee Valley, Michele's maybe, I watched a video last night on how to make my own Acrylic Blanks out of epoxy and coloring. It would make the blanks 1/4 the cost of buying them maybe less. I need their 40% off coupons

I've started to make a space to carve in while my plants are in flower. I need to contain the dust I create so I'm using a corner in my shop to make a 5x5 space I can sit and carve. I hooked up my vacuum system and hung my Foredom rotary tool I use to carve with yesterday, I'm just going to make a door from a tarp to cover my back side.

I have my 6 plants up and growing now for my next run 2 Frozen Custered, 2 Greesy, 1 simple Wedding Cake, 1 Bubba Mac & Cheese plus a tub of Cat grass, gotta keep the kitties happy.

My flower are coming along, a bit on the small size but looking good and getting sticky.

I moved my bench grinder into my small sanding space with the vacuum line attached so I can get at pipe making again. still with 7 week flowering plants I really don't want any dust so I'm hesitant in getting at it yet.

I've been waiting on a pen making kit from Leevalley and it arrived Wednesday. I'm going through a video following step by step and I get to the part where I attach my mandrel to my lathe......say what?.....I need another tool, just a small part but without it its a no go,

another$10 -$12 and I can have what I need and why that piece isn't included in the kit for novice pen makers is a good question...12 more bucks add it to the kit and charge for it....but oh no I need to order one in and pick it up next week sometime....so I'm on hold again.

after bitching a couple of days ago about another tool I need to make pens......well it was in the box, separate from the kit hiding on me. I found it this morning and went about making my first pen, I have another blank ready to go. I still have to hold off any more though just too much of a chance of contaminating my buds at 7 weeks in flower they're just too sticky to ruin for a pen.

I made a couple more pens yesterday one from Acrylic and 1 from Bubinga, I also tried one out of Olive wood but I caught and edge right and the very end and split my blank right down through it. toss one, started another.

I got hermies one Trainwreck is full of seeds, I'm not sure of the rest. My bad eyes didn't look close enough until last night I saw a seed pod on top and I plucked it off then my eye's opened wide as I saw the rest.

First time in years, It must be 8 years since my last seeded crop, I just hope now that there's enough good weed to get me through to my next crop...3 1/2 months away at this point.

I'm at week 8 today in flower, not sure what I'm going to do, the damage is done so cutting all early won't help save anything so I might as well let them ride.

I think I may pull the 1 Trainwreck up front, that's where I found the top seed and hang it to dry. I guess my wife will have lots of cooking weed to make oil from.
