I like the sticker around the gauge! What kind of rosin bags did you get? Have you researched bottle tech in relation to the rosin bagging? Are you doing any pre pressing with a mold?

I was a little overwhelmed at first, curious if you got it all figured out or if my learning experience can be of help

Some bags came with the unit and some I bought of amzone 90mic, I've used both now once both bottle tech method. I bought a small press but its too fkin small, its going back. My rosin is pretty dark but it was 11 week stuff. I have a small plant I'm going to chop and freeze then press I may get a gram off it if lucky. I never set a timer for this poor girl, I didn't have the heart to chop her so I fluorescent and tent flipped her. Some days she'd get 8-9 hrs sitting in my shop the next day18 hrs in my tent and so on no feed other than dregs from my other plants.

My first press I used 4-5 grams the second 7-9 grams. I need a cooling plate I have sticky shit on my fingers , fking up and trying to dab it up warm but I got me some resin...lol and it taste great off a rolling paper as I heat up my new pen

It does fuck your tolerance for sure, haven't done a dab in a year, and i barley use the vape, only when traveling to family or something

I want to research how i can use rosin in edibles if possible

I haven't made any edibles in over a year... I need to get back in it, i really enjoyed making the hard candy

We’ve never done dabs properly. My son adds them to bong rips. I do what Bandit does and just butter the top of the vape capsule.


No idea where my son got it but it smells like a girls watermelon lip gloss.

Adding it to Sherbanger #22 or GG#4 really raises the bar. Also causes couch lock if you don’t get up and move.

I haven't got the pen thing right yet, I already lost 1 of the glass balls that is supposed to help heat the resin, tiny little things are supposed to sit in the quarts bowl and spin around while you draw on the pen. fkin gimmick My resin taste like hot knifing hash, a burnt tar taste. I've dropped some onto a rolling paper and smoked it that way and that makes it taste better but the papers run funny so its hard to smoke.

Ive seen amber resin come out of the presses with younger weed. I'm thinking 8 week stuff may have cleaner looking resin.I still haven't flipped my girls they must be 3 months old now maybe 4 I will dedicate 2 plants to resin production and I'll pull them early like 8 weeks, freeze then press them out.

Alls good the press works well I've watched a few Youtube clips on pressing so I'm not having problems gathering the resin other than needing a cold plate to put the hot parchment paper on..

I've seen vids on temp with 180f as a low temp for first press. I've pressed twice now, first was at 180f the next was 200f both looked about the same although I got a bit more from the second batch. I may press another load today and try an even higher temp, the last vid I saw they were pressing at 220f which is where the recommended temp on my machine is, or so say the directions.. All of my weed is 11+ weeks in flower not many clear trichs left at that point. I've heard something of fresh frozen weed then pressed for cleaner looking resin

Oh the shit is good when spread onto a paper. Its strong and gives a solid buzz. I've been having troubles dabbing it up off the parchment paper after pressing. I need a cold plate to help. I've been sticking it in my mini fridge in the freezer section to cool it but its still warming too fast when I bring it out and place it on my desk. The shit stays sticky on the parchment paper making it awkward to get into a clump, I'll get there its all new to me and the learning curve gets steeper as I smoke more, you'll hear words like ooops and shiiit and FUUUck around me but I'll get it eventually, sticky fingers or not.

Good, good. I was worried something was off.

The few times my pressing with the oven and vice caused rosin leaks I put the parchment paper and die set into the fridge freezer or deep freezer for a few hours. It gets hard then. But it does warm up fast. You only have a few minutes at best to get it off cleanly. I also have dental tools I use to scrape it off the dies or paper.

This is my favourite tool for weed. Cleaning capsules or scraping weed into a roller it’s just handy.


Can you put the bag or paper into something that will keep it cold a bit longer? A metal box, like a taffy tin or something?

Maybe use a frozen travel bottle with a flat side to put it on while working with it? (You know the type of frozen bottle you put in a cooler to have a picnic lunch stay cold.)

You might be able to use a ziplock baggy that freezes flat with water in it for now. Put the paper on top of it like a work surface. IDK, just spit balling easy ideas.

Either way I’m glad it’s working out. You’ll figure something out I’m sure.

yield is dependent on so many factors of pressing.. the density and humidity of the flower matter, temps matter, amount of pressure, time of pressure, and of coarse the ol' catchall we use: genetics matter!!!!

most non growers never own a press, it eats flower up faster than anyone can smoke it.

smaller batches tend to give me the best return but also take more time in the end for the amount.
a pro tip is before you put the boots to it let it sit for almost a minute to get hot before pressing on.. so bring the plates tight, but don't feel stop pressure yet and let it sit there to warm up. i have a 40 second pre timer just so i don't rush it, longer won't hurt ya.. gets the contents fully warmed first then slowy apply pressure... slowly!!!

to much pressure and heat will leave you with dark reclaim tasting product. the goal is as light of a color as you can. if your product ends up to loose and runny that is usually to much pressure. your goal is a sticky taffy consistency. makes it very easy to pull off the paper and use that way.

pre presses and bags are great tools to use. i mainly only use a pre press when i'm not using a bag. bags are pricey but you can stuff way more in a smaller area and process more volume quicker. blowouts are the downside of it. you'll learn what bags can take how much pressure as you use them.

it's helped my yield big time and also prevents blowouts as easy.

when you start bringing the plates in you can see when the bag starts to like pillow out, you know what i mean.. thats right where i pause, go get a drink or take a dab or something that forces me away for a minute.. i then pump down slow keeping my eye on my gauge as a backup and once i start to hear the rosin popping or bubbling out, almost like little air bubbles popping sound, once i start to hear that i hink up a second and only pump very slow just trying to hold that pressure. the bottle will give pressure than relieve it on it's own, our job is to keep that even pressure and not let it relax.. i keep slowly pumping on it, trying to hold that sweet spot. eventually you'll run out of room and it will be at max pressure. the whole process should only take a few minutes.

It’s the same thing you’d do with a vape. I also like the buds at 62-68% RH. As you seem to get more vapor. @Stoneyluv do you have a RH that you find works better?

No pics or video's, My son and I went to shoot, wife stayed in the observation room. They give you the target when you leave. Its been 50+ years since I've fired a weapon. My first shot I nailed the target spot dead center and put 2 other rounds through the same hole out of 6 shots the others I pulled a bit and shot low but still on line. The red dot rifle was cool, hard to miss when the red dot is on target.

After the 45 magnum I was a bit nervous to shoot the 500, way too big for my hands to grasp properly and much too heavy to be very accurate but I still nailed the target mid body, hard to miss with the target being only about 15 ft in front. It was a fun 1/2 hr cost me $100. Not bad for an opportunity to shoot weapons I've only seen on TV.

The place was packed, There was a special on and it was busy, quite a few Asian women, small light framed bodies shooting big guns...lol They didn't have any problems shooting them either. It was my first time it didn't look like it was theirs as they seemed to know how to handle them all. I may go again if they put on a similar sale. There are a few more guns I'd like to give a go with, I'm now officially 74...sigh

Thanks for that but there is nothing happy about a 74th birthday, kinda makes me feel 1 step closer to being in the dirt, Feels a lot different than turning 21. Its supposed to be a major rain fall event here today with thunder, lightning maybe a tornado so I'm hunkered down, smoking up a storm of my own. I'm prepared, vapes with 2 - 1.1gram carts of Blue Dream at 98%thc about 1 gram of fresh home made Blue Dream resin and about 1/2 ton of cured smokeable weed in my fridge I should be good for the day.

6 months after my birthday I consider myself the next year older as I am officially closer to that then what my real age says.
My wife just shakes her head every July when I wish myself a happy birthday and announce that I am older.

After 60 I’ve noticed a lot more things just hurt and have started breaking down.

And now I’ve advanced from reading glasses to progressives. Very weak prescription but still…

My plants were flipped on the 15th after months of neglect I gave them 2 weeks in the autopots before I flipped and now they are huge and healthy, with more growth than I cam handle. I turned on my side lights today, I'm using 2 of the 75 watt bars from a Spiderfarmer SE3000 and an SF600 on the back wall. I also turned on my 2 blue lights today with the idea of the blues helping minimize the stretch.

These girls were 2 days from the trash heap, They were so ugly and root bound I thought for sure they were fked but just 2 days in the AP's perked them up and they took off...now to contain them.

I've made a few more presses with my rosin press machine, very cool but man does she eat up the weed. I made 3 presses without a pre mold then packed them together to squeeze them altogether, hoping for a bit more resin...lol...fail...nothing but a mess and a squashed puck. The premold works much better at keeping the weed in the socks.

My plants are out of control with far too much underbrush, All plants are 4-5 months old, topped numerous times and I'm using my 450nm blue lights to help keep them down but there's far too many bud sites to deal with. I've been pulling leaves off every day but I don't seem to be getting anywhere. When I spread them apart there's so much undergrowth the air flow is dead. I'll just keep pulling leaves and branches until I'm satisfied there's enough air flow.

I let my abused Blue dream dry on the stalk then stripped her and fed it to my new rosin press. I got 2 -11 gram pucks with just a bit left over. I squished that into about 3 grams of resin.

I've been pressing at 190f-200F-210F I read that some are pressing at 170 f- 180f. Yesterday I tried 180 f and nothing came out after 3 min of pressing so I upped the temp to 195f as the temp increase the resin started pouring out at about 185f and increased through the temp rise. I'll try 185f next run. Now I need more Parchment paper and there a ton of choices. Google say the best has silicon on it but that shit is expensive. What kind of paper should I use??? Is this stuff any good, price is right.

I've always preferred the sheets over the roll every time. mostly for convenience. for the past few years i've been using this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0742M7KR7

i use my ancient guillotine style paper cutter to slice them into threes and then stack them all up on my press and just grab and go when i want....

Ya, I'll try and post an update later tonight. My wife just had another eye operation and they want her to lay flat for 72 hrs specially the first 24 but doing so made her sick. She gets acid re-flux causing her to cough, constantly then throwing up. She couldnt eat,sleep,drink just got coughed back up. It started with a 6:30am appointment for an operation so we had to be up st 4:15am to get ready for the 75 min drive to down town Halifax and she couldn't eat anything before the op. Not good for her she was nauseous because of no food for so long after getting up even before the operation. Afterwards it was too late she was sick and had to lay flat, very awkward throwing up. She got a Boost ( old folks liquid protein drink) in her not for long, tried a banana, nope, yogourt,,,, that stuff is gross on the way back out...lol....Shes better now I can joke about it. She still needs to take it easy but shes no longer ill.

This week has been a wash but plants are smelling great at just over 4 weeks I'll start my reds on Sunday (5weeks) for 10 min at lights out. I just turned the blues off, Id been running them through the stretch to help keep them short and it worked for the most part. it may even have led to more but site cause my tent is loaded.....pics at 11

My Lemon Lava Lime plants are doing great, after all the abuse they've come back strong and healthy. 5 weeks into flower on Sunday..(.I have crickets in my basement....lol...as I hear one ...now 2 singing.) 4 plants are sucking up 9 gal in 2 .5 days I normally go through only 6 gal but these plants have a lot of undergrowth,leaves and buds, I haul off handfuls of leaves daily but you never know it. Most of the long stemmed fan leaves are off but I still have to removes leaves daily. I have a stand alone plant that is outside of the lights foot print out front still growing but she only gets 1/2 the feed the Autopots do as I water/feed water/feed her. Thanks, This was an all of a sudden operation, They had a cancellation and called to see if my wife would take it, 6:30 the following morning. So it was kinda sprung on us, we weren't really prepared but a good time of the year for multiple trips into town. Its usually in the winter through ice and snow we end up with these things so she took it because of that.
