I like the sticker around the gauge! What kind of rosin bags did you get? Have you researched bottle tech in relation to the rosin bagging? Are you doing any pre pressing with a mold?

I was a little overwhelmed at first, curious if you got it all figured out or if my learning experience can be of help

Some bags came with the unit and some I bought of amzone 90mic, I've used both now once both bottle tech method. I bought a small press but its too fkin small, its going back. My rosin is pretty dark but it was 11 week stuff. I have a small plant I'm going to chop and freeze then press I may get a gram off it if lucky. I never set a timer for this poor girl, I didn't have the heart to chop her so I fluorescent and tent flipped her. Some days she'd get 8-9 hrs sitting in my shop the next day18 hrs in my tent and so on no feed other than dregs from my other plants.

My first press I used 4-5 grams the second 7-9 grams. I need a cooling plate I have sticky shit on my fingers , fking up and trying to dab it up warm but I got me some resin...lol and it taste great off a rolling paper as I heat up my new pen

It does fuck your tolerance for sure, haven't done a dab in a year, and i barley use the vape, only when traveling to family or something

I want to research how i can use rosin in edibles if possible

I haven't made any edibles in over a year... I need to get back in it, i really enjoyed making the hard candy

We’ve never done dabs properly. My son adds them to bong rips. I do what Bandit does and just butter the top of the vape capsule.


No idea where my son got it but it smells like a girls watermelon lip gloss.

Adding it to Sherbanger #22 or GG#4 really raises the bar. Also causes couch lock if you don’t get up and move.

I haven't got the pen thing right yet, I already lost 1 of the glass balls that is supposed to help heat the resin, tiny little things are supposed to sit in the quarts bowl and spin around while you draw on the pen. fkin gimmick My resin taste like hot knifing hash, a burnt tar taste. I've dropped some onto a rolling paper and smoked it that way and that makes it taste better but the papers run funny so its hard to smoke.

Ive seen amber resin come out of the presses with younger weed. I'm thinking 8 week stuff may have cleaner looking resin.I still haven't flipped my girls they must be 3 months old now maybe 4 I will dedicate 2 plants to resin production and I'll pull them early like 8 weeks, freeze then press them out.

Alls good the press works well I've watched a few Youtube clips on pressing so I'm not having problems gathering the resin other than needing a cold plate to put the hot parchment paper on..

IME that has more impact on taste and color.

I've seen vids on temp with 180f as a low temp for first press. I've pressed twice now, first was at 180f the next was 200f both looked about the same although I got a bit more from the second batch. I may press another load today and try an even higher temp, the last vid I saw they were pressing at 220f which is where the recommended temp on my machine is, or so say the directions.. All of my weed is 11+ weeks in flower not many clear trichs left at that point. I've heard something of fresh frozen weed then pressed for cleaner looking resin

not all bags are created equal.. try different brands to see what you like best, some are tougher but yield less, some stretch more but hold less flower, bags that worked great with my old press suck with this one.

and for sure like Steam says, play with those temps!!!!!!!! just because your readout says a number doesn't mean it's really the same temp as another persons.

other things like light or heavy pressure will also affect yield, color, and viscosity. and this may seem wishy washy but man listen to the squish happening, you can hear the ooze.

Oh the shit is good when spread onto a paper. Its strong and gives a solid buzz. I've been having troubles dabbing it up off the parchment paper after pressing. I need a cold plate to help. I've been sticking it in my mini fridge in the freezer section to cool it but its still warming too fast when I bring it out and place it on my desk. The shit stays sticky on the parchment paper making it awkward to get into a clump, I'll get there its all new to me and the learning curve gets steeper as I smoke more, you'll hear words like ooops and shiiit and FUUUck around me but I'll get it eventually, sticky fingers or not.

Good, good. I was worried something was off.

The few times my pressing with the oven and vice caused rosin leaks I put the parchment paper and die set into the fridge freezer or deep freezer for a few hours. It gets hard then. But it does warm up fast. You only have a few minutes at best to get it off cleanly. I also have dental tools I use to scrape it off the dies or paper.

This is my favourite tool for weed. Cleaning capsules or scraping weed into a roller it’s just handy.


Can you put the bag or paper into something that will keep it cold a bit longer? A metal box, like a taffy tin or something?

Maybe use a frozen travel bottle with a flat side to put it on while working with it? (You know the type of frozen bottle you put in a cooler to have a picnic lunch stay cold.)

You might be able to use a ziplock baggy that freezes flat with water in it for now. Put the paper on top of it like a work surface. IDK, just spit balling easy ideas.

Either way I’m glad it’s working out. You’ll figure something out I’m sure.

yield is dependent on so many factors of pressing.. the density and humidity of the flower matter, temps matter, amount of pressure, time of pressure, and of coarse the ol' catchall we use: genetics matter!!!!

most non growers never own a press, it eats flower up faster than anyone can smoke it.

smaller batches tend to give me the best return but also take more time in the end for the amount.
a pro tip is before you put the boots to it let it sit for almost a minute to get hot before pressing on.. so bring the plates tight, but don't feel stop pressure yet and let it sit there to warm up. i have a 40 second pre timer just so i don't rush it, longer won't hurt ya.. gets the contents fully warmed first then slowy apply pressure... slowly!!!

to much pressure and heat will leave you with dark reclaim tasting product. the goal is as light of a color as you can. if your product ends up to loose and runny that is usually to much pressure. your goal is a sticky taffy consistency. makes it very easy to pull off the paper and use that way.

pre presses and bags are great tools to use. i mainly only use a pre press when i'm not using a bag. bags are pricey but you can stuff way more in a smaller area and process more volume quicker. blowouts are the downside of it. you'll learn what bags can take how much pressure as you use them.
