All things shrooms

everything else sounded ok?

i want to try ionic solution. and see if theyll feed off of it mixed with vermiculite

everything im reading says its possible, or should be able to.

i can not find nutrient ratio requirements for the life of me for fruiting fungi bodies

WHERE ARE THE NUMBERS
Cause they eat organicss 😬

man i just want this to work lol

ill do an organic and a synthetic batch

even then it would be cool to see how much they want/need

we need more research on this stuff, id love to do it. this mycology stuff is fascinating

shit, if you want to offload your microgreen gear, let me know. that's a secondary venture i'm looking to spin up alongside the mushrooms
It was pretty fun, and I got really good at germination since that is about all you do then cut them down.

I'm a packrat with a warehouse, so I'll probably hang on to it lol.

haha i hear ya. if you change your mind, you know where to find me.

Its the microwave stuff should be fine but i dont think you wanna do just vermiculite… id suggest verm/coco and if you have some manure added
can do the coco, i do have oats on hand, can probably get some manure.

Hold the manure first round…. It contams easy… the rice i think is your best option thats the organic food part you wont need anything else. There is some more benefit to adding manure and some other stuff but go simple imo.

Colonize rice… follow rice tec…

If you want you can colonize rice and do the 50/50 coco verm to field capacity and then mix at 1 part rice to 2 parts coco/verm

agreed, id rather not bring manure in lol.

Thanks fellas

why do you suggest the coco?

coco also doesn't contam very easily. it's kind of a wonder substrate for mushrooms imo. easy to use, doesn't cause significant problems, readily available, cheap.

think i got my inoculation process down.

my closet door is usually closed, ill clean it up some more, disinfect the room and theres these little wooden shoeboxes attached to the back wall, thinking ill use the one of the little box areas, wipe the surfaces down with 70ISO , maybe use a little lighter in the little area for further sterilization of the airzone there, take a few uncle bens brown rice bags - wipe the bag down and inject the spores, cover with 3M pore tape.

more simple. take a reasonable size cardboard box. cut some arm holes in the side ~6 inches. put some cling wrap over the open end. simple SAB.

put some ISO in a spray bottle and mist tf outta the inside of the box and leave it sit for 20 minutes or more. then, wipe all your materials down, put em in the SAB, and spray again. another 20 minutes, do your thing.

that's literally how i got started, though i did BRF cakes. same same.

Seems super simple

Hell yeah

I just gotta get some uncle Ben's and 70ISO
Micropore tape

you ever work on a car? if so, i'm sure you have a tube of that nasty orange RTV around. much better choice for sealing the injection hole.

I got home a bit ago from a shopping trip. I'm lucky in the sense that I'm able to pick up spores through a local seed shop. Anyway, here's what I purchased.

I'm going to give Uncle Ben's Mushroom Tek a try. I also have more substrate and some micropore tape in my Amazon cart.

What else do I need to complete the monotubs?

I use polyfill and drill holes for FAE. Coco/ vermiculite for sub. I keep my spawn around 80f and when i fruit i drop to about 75f

I have this substrate in my cart:

I have a hole saw kit so I'm not so worried about the holes in the tub. What exactly are you referring to as "polyfill?"

I thought I would use this over the holes drilled into the tubs: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09STMXJ12/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2Y4YGUZQE6ILE&psc=1

Any suggestions/changes to my approach? I'll be using my AC Infinity UIS controller for environment.
Pillow stuffing from walmart or anywhere. Thise may work. I have some but never used em. Polly always worked for me so if it ain’t broke… but others may have experience with them

Can you post a picture of this home made monotub?

Polyfill like that would be easy to find. Although I'm not sure how sterile it is right out of the bag. Iso wash the polly before use?

Nah once your past the spawn the risk of contamination is much less. This is why we keep our spawn to sub ratio close. That gives the mycelium a huge advantage since it outnumbers everything.
