I've been playing with lights with Blue 450nm booster bars, Far Reds 750nm and a Green 550nm 40watt bar. I've been using the added green along with my regular lights through the lights on period. I bought the light just to play with and I put this into google to see what it says.

while growing cannabis with a mars hydro FC-evo 4000 light I add a 40 watt 550nm green light, what should I expect using this light?

When adding a 40-watt 550nm green light to your setup alongside a high-quality, full-spectrum light like the Mars Hydro FC-evo 4000, what you should expect depends entirely on when you turn it on. [1]
Here is what to expect based on how you use it:

Scenario 1: Running it during the "Lights On" cycle (Supplemental Day Light)
If you run the 40W green light simultaneously with your Mars Hydro fixture during the day cycle, it will act as a supplemental spectrum. The Mars Hydro FC-evo 4000 EVO already uses Samsung LM301H EVO chips to provide a highly efficient full spectrum (which already includes green light). However, adding a small boost of 40W of dedicated 550nm green light will yield a few specific results: [1, 2, 3]
  • Deeper Canopy Penetration: Unlike blue and red light, which are heavily absorbed by the top layer of leaves, green light (500–600nm) penetrates much deeper into dense plant canopies. It will reach the lower leaves and encourage photosynthesis where light is usually scarce. [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • Improved Lower Cola Yields: Because green light drives photosynthesis in the lower mesophyll of the leaves, it helps mitigate lower leaf loss and can increase the size, density, and overall quality of your lower bud sites (colas).

    [1, 2]
  • Potential Morphological Shifts: At 550nm, green light can activate shade-avoidance receptors if the intensity is high enough. Combined with your main light, it might slightly trigger minor stem elongation or larger leaf surface areas, but at only 40W, this effect will likely be subtle. [1]

You’re going to hate trimming them for the Vcure but I bet they squish nicely. 😁

Yes you're right, there are a lot of leaves, I think I'll have to do a top harvest then let them ride for a bit longer to let some of the lowers / inner buds develop more. The room is loud with a sweet floral smell, hard to pin down what the smell is but its definitely weed. lol......It smells around the house anyone coming near can smell it . Good thing its legal up here or I'd be panicking

I pulled 2 of my Lemon Lava Lime plants out of my tent, trimmed them up a bit, cleaned the trays and dumped and cleaned my reservoir. I still have 2 plants to go. I had been getting some debris in my res and I eliminated Diamond Nectar from my mix to see if it has any effect on the waste I'm finding in my tank and linesSept 22 Lemon Lava Lime 2.jpgSept 22 Lemon Lava Lime.jpgSept 22 LLL tent.jpg

Nice to see ya again Beachwalker. Coffee time hasn’t been the same without you.

Hey good to hear from you, hope you're well, I just popped in to look something up and I had that meam saved and wanted to share it with pipe because we both hit deer in the fairly recent past.

I'm still enjoying good coffee, and by the looks of the girl in that meme she's enjoying it too! 😁

As most of you know I'm a bit of a light junky and and have invested in a variety of them. I'm currently running 2 Mars0Hydrom Fc4000-EVO's on top an SF600 74watt on my back wall and I have 2 SE3000 ( 75watt bars ) as side lights. I also run a 40 watt 550nm green light bar and 2 Grandmaster led 450nm booster bars with 2 Spiderfarmer 750nm bars and 2 Rapid led 750nm pucks and I'm using them all now at 6 weeks in flower today I just turned on the blues.

Being stoned most of my waking hours and just turned 74 I get a bit mixed up on what and when I' supposed to be using the different lights through m,y grow so I plugged into Google again and apparently I'm doing something right.....or so says MrGoogle

Question to Google

Growing cannabis with 2 marshydro fc 4000 evo lights and a dedicated 40watt 550nm booster bar, what effect will adding 2 grandmaster led tarantula blue 450 nm light bars have on flowering cannabis at 6 weeks in flower give me. I also add 2 spiderfarmer 750nm booster bars for 10 min at lights out

Adding two Grandmaster LED Tarantula Blue 450nm light bars at week 6 of flower will primarily boost cannabinoid and terpene profiles while introducing specific structural and physiological shifts.

Because your primary setup—two Mars Hydro FC 4000 Evo lights—already provides a heavy full-spectrum base, your additions create a highly targeted light recipe.

Effects of Adding 450nm Blue Light Bars at Week 6
  1. Enhanced Trichome and Terpene Density
Monochromatic 450nm blue light acts as a mild stress signal to the plant. At week 6 of flowering, the plant reads this high-energy blue photon spike as intense summer-to-autumn solar exposure. In response, it increases secondary metabolites to protect itself from desiccation. You will likely notice a distinct increase in resin production, frostiness (trichomes), and overall aromatic pungency.

  2. Shift in Cannabinoid Accumulation
Academic studies show that increasing the blue photon fraction during late bloom stimulates the accumulation of CBGA (the precursor to major cannabinoids). This shift can elevate your final THCA and CBDA levels depending on the specific cultivar.
    Emerald Harvest
  3. Calmed Flower Elongation (Prevents Foxtailing)
Blue light suppresses acid growth (cell elongation). Introducing it at week 6 helps keep your existing buds compact and dense, locking down their structure and drastically reducing the risk of heat- or light-induced foxtailing.
    Emerald Harvest +1
  4. The Biomass vs. Quality Tradeoff
While blue light maximizes chemical quality, an excessive blue-to-red ratio during the bulk of flower can slightly lower overall volumetric biomass compared to a purely red-heavy spectrum. However, because you are using them late in the cycle (week 6) alongside your high-PPFD Mars Hydro base, the positive impact on quality and density should heavily outweigh any minor trade-offs in raw weight.

How it Interacts with Your Current Spectrum Stack
Your setup creates an advanced, highly specialized spectral curve:

Spectrum LayerComponentMain Function at Week 6
Base Full Spectrum2x Mars Hydro FC 4000 EvoDrives overall photosynthesis, core weight, and bud volume.
Broad Green Booster40W 550nm BarPenetrates deep into the dense week-6 canopy to feed the lower leaves and keep the understory active.
Targeted Blue Injection2x GML Tarantula 450nm BarsRamps up terpene synthesis, resin glands, and compacts bud structure.
End-of-Day Shift2x Spider Farmer 750nm (10 min)Mimics sunset to instantly trigger the night cycle and accelerate flowering hormones.

Recommendations for Best Results

  • Watch Total PPFD: The FC 4000 Evo lights use highly efficient Samsung LM301H EVO diodes which already push massive intensity. Adding the Tarantula bars increases your total Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD). Ensure your total canopy PPFD doesn't exceed roughly 1000–1100 µmol/m²/s unless you are actively supplementing with CO₂; otherwise, you risk photo-bleaching your top colas.

  • The "Lights Out" Far-Red Interaction: Your 10-minute 750nm far-red burst is working exactly as intended. It shifts your plants' phytochromes from active (
  • immediately at lights-out. This rapid transition kickstarts the production of florigen (the flowering hormone) without requiring the normal 1-2 hours of natural transition time. The daytime 450nm blue light will not disrupt this process, as long as the blue bars shut off completely when the main lights go down.
