i wonder if they put some kind of preservative or anti-fungal agent in their mix to boost shelf life. i've also had germination take its sweet time, so could just be a slow start as well

ooooh that might be a problem. iirc brown rice is necessary because it's a less refined grain than white rice. something about the more complex carbs or whatnot. lemme see if i can locate my Stamets books and see if there's anything he mentions about it in em. probably still in one of thirty unpacked boxes

Was the oatmeal fully colonized? You always want to wait until it is because that will give the best chance to not contam and colonize faster. The media can dry out so thats another concern of waiting to long. A super fine mist will likely be needed to keep the media moist if the colonization time is long

i started it all together like that lol.

i just said fuck it, took a tote cleaned it out, dumped some coco and the oatmeal, mixed it up and then sprayed till maybe near capacity.

sides are showing condensation so RH must be 85+ in the MiniTote.

this is was 3 days ago if that. feels like 2.

see what yall mean by KSSS is aggressive lol.

i wouldnt be suprised if it ends up contam, though.
